The impact of distributed generation in the grid network of the Nigerian South-South Region is studied in this paper. DG capacity installation in the network was modelled using NEPLAN software. Reduction of network and transmission line losses as well as minimisation of transmission line congestion and voltage profile improvement for the nodes of the network were observed in the results.

Education is important for the effective functioning of society and plays a key role in every individual’s behaviour. Alcohol abuse is defined as an alcohol use disorder. Alcoholism and alcohol dependence among teachers in Kenya have increased exponentially. The study thus sought to assess the influence the level of education on alcohol abuse among public school teachers in Nyeri County, Kenya. A mixed method approach employing self-administered structured questionnaires and in-depth interviews was used to undertake the study. The target population consisted of teachers employed by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) in public primary and secondary schools. A sampling frame was obtained from the TSC providing a list of all teachers in the county and the schools they teach in. The study utilized the stratified sampling methodology to select participants, where strata used was the subcounty and type of school (primary/secondary) after which a random sample was used to identify the teachers who participated in the research. A sample of 385 teachers was selected from a population of 6,264 from Nyeri County. A self-administered questionnaire was used to collect data. An interview schedule was presented to the TSC County Director to capture the views concerning the alcohol situation in the county. Data was coded and analysed using descriptive and inferential statistics. The results on the prevalence of alcohol use revealed that 59% of teachers use alcohol while 32.7% fall under the category of hazardous use. The Chi square test and t-test for independence of means were used for inferential analysis. The level of education was noted to have a significant effect on alcohol abuse with the number of teachers with lower educational qualifications being associated with alcohol abuse. The study recommends urgent interventional strategies targeting the enhancement of personal growth through higher education in the management of alcohol abuse among teachers.

Thyroid hormones play a major role in the metabolism, growth and development of the human body. Subclinical hypothyroidism (SCH) is diagnosed when peripheral thyroid hormone levels are within normal reference laboratory range but serum thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) levels are mildly elevated. The pathogenesis of SCH in the development of coronary artery disease has been the subject of several studies whose results remain contradictory. We report the case of a 50-year-old women admitted for complete atrioventricular block secondary to an acute coronary syndrome of lower topography whose exploration revealed subclinical hypothyroidism.

One of the most cited concepts in marketing literature is customer loyalty. many researchers have investigated different aspects of this concept and there is a rich marketing literature in influential factors on customers loyalty. the aim of this study is to probe a new dimension of this concept and to see the effect of relationship marketing on it.This research assesses impact of relationship marketing strategies including commitment, trust, communications, and conflict management on the loyalty of Bank Keshavarzi and Saman Bank’s customers. Research methodology, in terms of research purpose, is of applied type, and in terms of data gathering, of descriptive-survey type. Statistical population of this research includes 260 customers of the private bank Saman Bank and the state-owned bank Bank Keshavarzi within the city of Tehran. The sample, using random sampling methods, was selected. The constituents were prepared based on Likert’s 5-optional Scale. The constituents’ validity was calculated based on content validity and its reliability was calculated based on Cronbach Alpha, and the data were analyzed using T-test. Research results indicate a direct and significant relationship of commitment, trust, communication, and conflict management with customers’ loyalty in the both banks (p < 0.000). In addition, the research findings suggest that the variable communications with both banks is ranked in the first place and is of a high importance, and in the state banks, the variables conflict management, commitment and trust are respectively ranked next. In the private bank Saman Bank, the variables affecting customers’ loyalty are prioritized as follows: communication, commitment, conflict management, and trust.

This paper critically exposes the concept and legal framework for the implementation of Intellectual Property Rights (IPRS) in Nigeria. Intellectual property in summary comprise legal rights which result from intellectual activity in the industrial, scientific, literary and artistic areas of human endeavours. Most countries including Nigeria have enacted laws to protect intellectual property in order encourage inventors, creators and artists and preserve their rights to the fruits of their labour. Also such laws attract foreign direct investment to the country which creates jobs and increases the country?s revenue through taxes. It was discovered that Nigeria has adequate laws both domestic and International Laws to which Nigeria is a signatory for the protection of Intellectual Property (IP) but what is lacking is diligent implementation of these laws. Consequently, Nigeria has become a destination of first choice for all kinds of pirated works and counterfeited products from various parts of the world. Dubious Nigerian businessmen are also mass producing cassette discs of local movies and popular local songs. Recommendations have been made on how to solve this problem.

Health, in addition to being introduced as a right to the constitution, is regarded as a form of investment or as a means of maintaining the ability and productivity of labor. Health will have increasing productivity and economic growth directly by enhancing the health saving of individuals and indirectly by increasing the motivation for continuing the study and learning better skills. Therefore, the development of the health sector in the country is able to increase the economic growth. In this study, the effect of health expenditures on economic growth in Iran for the period of 1979-2016 is reviewed annually. Todayamamoto causality method for investigating the causality relation, and the ARDL method for evaluating long-run coefficients have been used. The results of the Todayamamoto causality method showed that there is a mutual and causality relation between health expenditure and economic growth in Iran. Also the results of ARDL method exhibited that health expenditure has a significant and positive effect on Iran's economic growth.

Propagation of large amplitude ion acoustic solitons are investigated in four component plasmas, whose constituents are inertial ions, nonthermal electrons, Boltzmannian positrons and dust particulates. The solitary waves as well as its properties are investigated through pseudopotential approach. It is observed that the presence of dust particulates considerably modify the potentials as well as width of the solitary wave.

Kallmann's syndrome (KS) is an inherited disorder distinguished by an association of hypogonadotropic hypogonadism and anosmia or hyposmia. This altered sense of smell is due to the absence or poor development of olfactory bulbs and girdles; the olfactory grooves are absent in their anterior portion with variable development in the posterior region. In this article, we report a case of Kallmann's syndrome in ten years old male patient who presented at the endocrinology department with pubertal delay and clinical findings suspecting Kallmann's syndrome. With hormonal assays, magnetic resonance imaging was performed as a useful adjunct to the diagnosis in the hierarchy of tests, which shows in our case characteristic findings of KS. The treatment is primarily aimed at restoring, normal pubertal development, and, in some cases, normal fertility, but unfortunately, no cure is available concerning olfactory disorders.

This paper is focused on finding out the key determinants of competitiveness in the textile sector, with special reference to Pakistan. Researcher has conducted a survey that is designed to use financial side, productivity side, supply side, and demand side determinants to measure firms’ level Competitiveness. Primary data was collected at five point Likert scale for 145 Listed Textile Companies at Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE). Collected data was then analyzed by using the SEM statistical tool to find out the key components of competitiveness and the rate of interdependency between the dependent and independent variables. The result shows that financial and demand side determinants having a greater positive impact on the competitiveness. Research also suggests that the improvements in financial as well as capital markets to keep the edge along with the more efforts to improve the productivity and supply side can improve the firm’s level competitiveness.
