The study on the effect of different weed management techniques on some chemical properties of soil was carried out on the university teaching and research farm in Girei Local Government Area of Adamawa State. This project was aimed at determining whether there will be a difference between soil chemical properties in areas treated with herbicide and those without herbicide treatment in the study area. The soil was examined in the field during the survey period after which eight profile pits were dug. Four of the pits were treated with herbicide, while four was not treated with herbicide. The soil samples were taken to the laboratory for analysis. The pH of the soil was found to range from moderately acidic to moderate alkaline with a mean pH values of 6.52 and 6.64 in herbicide and non herbicide use respectively. The electrical conductivity was found to be very low with mean values of herbicide and non-herbicides use of 0.02 and 0.25 respectively. Organic carbon of the soil was found to be moderate. And only organic compound was found to correlation with a significant difference. The exchangeable cations were generally found to be low and the total nitrogen was also found to be low. Generally, soils with chemical weed management practices were found to differ from those managed without chemicals. The major limitation of this project is that, other factor which may cause changes in the soul chemical properties were not considered in this study. I will recommend that further research be done to eliminate all other factors that can cause a change in soil chemical properties in other to determine more accurately the effect of herbicide on soils.

Islamic finance is currently the fastest growing segment in the world economy. Apart from providing funds for investment activities and eventually promoting economic development, it is interesting to understand the implication of Islamic finance development on the development of institutional quality of host country. With Islamic finance is based on Islamic values of no oppression, profit and loss sharing and helping-hand concept, it is expected that the rapid growth of Islamic finance will help to promote good institutions. Hence, focusing on several OIC countries with Islamic banking sector, this study examines the role of Islamic banking on institutional quality for the period between 2001 and 2015. The result shows the institutional quality depends on economic growth and Islamic finance development. Policy makers are encouraged to spur economic activity and the growth of Islamic banking in promoting good institutions.

A compressor is the heart of vapour compressor system. The function of refrigerator compressor, being an integral part of the system, is related to relate to other components. Hence its capacity, life, breakdown, etc. are very much influenced by the performance of other components like condenser, evaporator, throttling device etc. in this present paper the reciprocating compressor is being replaced by a screw compressor. The performance analysis is conducted and further a comparison analysis is done. It has been found that the screw compressor with certain limitation is more effective and saves the power.

This study examined the factors driving economic growth in Nigeria from the period of 1981-2014 using Johansen co-integration and VECM analysis technique to test for the existence of co-integration between the variables of this study and causal impacts. The result found that there is no causal relationship between labour and economic growth in Nigeria and causality do not run from labour to economic growth. Also, there is a causal relationship between economic growth and capital in Nigeria, and capital is causing changes in economic growth in Nigeria. There is also a causal relationship between capita and labour, the granger causality result shows that there is a causal relationship between labour and capital. This study therefore recommend that the government should use expansionary monetary and fiscal policies that reposition the structure of Nigerian economy to revive economic activities in the economy which will help rise both labour and capital for increased growth rate.

Solitary fibrous tumor (TFS) is a rare tumor. It is localized preferentially at the pleura. Other locations have been described. These are peritoneal, bronchopulmonary, orbital and mediastinal locations. We report the case of a 49-year-old patient followed for parathyroid adenoma who presented with bone pain, muscle pain, fatigue, dry cough and dyspnea. The clinical examination was without abnormality. Chest X-ray showed a superior mediastinal opacity. Cervicothoracic computed tomography indicated a mass at the lower right pole of the thyroid and a tissue process of the upper mediastinum. A cervicotomy was performed for the removal of the parathyroid adenoma. On the other hand, an attempt at dissection of the mediastinal mass by the cervical route was inconclusive, and a manubriotomy was necessary for its extraction. The histo-pathological study confirmed the parathyroid adenoma for the cervical mass; and solitary fibrous tumor for the mass of the superior mediastinum.

Health is the integrative exertion of multiple discipline effective locally, countrywide and internationally to achieve most favorable health for people, animals and the environment. As the human inhabitants continue to augment transversely the world, the crossing point of people, animals and the environment becomes more significant and impactful. For the past few years, the one Health concept has brought together experts in the areas of animal and human health. It has provided a new synthesis for public health and veterinary communities across the world. Health initiatives have majorly focused on veterinarians, medical doctors and public health professional. However, the Environmental Health profession has a major role to play in Health activities based on Uganda's experiences.

Narrative Exposure Therapy’s application was discovered by a research on African refugee’s settlement. NET was noted to help people who have been traumatized confront their painful memories and feelings than Supportive Counseling and Psycho education. Narrative Exposure Therapy uses techniques that aim at reducing the level of distress with memories of the event and quelling the resultant physiological reactions through narration and exposure. NET has also been noted to be better than other types of psychotherapy and psychosocial interventions in post conflict settings. Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET) a short-term treatment for post-traumatic stress disorder can be applied in low and middle income, in post conflict settings. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of NET in reducing symptoms of PTSD and depression among bereaved adolescents in selected children’s homes. The study took place in 8 children’s homes in Kajiado County, Kenya. The sample size was 154 bereaved adolesdents aged 12-18 years. All the respondents provided informed consent. Respondents were administered a socio demographic questionaire which captured the age, gender, level of education, and respondents status of significant others. University of California Loss Angeles (UCLA) Post Traumatic Stress Disorder Reaction Index was used to identify the types of traumatic events that bereaved adolescents had experienced. NET was found effective in reducing symptoms of PTSD as seen in reduced mean scores from base-line 3.1923 ± (SD: .55963)) to mid-line 2.2308 ± (SD: .50768) and from mid-line to end-line 1.4359 ± (SD: .49908). The reduction was statistically significant at p=0.0001. NET was effective in reducing symptoms of depression as seen in reduced mean scores of the experimental group at base-line (3.04), mid-line (2.39) and end-line (1.23) seen in p=0.0001 compared to the control group. This study confirmed that NET as an effective treatment of PTSD among bereaved adolescents and it is therefore recommended that mental health workers should apply NET in adolescents specifically bereaved and presenting with PTSD symptoms.

Using Fourier transforms, the evolution of linearized perturbations in a thermally stratified magnetohydrodynamic shear flow is solved as an initial value problem. The resulting equation in terms of the Fourier amplitudes is solved for the case of bounded couette flow with a point source of the field of transverse velocity, density and temperature. Solutions are obtained for small values of Alfve?n velocity and Brunt Vaisala frequency. The velocity plots are drawn for different values of Alfve?n velocity and Brunt frequency.
