We investigate dark energy models in an anisotropic Kantowski-Sachs space –time with a variable equation of state(EoS). The EoS for dark energy ? is found to be time dependent and its existing range for derive models is in good agreement with the recent observations. Under the suitable condition, the anisotropic models approach to isotropic scenario. We also find that during the evolution of the universe, the EoS parameter for DE changes from ?>-1 to ?=-1 in first model whereas from ?>-1 to ?<-1 in second model which is consistent with recent observations. The cosmological constant ? is found to be a positive decreasing function of time and it approaches a small positive value at late time (i.e. the present epoch) which is corroborated by results from recent supernovae Ia observations. The physical and geometric properties are also discussed.

Light sequencer is a phenomenon which has been with us since the end of Second World War. Even though it has undergone very robust modification from the mirror balls into pure electronics. The 8051 microcontroller based light sequencer incorporates the programmable capability of the 8051 microcontroller in light sequencing light. This therefore has the advantage of changing the display of lights required as opposed to changing the whole electronics of the system of non-8051 microcontroller based light sequencer for the same effects lighting.

The paper presented a method with an improvement crossover operation, reserve policy and Niche technology to adjust the algorithm, which made algorithm be avoided to converge prematurely, and prevented algorithm falling into best local solutions. Through case emulates, it was found that it had good performance. Finally, the principle of convergence was proved.

Internal pressures of the ternary and sub-binary mixtures of Benzene(1)+Hexane(2) +n-Propanol(3) have been computed from ultrasonic velocity measurements at different mole fractions in the temperature range of 300C- 450C. The equation formulated by Andiappan et.al, for evaluating internal pressures of binary liquid mixtures has been modified and extended in the present work for the Ternary systems. The internal pressures computed with the help of the modified relation and showed close agreement with observed values. The absolute average deviation between the calculated and observed values from 1.7% to 1.9% for the ternary system studied.

Myocarditis is an inflammatory disease of the cardiac muscle associated with both infectious and noninfectious diseases. Among the infectious etiologies, viruses are the most frequent pathogens, streptococcus is rarely reported as a causative pathogen of acute myocarditis without clinical features suggestive of rheumatic fever. No epidemiological data estimating the incidence of group A streptococcus (GAS) induced myocarditis exist at this time [1]. The clinical manifestations are variable: it classically presents as an acute heart failure and can also be manifested with arrhythmia (tachycardia or bradycardia) or chest pain mimicking myocardial infarction, especially in young patients, accompanied with focal ST elevations on the electrocardiogram and elevated cardiac biomarkers. Here we present a case of a 44- year-old man who presented with myocarditis mimicking ST elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) a few days after he an episode of angina.

In this study chloroform and methanol extracts of Ziziphus xylopyrus stem barks were tested for analgesic (Hot plate, Tail immersion and Acetic acid- induced writhing method) and anti-inflammatory activity (paw edema induced by carrageenan) in mice and rats, respectively. The methanolic extract in doses of 50, 100 and 200 mg/kg showed 10.91, 34.95 and 57.61 percentage of protection from writhing respectively and the percentage inhibition of paw edema at the end of four hours was 1.26, 24.05 and 35.42 respectively. In the Hot plate and Tail immersion models, methanolic extract in the above doses increased the pain threshold significantly after 30 min, 1, 2 and 3h of administration. Methanolic extract showed dose-dependent action in all the experimental models in different doses whereas chloroform extract was not able to show such remarkable significant activities.

Despite the strides made over the course of the past decade to address the barriers present for women to overcome in order to progress in the work place, it is still relevant and necessary to assess the degree of transformational and effective change within the workplace in general, and within the Control Instruments Group in particular. Firstly, to establish whether these barriers till exist; and secondly, what can be done to overcome those that still remain. The various problems addressed within this research included whether the position of women and their rights within the greater context of the working environment have improved since the new dispensation which became effective following the 1994 election, and the level of transformational change within the Control Instruments Group was assessed to identify what barriers still exist, and how can these be overcome.

Both English and Persian languages represent modality through auxiliary verbs, besides other means. The grammar systems of both languages include epistemic and root modality with some sort of similarities; however, they do not possess a one-to-one correspondence of modal auxiliaries, as a mean of conveying modality. Thus, translational shift is applied in many cases during the process of translating. This study is an analysis of such shifts in a parallel text, which consists of Jane Eyre, a novel by Charlotte Bronte (1955), and its Persian translation by Bahrami-harran (1998). The English and Persian modal auxiliaries are described and classified based on Palmer’s (2001) model. The aim of this study is to detect different types of shifts based on Catford’s classification in the translated text. To do so, one hundred and fifty sentences with modal auxiliaries were randomly selected from the source text and compared with the equivalents provided by the translator. Then, different types of shifts, based on Catford's, were identified and classified. The findings, descriptively suggesting how to translate modal auxiliaries from English into Persian, may have implications for linguists, translation researchers, and especially students of translation studies.

Pollution of ground water with heavy metals from industrial activities has caused a major threat to human life exposing man to series of diseases, crippling disability and death. This study was carried out to determine the concentration of heavy metals leaching into groundwater from the industrial activities and to assess their long term effect on life of the people and the resultant aquifer. The study was carried out at 10 different locations which are all located in Ikeja industrial areas. The water samples collected were subjected to physical, chemical, heavy metal and bacteriological analysis in order to determine their level of pollution. Samples were prepared according to the standard methods using atomic absorption spectrophotometry for heavy metals determination. The result of the analysis shows that heavy metals in water samples had an average pH mean value of 5.20 indicating the acidity of the water sampled, while the average electrical conductivity, temperature and total acidity of were 0.64µs/cm 29.70oC and 29.60 respectively. The average mean concentration of the chemical and heavy metals were 0.132 mg/l, 0.040 mg/l, 0.279 mg/l, 0.148 mg/l, 0.026 mg/l, 0.0055 mg/l, 0.00266 mg/l and 0.0097 mg/l for calcium, magnesium, sodium, potassium, iron, cadmium, lead, and chromium respectively. The parameters analysed were at varying concentrations in the groundwater with parameters such as nitrate, phosphate, and pH exceeding the World Health Organization (W.H.O) standard, it was observed that the sample collected from Neimeth pharmaceuticals exceeded the permissible level for iron and lead having the value of 0.0391mg/l and 0.0627mg/l, while most of the water samples analysed falls within the permissible limit in accordance with the WHO standards. Adequate care must be taken for further prevention and handling of chemical discharges from industries. The need for the treatment of the groundwater and control of human activities in the area to prevent further contamination must also be put be in place.
