This article reviews about the medical laboratory training in Kenya.

The goal of the present study is to conduct a comprehensive examination of reliability and validity of Malay language version of adjusted workplace happiness scales developed by Pryce-Jones (2010) in Malaysian school setting. Therefore a translated and adjusted version of established content and concurrent validity scale was used. Exploratory factor analysis in Malaysian secondary school teachers sample was conducted to examine convergent and discriminant validity of translated and adjusted version of the workplace happiness scales. Following this, the reliabilities and subscale intercorrelations were determined. Next, the reliabilities and nomological validity was evaluated. The overall pattern of results indicated that the Malay language adjusted workplace happiness scale version was reasonably reliable and valid in Malaysian school settings.

The molecular vibrations of 2,6-dimethyl pyridine was investigated by FT-IR and FT-Raman spectroscopies. Normal co-ordinate calculations of 2,6-dimethyl pyridine have been carried out using wilson’s FG matrix mechanism on the basis of General valence Force Field (GVFF) for both in-plane and out-of-plane vibrations. The potential energy constants obtained in this study are refined using numerical methods.

The aneurysms of the digestive visceral arteries constitute a rare vascular pathology, since they represent only 5% of all the aneurysms. The rupture remains the most formidable complication. The treatment is essentially based on conventional or endovascular surgery. This is a report of 4 cases presenting an aneurysm of different visceral arteries managed in the department of vascular surgery of the Mohammed VI-Oujda CHU.The mean age was 41 years, (30-57 years mean with SD), sex ratio is at 1, and two patients had a specific aneurysm related symptomatology with pulsatile abdominal mass and systolic murmur. The location of the aneurysms was variable with two cases of the splenic artery, one of the superior mesenteric artery and one of the cystic artery. The diagnosis was madein three patients by the abdominal ultrasound, supplemented by the CT-scann, and once by the abdominal CT- scann immediately. Three patients were treated surgically with resection of the aneurysm without restoration of continuity. The goal of DAA treatment is to prevent risk of rupture associated to a high mortality. The risk of rupture depends on the location, type, and etiology of the aneurysm.Atherosclerosis has the main etiology of digestive aneurysms, followed by mycotic and post-traumatic aneurysms. Fibromuscular dysplasia remains a rare and poorly understood entity.Surgical treatment is the therapy of choice. Endovascular techniques have developed and are being used successfully. They have indications more and more wide in the treatment of aneurisms of the digestive arteries.The advent of endovascular treatment has significantly increased the percentage of patients treated for aneurysm of the digestive arteries, thus reducing morbidity and mortality in patients at high surgical risk.

The women entrepreneurship development is influenced by many complicated factors including economical, social, cultural and physiological prevailing in the society. Keeping this in view, the present study focused on the motivating factors influencing women entrepreneurship and these identified factors were Autonomy and Adequate Income, Flexible Working Environment, Opportunities to use & develop human capacity, Inducement of Empowerment and growth and Promotion of Societal Responsiveness and moreover, women entrepreneurs were also encountered with certain problems which are discussed in detail in this paper.

A wireless sensor network (WSN) consists of spatially distributed autonomous sensors to monitor physicalor environmental conditions, such as temperature, sound, pressure, PIR etc. and to cooperatively pass their data through the network to a main location. The development of wireless sensor networks was motivated by military applications such as battlefield surveillance; today such networks are used in many industrial and consumer applications, such as industrial process monitoring and control, machine health monitoring, and so on. The WSN is built of "nodes" from a few to several hundreds or even thousands, where each node is connected to one (or sometimes several) sensors. Each such sensor network node has typically several parts: a radio transceiver with an internal antenna or connection to an external antenna, a microcontroller, an electronic circuit for interfacing with the sensors and an energy source, usually a battery or an embedded form of energy harvesting. A sensor node might vary in size from that of a shoebox down to the size of a grain of dust, although functioning "motes" of genuine microscopic dimensions have yet to be created. The cost of sensor nodes is similarly variable, ranging from a few to hundreds of dollars, depending on the complexity of the individual sensor nodes. Size and cost constraints on sensor nodes result in corresponding constraints on resources such as energy, memory, computational speed and communications bandwidth. The topology of the WSNs can vary from a simple star network to an advanced multi-hop wireless mesh network. The propagation technique between the hops of the network can be routing or flooding.

Tracheoesophageal fistula is a life threatening condition. Patients not managed surgically ultimately die of their disease. Surgical management is the only treatment of choice. We present a case of a patient that developed a tracheoesophageal fistula after tracheostomy. Surgical repair was done which failed due to infection. The patient was managed with the help of an esophageal stent and Trichloroacetic Acid cautery. This approach can be used in selected patients, depending upon the size and site of TEF. Larger fistulae and those situated lower down e.g. supra cardinal cannot be managed by this technique.

Having a child with disability in a family is not the same as having a child without a disability. Parents of disabled children after knowing that their children have disability, develop highly ambivalent feelings towards their babies. Parent’s social life becomes restricted, and feelings of social rejection and isolation may follow. Parents having a child with mental retardation experience a variety of stressors and stress reactions related to the child’s disability and the parents have the feelings of guilt, anxiety, hostility, and insecurity. Having a child with autism also found to be a significant financial burden to the family. Parents of children with autism are more likely to use avoidant coping strategies that may have a negative impact on the marital relationship. Parents may feel self-conscious about taking a child with autism out into the community. An attempt has been made to present a critical analysis of a preliminary review of epidemiological studies on psychological distress in parents of children with mental retardation and autism.

The outline of the determined boundary of the Iranian snowflake was formed in the previous chapter. Now, another quadrangle rotation around whose axis perfects the main context of the architecture is introduced: the fancy of the work. The mind of the architect is required to have an imagination based on the subject of the design in regards to the users to create the initial embryo in the scope of the first stage’s conditions to create the entire work. This is the most sensitive part of the designing and leads to the fundamental difference in the works of designers because as we mentioned, chaotic systems are extremely sensitive to initial conditions and any slight difference in initial conditions of the formation of the system can lead to fundamental transformations in the final product. This stage is the stage of patterning or creation of fancy. The term fancy is chosen to define the mental pattern founding the design because it simultaneously covers cogitation, concept, imagination and fantasy.

People affected with Diabetes Mellitus use Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) devices for monitoring of their blood glucose level. The currently available CGM devices show the current glycemic level of the user and produce alarm whenever the glycemic level exceeds the normal range or is in increasing or decreasing trend. Some devices do prediction of the glucose value some time slots ahead and give an alarm of the impending Hypo/ Hyper glycemia situation. But the true scenario is that the success is only 50% due to false alarms or missing alarms. With the understanding that CGM data do have errors when the rate of change is high, in our study, we have tried the prediction of glucose levels ahead in time without intervention through Auto Regressive Integrated Moving Average (ARIMA) Model with its parameters optimized with Differential Evolution. The Method is validated with Simulated data obtained from the web based Diabetes Educator. First half of the data set is used for training and the remaining half is used for testing. Mean Absolute Difference (MAD) between the predicted and actual glucose values is used as the performance metric. The experiments conducted showed promising results with MAD in the range of 6 to 10.3. The prediction accuracy can be improved by increasing the number of iterations and the optimum selection of scaling factor.
