Prophylatic Potential of Lemon Grass and Neem as Antimalarial Agents
Prophylactic activities of methanol, ethanol and aqueous extracts of neem and lemon grass against plasmodium development in mice were investigated. Various extracts of the plants were prepared with soxhlet apparatus. Growth and reproduction of malarial parasite in the treated animals was delayed 3 days after treatment. The mean % parasitaemia obtained in mice administered with methanolic, ethanolic and aqueous extracts of lemon grasss were 43.01%, 50.21% and 48.08% while those treated with methanol, ethanol and aqueous extracts of neem displayed 59.54%, 61.50% and 13.4% respectively indicating the anti – plasmodial activity of both plants. . It is therefore, concluded that the activities of these plants depend neither on weight of the mice nor dosage but on the solvent used. The parasitaemia development in the group treated with standard drug (Malariech) was significantly minimal having 2.47% and 88.23% % parasitamia and average % suppression recorded. Aqueous Neem extract exhibited highest suppressive effect 76.21% followed by Lemon grass in respect of the methanolic(43.67%) and aqueous(38.07%) extracts as compared with methanolic(25.47%) and ethanolic(23.32%) extracts of Neem.. The suppressive value of aqueous neem extract 76.21%, was considered significant and could serve as sufficient replacement for conventional antimalarial drugs that easily loose their potency with the impending development of resistance.

PSO algorithm application in induction motor characteristics optimization
Parameters design and characteristics optimization of a split-phase single-phase induction motor are proposed in this paper using particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm. The PSO considers the motor efficiency as objective function and five performance related items as constraints. The main advantages of the proposed technique are; its simple structure and its straightforward verification of maximum efficiency of induction motor for a given output power. The PSO algorithm was implemented on a test motor and therefore, a code has been provided under MATLAB software. The results show that the PSO method gives more suitable design optimization against conventional methods.

Scaled Quantum Chemical Studies on the Vibrational Spectra of 2-bromo-m-xylene
The FT-IR and FT-Raman spectra of 2-bromo-m-xylene (2BMX) have been recorded in the regions 4000–400 cm?1 and 4000–100 cm?1, respectively. The fundamental vibrational frequencies and intensities of the vibrational bands were evaluated using density functional theory (DFT) using standard B3LYP method and 6-311+G** basis set combinations. The vibrational spectra were interpreted, with the aid of normal coordinate analysis based on a scaled quantum mechanical force field. The Infrared and Raman spectra were also predicted from the calculated intensities. The Mulliken population analysis of the molecule is computed by using DFT calculations. The calculated HOMO and LUMO energies shows that charge transfer occur within the molecule. Further, density functional theory (DFT) combined with quantum chemical calculations to determine the first-order hyperpolarizability. Electronic excitation energies, oscillator strength and nature of the respective excited states were calculated by the closed-shell singlet calculation method were also calculated for the molecule.

Signal model for the prediction of wind speed in Nigeria
Rapid development of wind energy as an alternative source of power is providing rich environment for wind energy related research. Several mathematical models have been used to study wind data and the models are mainly physical and statistical models. In this study, a signal Modeling approach is developed to predict wind speed data in Nigeria. The signal modeling approach is based on the Markov property, which implies that given the present wind speed state, the future of the system is independent of its past. A Markov process is in a sense the probabilistic analog of causality and can be specified by defining the conditional distribution of the random process.

Study on relation of astrology with prakriti of children
Ayurveda and astrology are related aspects of Vedic science. Medical astrology is one of the main branches of astrology and is a very important pillar of Ayurveda. It includes remedial measures for harmonizing planetary influences on both body and mind. Astrology can determine the basic physical constitution of the individual from the birth chart, the physical appearance of the individual, the predominance of elements in their nature. It can calculate basic health, longevity and disease tendencies. Taking this into consideration a survey was planned to study the relation between different aspect of astrology (Western and Indian) with Prakriti (Ayurveda) in children. The survey was conducted over 225 subjects out of which 195 and 208 subjects were included in two categories of Western and Indian (Jyotish) astrology. It was found that both sciences have an impact on each other. Western astrology influence prakriti of individual upto 35.89% and Indian (Jyotish) effects prakriti upto 33.65%%.

