Pre and Post-monsoon Variation in Physico-chemical characteristics in Groundwater quality of Tiruchengode Taluk, Namakkal district, Tamilnadu, India
The present investigation reports the results of monitoring study focusing on groundwater quality of Tiruchengode taluk, Namakkal district during Pre and Post monsoon period of 2012. This has been determined by collecting groundwater from 23 different sampling stations and subjecting the samples to a comprehensive physico chemical analysis. For calculating the WQI, the following 10 parameters have been considered i.e. Temperature, pH, Alkalinity, Dissolved oxygen, TDS, Total Hardness, Calcium, Magnesium, Chloride, Fluoride. The WQI during Pre-monsoon season varied from 135.01 to 382.75, while for Post-monsoon, it was found between 76 and 257. Significantly lower WQI for the Post-monsoon season was observed, indicating deterioration of the groundwater overall in corresponding season. The study revealed that groundwater from only 17.39 % locations was fit for domestic use, thus reveals that the groundwater of the study area needs some degree of treatment before consumption, and regular groundwater quality monitoring should be encouraged as a strategy towards groundwater quality protection and conservation.

Prediction of reliability of vehicle tire with use of Neuro-fuzzy networks
In this paper, one of the artificial intelligence techniques called networks for prediction of reliability of the tire is neuro-fuzzy network. At first key indices which are effective on reliability of tire are identified and then some rules have been designed and applied for system training with use of experts’ views. ANFIS system implements Takagi –Sugno fuzzy system as a system and inference and deduction of the system are mixed and an efficient tool is provided for simulating a nonlinear mapping. In the performed simulations, some 4-input networks are different with membership functions and have been studied in different iterations for prediction and finally the model which had high predictability was selected as optimal model.

Preliminary findings on potential areas of improvement in QLASSIC
Quality Assessment System in Construction (QLASSIC) was promoted by Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) in late 2006. Apparently its main aim is to assess objectively the level of quality of the building construction work. Essentially the program comprised of two main components which are the assessment standard known as Construction Industry Standard (CIS) 7:2006 and the operation of the QLASSIC assessment. After more than five years of its existence, inevitably there are several issues prevailed that need to be addressed. Having said that leads to the primary objective of having this study is to explore the potential areas of improvement in QLASSIC. The respondents for this research were the construction personnel that have fair knowledge on CIS 7: 2006 and considerable years of experience in QLASSIC assessments. The data were collected through five focus group workshops consisted representative from the key stakeholders in QLASSIC assessments namely developer, consultant, contractor, Housing Tribunal and QLASSIC assessor. Altogether 66 respondents have participated in the workshops. This study had utilized questionnaire form as the research instrument. The data collected were analyzed using SPSS version 17. Generally this study was able to identify potential areas of improvement in CIS 7: 2006 as well as the operational of QLASSIC assessment. The output of this research is expected to provide the preliminary indications as areas that need to review and improve in an effort to improvise the implementation of QLASSIC by CIDB.

Preparation of cereal mix for nutri-composite bar development using response surface methodology
The quantity of inclusion of three types of cereals for the preparation cereal mix as main component in Nutri-composite bar preparation such as whole wheat flour (WWF), proso millet flour (PMF), and germinated finger millet flour (GFMF) was optimized using central composite rotatable design for three variables with five level of each. The analyzed responses were carbohydrate, protein, fat, crude fibre, ash and moisture content. The influence of independent variables on responses and optimized level of incorporation was studied through second order polynomial quadratic regression models. The independent variables imposed significant effect on fat at linear level; carbohydrate, protein and crude fiber at quadratic level; moisture and crude fiber at interactive level. The optimum level of mixing of WWF, PMF and GFMF in cereal mix with validated means of response as 4.6g moisture, 71g carbohydrate, 11.18g protein, 1.7g fat, 2.7 g ash and 5.7 g crude fiber was 46.18 g, 35 g and 32.5 g respectively.

Radiation and chemical effects on MHD flow through porous media past an impulsively started exponentially accelerated vertical plate with variable temperature in the presence of heat generation is studied here. The fluid considered is gray, absorbing-emitting radiation but a non-scattering medium. The governing equations involved in the present analysis are solved by Laplace transform techniques. The velocity, temperature, concentration, skin friction and Nusselt number are studied for different parameters like thermal Grashof number, mass Grashof number, Schmidt number, magnetic field parameter, Prandtl number, radiation parameter, heat source parameter, permeability parameter chemical reaction parameter and time.

Relationship between improvised and standard instructional material with students academic performance
Abstract The research work was designed to find out the relationship between improvised and standard instructional material with academic performance in physics, in udu local government area of delta state. Some secondary schools in the area were used in the research. The data was collected via questionnaire in which students administered using chi-square method for the analysis; it was found out that the calculated value was more than the critical value which implied that there was significant effect of improvised and standard instructional material on the performance of secondary school students. This leads to the conclusion that government should endeavor to provide standard instructional materials for secondary school students so that there learning can be effective.

Rheological and Functional Characteristics of Infant Formula Based on Banana, Soybean and Maize
The aim of the project was to evaluate the pasting profile and functional properties of green banana composite flour. Banana samples obtained from the Volta River Estate Limited were solar dried and milled into flour. Soybean and maize were obtained from a local market at Madina in Accra, mechanically dried and made into flour. Banana, soy bean and maize flour were mixed into composite flour in seven different percentage ratios. Pasting profile and functional properties were analyzed on the composite flour. The values ranged from 6.28±0.87 to 7.41±0.46 for swelling power. Solubility index values were 15.0±3.65 to 19.37±0.92 for BMS 3 and 6 respectively. There were significant differences. Water absorption capacity values ranged from 9.67±0.58 to 14.33±0.58 for BMS 2 and 6 respectively, Oil Absorption Capacity also had values ranging from 7.0±1.0 to 10.33±0.58 for BMS 5 and 3 respectively. The bulk density values where 0.71±0.11 and 0.81±0.01 for BMS 2 and 1 respectively. The pasting profile showed significant difference between the individual samples in all the parameters. The results obtained so far indicates that banana composite flour would be good for infants.
