Experimental Investigation of Multi Hole Probe in Aircraft Air Data Sensors
A Multi Hole pressure Probes (MHP) with five holes and conically shaped was designed for Air craft data sensors for calibrating the total pressure, static pressure, flow angle and flow speed. The main principle of five-hole probe is based on the notion that Mach number, pressure and directionality of the incoming stream may correlated with the combination of pressure readings. The general aspects of the five-hole conical probe were studied by various research papers and concluded with the final design of conical probe with 600 included angles which is applicable Air craft data sensors and also for both subsonic and supersonic wind tunnel test sections. Numerical calibration using ANSYS FLUENT 14.0 is done.

Extra-cellular cellulase enzyme production by post-harvest fungi under the influence of physical factors
The present study deals with impact of physical factors on extracellular cellulase activity of some dominant post-harvest fungi. Post-harvest fungi were isolated from different varieties of papaya fruits by agar plate method. Out of 20 species 10 species of fungi were selected to study their cellulase enzyme activity. Different physical parameters such as light, incubation period, temperature and pH were studied in order to determine the optimum conditions for cellulase production of ten dominant fungi. The cellulase present in the broth was assayed by cup-plate method. It is observed that cellulase activity of post-harvest fungi was found to be optimum at temperature 200C, pH 6.0-6.5, incubation period of 20 days and continuous light

Fitting different non-linear models to describe growth pattern in Zandi sheep
The objective of this study was to describe the growth pattern in Zandi sheep using non-linear models. In total 21640 body weight records from birth to yearling were analyzed. The data set were used in this study, obtained from the Animal Breeding Center of Iran during 1992–2013. In this study growth pattern parameters (mature weight, growth rate and mature rate) estimated using four nonlinear regression model (Brody, Gompertz, logistic and Bertalanfy). Growth models were compared with coefficients of determination )R2(, adjusted coefficient of determination (R2adg), Means square error (MSe) and Akaike’s information criterion (AIC). logistic model provided the best fit of growth curve due to the generally greater values of R2 and R2adg and lower values of MSe and AIC than other models. In logistic model the estimated amount of mature weight (A), growth rate (B) and maturation rate (K) were 34. 48±0. 09, 7. 61±0. 28 and 0. 027±0.0004, respectively. This amount for Brody model were 36. 52±0. 17, 0. 9±0. 004 and 0. 009±0. 0002 respectively. For Gompertz model this amount were 35. 12±0. 11, 2. 25±0. 04 and 0. 017±0. 0002 respectively. In von Bertalanfy model the estimated amount of parameters A, B and K were 35. 48±0. 12, 0. 53±0. 006 and 0. 014±0. 0002 respectively.

FPGA Implementation of NO-Kumar Pseudo Random Sequences
Binary pseudo random noise sequences are sequences of 1’s and 0’s having properties which make them appear to be noise-like but yet are deterministic. The NO-Kumar sequences were discovered by Jong-Seon No and P.V.Kumar and are known to have optimal correlation properties and a large linear span. The families of NO sequences are periodic with period = 2n-1 where ‘n’ is an even integer and contain within them a GMW sequence and also small set of Kasami sequences as special case. In this paper we investigate the properties of these sequences such as balance, run and even correlation properties. Odd correlation properties of these sequences which are not described in the NO-Kumar paper are also highlighted. The sequences are first simulated in MATLAB and then implemented by writing a Verilog code on the Nexys 4 FPGA board.

Gully Erosion Control: Lateritic Soil Region of West Bengal (India)
A study in gully erosion management on lateritic soil is a critical issue in West Bengal. In this paper, we have used field plots data, in combination with vegetation and check dams, for all aspects of lateritic soil erosion management. A program for controlling gully erosion was carried out in Rangamati in lateritic soil region of western part of West Bengal from 2011 to 2012 include two approaches “Check dam” and “Vegetation cover”. Results indicated that at the initial stage, the percent of sand was maximum in the upper catchment of each gully basin and the concentration of silt and clay is less. Gradually as vegetation starts trapping the sediment composition of soil changes registering higher percentage of finer particles. Again, the nutrients detached from the upper catchment were arrested by check dams that induced nutrients supply and water storage, which in turn, increased the growth of vegetation. This result proved the significance of vegetation cover with check dams to curb soil erosion and it may help the planners and managers to take proper decision for the conservation of lateritic soil.

Hydrothermal synthesis and characterization of copper oxide flower-like nanostructures
This paper describes the synthesis of Copper oxide nanostructures by a simple cost effective hydrothermal process. The structural analysis reveals that CuO exhibits a monoclinic crystal structure. A variety of other techniques like UV-Vis spectroscopy, Fourier Transform Infrared spectroscopy, Scanning Electron microscopy and dielectric analysis were done to study the optical, morphological and electrical characteristics of the nanomaterial.

Lead in toothpaste
Lead is a heavy metal which has been termed as a harmful, poisonous metal. Lead toxicity is a common cause in Man and also animals especially cattle. Neurological diseases, gastrointestinal diseases, anaemia or male infertility are few examples of the harm that lead can do. In India, use of lead in toothpaste is regulated by Bureau of Indian Standards(BIS). Permissible level of lead in both fluoridated and non-fluoridated toothpaste is 20 ppm (0.002%) according to BIS and 5 ppm (0.0005%) under the British Standard. In this study, fifteen toothpastes available on the Indian market were analysed for lead content which includes six brands namely Close up, Colgate, Dabur, Himalaya, Pepsodent and Sensodyne. Sensodyne was found to have a level above the proposed limits set by BIS and the British Standard.

Linguistic Analysis of Sexual Taboos and their Politeness Strategies among University Students in Kenya
The present paper addresses politeness strategies used by young adults in Kenyan Universities to replace linguistically tabooed words and phrases related to sex. The main aim of this paper is to guide users on appropriate linguistic strategies to use when confronted with linguistic taboos. The study adopted Brown and Levinson’s Politeness theory (1978) to analyze 11 examples. The study revealed that youths in Kenyan universities employ a variety of politeness strategies to avoid linguistic taboos related to sexuality. The findings could be used to improve current intervention measures on youth’s risky sexual behaviors.

Malondialdehyde, Superoxide dismutase, Glutathione peroxidase, Catalase and GSSH in newly diagnosed type 2 diabetic subjects
ABSTRACT Objective: To analyze the malondialdehyde (MDA), superoxide dismutase (SOD), glutathione dismutase (GPX), catalase (CAT) and glutathione (GSSH) in newly diagnosed type 2 diabetic (T2DM) patients. Study Design: Case control study Place & Duration: Department of Medicine, Jinnah Post Graduate and Medical Centre, JPMC, Karachi from October 2013 to February 2014 Subjects & Methods: 50 normal adult controls and 70 newly diagnosed T2DM were included as per criteria. Blood samples were collected for analysis of blood glucose; HbA1c, MDA, SOD, GPX, CAT and GSSH. SPSS 21.0 was used for data analysis (p- ? 0.05). Results: MDA was significantly elevated in diabetics 5.9 ± 1.9 compared to controls 4.7± 2.8 µmol/ml respectively (p=0.01) and anti oxidant enzymes- SOD, GPX, CAT and GSSH were reduced in diabetics compared to controls (p=0.0001) Glycated HbA1c and Blood glucose (R) showed positive association with MDA (r = 0.355 and p= 0.026). Conclusion: The serum MDA levels were observed significantly high in newly diagnosed type 2 diabetics with low anti oxidant enzymes. Antioxidants may be prescribed to newly diagnosed type 2 diabetics to halt the vascular complications.