The effect of fasting on mental health and depression among high school students in the area Gvavr 2012

The Effect of Organizational Culture on Organizational Economic Performance
The main objective of this paper was to look at the effect of Organizational Culture on Organization’s Economic Performance. The discussion was based on series of empirical studies of Organizational culture and Organization’s Economic performance. The research findings no doubt have validated the synerginous relationship between Organizational culture and Organization’s Economic performance especially, the long-term financial performance was highest for organizations with an adaptive culture while strength and fit perspectives were partially supported. They also recommended that there can still be more room for improvement and consequently better economic performance if proactive adaptability is enhanced, which requires senior leaders to cooperate and collaborate among themselves, leaders must create and implement a business vision and associated strategies that fit the organizational context( a vision represents a long-term goal that describes” what an organization wants to become”) , if adaptive culture is promoted over time by a combination of organizational success and specific leadership ,leaders must get employees to buy into a timeless philosophy or set of values that emphasizes service to the organization’s key constituents-customers, stockholders, and employees-and also emphasizes the improvement of leadership, and creating infrastructure to preserve the organization’s adaptiveness by consistently reinforcing and supporting the organization’s core philosophy or values of satisfying constituency needs and improving leadership by management.

The effect of organizational justice on OCB Mediating role of Organizational Identification
Organizational justice is a variable that predicts a lot of organizational variables such as organizational citizenship behavior (OCB) and plays an important role in its improvement. In today's competitive world, organizations cannot survive for a long-term period of time without employees' voluntary intention to cooperate and adopt the organizational responsibilities, commitment, and mutual trust. They need behaviors beyond the organizational expectations and does not exist in written job description but ensure the organizational survival. Thus, managers should be sensitive to development and reinforce this organizational variable. Since, the purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of organizational justice on OCB through mediation of organizational identification as well as moderation of psychological contract. To do this, a sample size of 84 was estimated using Cochran's formula, and finally, 90 questionnaires were collected from the employees of Agriculture Jihad department of Gonbad-e-Kavoos. Cronbach's alpha for all the measures was greater than.70 and confirmatory factor analysis confirmed the questionnaire's construct validity. Structural equation modeling and hierarchical regression were used to test the hypotheses. Research results indicated that organizational identification fully mediated the relationship between interactional justice and OCB; partially mediated the relationship between distributional justice and OCB, but the mediating role of organizational identification in the relationship between procedural justice and OCB was not confirmed. Furthermore, it was determined that the positive relationship between organizational identification and OCB was moderated by psychological contracts so that this positive relationship is stronger when transactional and relational contracts are high.

The impact of human activities on the physico-chemistry of ogbum-nu-abali creek, Port harcourt metropolis
Ogbum-nu-Abali Creek of Port Harcourt metropolis was undertaken to assess the impact of human activities in relation to physico-chemistry between March – May, 2006. Results of physico-chemical parameters showed that most of the parameters were higher than the maximum permissible limits for surface waters and discharge of wastewaters into surface waters. Results further showed that pH ranges from 6.20 – 6.70 with a mean value of 6.54 mean values of parameters included: conductivity (1602.03 ?s/cm), TSS (174.78mg/L), TDS (5187.577mg/L), Turbidity (8.12NTU), BOD5 (27.95mg/L), DO (4.51mg/L), Oil and Grease (5.77mg/L), Phosphate (0.443mg/L), Lead (0.3mg/L), Fe (2.74mg/L), Manganese (11.54mg/L), Chromium (0.33mg/L) and Temperature (28.170C) respectively. The creek was transparent, foamy, slimy, slightly smelly and no animal life was sighted in it due to deterioration of water quality as evident by high BOD and low oxygen content. It is pertinent to state that anthropogenic activities in and around the creek have given rise to alteration of the physico-chemical characteristics of the water quality rendering it unfit for recreational exercise, therefore, the abattoir at Ahiamakara leading to Nkpogu community should be discontinued to avoid water pollution.
