Study the activity of catalase, copper, ceruloplasmin and other biochemical features in first trimester Iraqi pregnant women
Minerals trace elements, such as zinc, copper, iron, and several antioxidants like vitamins and ceruloplasmin, catalase, have significant influence on the health of pregnant women. The aim of the current study is to evaluate the relationship of trace elements, antioxidants and several antioxidants enzymes level in first trimester Iraqi pregnant women. The present study comprises of 50 normal pregnant women were selected in first trimester in attending for antenatal checkup to the hospital, and 30 non-pregnant women as control group. Venous blood (5 mL) was collected from pregnant women. In normal pregnancy, the copper and ceruloplasmin, total iron binding capacity (TIBC), and vitamin C concentration were statistically significantly increased in pregnant women group when compared to control group .The present study infers that iron is the most important micronutrient and it should be supplemented as a daily requirement in pregnant women. TIBC can be used as a diagnostic measurement and follow-up health status of women in pregnancy.

Study on the Synthesis, Thermal Behavior and Biological Evaluation of Dicoumarol Ni Complexes Based on Enrofloxacin
Synthesized a series of new Ni complexes by using Enrofloxacin and dicoumarol derivatives. Physico-chemical, spectroscopic and thermal properties of the complexes have been studied on the basis of infrared spectra, mass spectra, NMR spectra, electronic spectra, elemental analyses. All the compounds were screened for their antibacterial activity against Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus subtilis and antifungal activity against Candida albicans, Aspergillus clavatus and Aspergillus niger. Ferric-reducing antioxidant power (FRAP) of all complexes were measured. Also the compounds against Mycobacterium tuberculosis shows clear enhancement in the antitubercular activity upon Nickel complex.

Study on quality of irrigation water of vijapur taluka of mehsana District, Gujarat (India)
In arid and semi arid area, irrigation is very essential for successful agriculture. Quality of irrigation water is an important factor of crop production .Whatever may be the source of irrigation water, some soluble salts are always dissolved there in these are mostly sodium, calcium, magnesium and some time potassium as cations and chloride , carbonate, and bi-carbonate as anions. Salinity hazard which is associated with high soluble salts in water and measured in terms of electrical conductivity (EC), water having an EC value of more than 2.25m.mhos/cm2 is always unsafe for irrigation use. The alkali hazard is related to the development of alkalinity in the soil and is expressed as SAR Residual Sodium Carbonate is an indirect expression of CO3-2 and HCO3-1 of Na+in ground water. Based on the RSC value the irrigation water are classified in conclusion.

Study on Comparative Reeling Performance of Multi-end Reeling Machine and Cottage Basin Reeling Machine for Qualitative and Quantitative Improvement of Raw Silk Production
A multi-end reeling machine with re-reeling unit has been fabricated at BSRTI for production of raw silk with high quality and quantity. The experiment was done by thirty samples of green cocoons in four different seasons to determine the cocoon characteristics and reeling performances on multi-end reeling machine. Mean renditta, raw silk recovery %, reelability %, waste % were found 11.01, 69.80%, 63.24% and 24.26%. It was also found that mean tenacity and elongation percentage were 3.10 (g/d) and 18.70% in multi-end reeling machine, whereas it was 2.83 (g/d) and 18.61% in cottage basin respectively. BSRTI fabricated multi-end reeling machine was suggested as an improved reeling appliances commercially to get high quality raw silk production.

Study on Adsorption for Removal of Commercial Phenyl by Fly Ash
The aim of this present work is to investigate the sorption potential of a modified and unmodified fly ash as a law-cost adsorbent material for the removal of phenyl from aqueous medium. In this regard fly ash is a very attractive option, because it is cheap, widely available and has good mechanical stability for handing purposes and employment in adsorption columns. The effect of various factors such as contact time, adsorbent dosage, PH, temperature and initial adsorbent. A concentration on the sorption process was investigated under batch equilibrium technique using UV/Vis Spectrometry. The result obtained showed that the capacity of fly ash for adsorption of Phenyl depends on the initial PH and concentration of solutions.

Study of ultrasonic, volumetric and transport properties of Anisic aldehyde - acetate mixtures at different temperatures
Densities, viscosities and ultrasonic velocities have been measured for the binary mixtures of anisic aldehyde with methyl acetate, ethyl acetate and n- butyl acetate over the entire composition range at 303.15,308.15,313.15 and 318.15K .The excess values were correlated using Redlich – Kister polynomial equation. The excess values were examined in order to have an insight into the inter molecular interactions among the components of the binary mixtures that lead to the possible dipole- dipole interactions or hydrogen bond formation between unlike molecules. Excess molar volumes, deviation in adiabatic compressibilities, deviation in viscosity and excess free length are negative in the whole composition range for all the systems at all temperatures.

Study of the K/S values, wash, light & rubbing fastnesses, and antimicrobial assessment on modal, cotton and modal / cotton (50: 50) blended dyed fabrics
Modal is one of the vital regenerated cellulosic fibres used in textile industries. It contains almost all the properties required for the textile applications. In this paper the physical properties, dyeing effects and antimicrobial characteristics of modal, cotton and modal / cotton (50 : 50 blend) fabrics are studied. Modal fabrics in original and in blended (50 : 50) form with cotton show good properties towards k/s value, wash, light and rubbing fastnesses and also for antimicrobial behavior.

Study of the cytotoxicity effect of new Cr(III) and Fe(III) complexes of flavon on cancer (Cell Line Hep-2) and antimicrobial activity
A new series of Cr(III) and Fe(III) complexes with the Flavone ligand were studied on the growth of Hep-2 (Human hepatocellular ademocarcinoma ),which is the human larynx cancer cell Line by using in vitro system and compared with anticancer drug cisplatin (cis-pt) as appositive control. The cancer cells were treated with different concentration and cis-pt after 72 hr. exposure time. The cytotoxic activity was tested by inhibition rate as parameter. The results showed significant differences (p<0.05) for each three treatments when the inhibition rates were increased. The synthesized compounds were tested for antimicrobial activity by cup plate diffusion method. The results indicate the enhanced activity of metal complexes over the parent ligands.

Study of tensile strength and hardness property for PVC reinforced with fiber
Study the tensile strength and hardness of poly vinyl chloride as a matrix and subsidized fiber (short fiber glass - glass fibers are woven mat - fibers, nylon-6) and attended samples fractures different size. (21% - 23% - 25% - 27% - 29% ).A comparison was made of the results of the tensile tests and hardness of materials composite as tests were conducted at room temperature . ( 23+2 c).Results from the volumetric fraction lead to increased resistance to tensile and hardness values. Results of the materials [pvc + f (w .r+N-6)] had its highest value of the tensile strength and material [pvc+ fg(w.r)], had its highest value of hardness.
