The Role of Corporate Social Responsibility on Firms Financial Performance in Pakistan
The paper investigates the impact of corporate social responsibility on firms’ financial performances in Pakistan. The data of 50 companies listed in Karachi stock exchange are used over the time 2005-2013. Return on equity, and return on asset is used as a proxy of company’s financial performance. Whereas, community performance, environment management system and employee relations are taken as a proxy of corporate social responsibility. The data is collected from the annual financial statements published by the companies. The community performance, environment management system and employee relations confirm significant positive relationship with return on equity. The community performance confirms a significant positive relationship with return on asset; environment management system proves significant positive; on contrary, employee relation is insignificant and has no role in firms’ financial performances. The results conclude the significant role of corporate social responsibility on the firms’ financial performance in developing countries.

Total time minimizing fuzzy transportation problem
This paper develops a new technique for the time minimizing in fuzzy transportation problems using triangular fuzzy number. The procedure involves the fuzzy active transportation routes which are based on moving from basic fuzzy feasible solution to another till the last solutions arrived. A numerical example, illustrating the method is also included.

Treatment of Pharmaceutical Industry Effluent using Phytoremediation Technology in Manmade Wetland
Wetlands have played a significant role as natural purification systems. The aim of this study was to analyze the phytoremoval effectiveness by Typha angustata and Phragmites australis to treat Pharmaceutical industry effluent in CW systems as vertical flow subsurface treatment. Local wetland soil in CW showed significant improvement in all parameters. Phragmites australis gave 98.36% reduction in COD and 98.93% BOD whereas Ammonical Nitrogen and organic Nitrogen were 99.39% and 86.84% respectively. Treatment using Typha angustata reduces COD 94.18% and 72.17% BOD while Ammonical Nitrogen and organic Nitrogen were reduced 97.3% and 41.21% respectively. The results were also statistically verified using one-way ANOVA and 2 tailed Student’s t test Analysis. The study shows that Pharmaceutical industry effluents can be treated in vertical flow subsurface wetland with Phragmites australis,as it gives best reduction in all the parameters of water with retention time of 7HRT. KEYWORDS: Ammonical Nitrogen, Constructed wetlands (CW),COD, Subsurface-flow.

Twisted para-tubal cyst: An unusual cause of pelvic pain during pregnancy
The twist of a para-tubal cyst is an uncommon situation that must be evoked for any pelvic pain for a young woman. Pelvic ultrasound coupled with the Doppler must be realized at first. Ovarian cyst and tubal cyst are the main differential diagnoses. We report the case of a young woman of 36 weeks of amenorrhea, who consulted for a progressive right iliac pit pains. The diagnosis of twisted para tubal cyst was confirmed by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).

A comparative study on growth and survival performance of swordtail fish, Xiphophorus helleri, fed with Artemia and fairy shrimp nauplii as supplementary food
A feeding experiment was conducted on larvae of swordtail fish, Xiphophorus helleri, to evaluate the effect of two different live feed on growth and survival rate of the fish. Larval were fed thrice a day with Asian star feed powder and twice a day (morning and evening) with either Artemia or fairy shrimp nauplii as a supplementary feed for 45 days. Tests were run in triplicate and initial and final weights were recorded for all the treatments. Results indicated that there was a significant difference between fish fed with fairy shrimp nauplii and Artemia nauplii (P<0.01). The survival of the fish was not affected by the dietary treatments.

A Fungal Study on the Astacus leptodactylus in Ag?n Region of the Keban Dam Lake, Turkey
Fifty female crayfish (46.20 ± 1.37 g live mass) which caught from Ag?n Region of the Keban Dam Lake (Elaz?g, Turkey) in March of 2011were examined in the laboratory to evaluate their health status. The exoskeleton was observed for Saprolegnia spp. Mycological investigations demonstrated the presence of hyphae in the area of the abdomen. Saprolegnia spp. was isolated from lesions in infected eggs. Mortalities occurred in fiberglass tanks, after 4 weeks respectively, in the female infected crayfish, with approximately a 38 % cumulative mortality rate (in the last week). In both cases the crayfish were weak, anorexic and lethargic. The main cause of mortality was lesions in infected eggs. Other causes associated with mortality likely can be stressing factors (handling, feeding etc.) in the laboratory.

A Preliminary study of denoising technique
Denoising an image is a crucial issue as images are widely used in various fields. Denoising deals with noise estimation and removing noise from it. While removing the noise it should preserve the sharpness and clarity of an image. This paper provides the image enhancement techniques with the estimation techniques. Various filtering approaches are suggested to remove the Gaussian additive as well as Gaussian multiplicative noise.

A validated stability-indicating HPLC assay method for Nicardipine Hydrochloride in bulk drug and dosage form
An isocratic reversed phase stability-indicating high-performance liquid chromatographic (HPLC) assay method was developed and validated for quantitative determination of Nicardipine hydrochloride in bulk drugs and the degradation products generated from forced decomposition. An isocratic, reversed phase HPLC method was developed to separate the drug from the degradation products, using an Waters Symmetry shield C18 (250 x 4.6)mm,5u column and the mobile phase containing the of mixture of triethylamine-phosphoric acid buffer (pH-3.5 by orthophosphoric acid, acetonitrile (35:65,v/v). The detection was carried out at wavelength 353 nm. The Nicardipine hydrochloride was subjected to stress conditions of hydrolysis (acid, base), oxidation (50 % H2O2).The degradation was observed for buclizine hydrochloride in base and negligible degradation observed 50 % H2O2. The mass balance was close to 100 in all the stress conditions. The degraded products were well resolved from main peak. The developed method was validated with respect to linearity, accuracy (recovery), precision, system suitability, selectivity, robustness and forced degradation studies prove the stability indicating ability of the method.

Addiction, stress and subjective wellbeing
There is a large body of empirical research on Stress and Subjective Wellbeing (SWB), how stress affects the SWB of an individual and how individual with high SWB cope stress effectively. This study is based on the idea that the Stress is very likely to affect the SWB in Substance Addiction. Research has shown how people get trapped with Addiction in order to reduce stress, and these addictions negatively affect their physical and mental wellbeing. The aim of the present study was to study the effect of addiction and stress on subjective wellbeing. Considering this view the data was collected from Addicted and Non Addicted individuals. In Indian context, male are in the larger risk of addiction at the age of their adulthood, thus, 30 male adult with addiction and 30 male adult with non addiction were taken as the sample. Subjective Wellbeing Inventory (SUBI) and Hari Stress Inventory (HSI) were used to measure subjective well being and stress respectively. It was found that stress had a significant effect upon the subjective wellbeing.
