Good quality single crystals of glycine sodium nitrate a new semiorganic nonlinear optical (NLO) crystal has been successfully grown from aqueous solution by slow evaporation method. The structural characterization of the grown crystals was carried out by X-ray diffraction. The grown crystals were subjected to FTIR for vibrational assignments. The optical properties were studied for the SHG efficiency. It is found that the cutoff wavelength lies in the UV region. The mechanical response of the crystal has been studied using Vickers microhardness technique.

Caralluma atteunata extract have been reported to have antihyperglycemic effect. White albino rats were rendered diabetic by intraperitoneal administration of alloxan (120 mg/kg body weight). Oral administration of ethanolic extract of Caralluma atteunata 500 mg/kg body wt was given orally for 30 days. Experimental results showed that, alloxan significantly elevated the blood sugar level whereas treatment with ethanolic extract of Caralluma atteunata (500 mg/kg body wt.) depressed the alloxan induced high blood sugar level and also it shows the marked changes in the level of Insulin, Hemoglobin, Glycosylated hemoglobin, urea, protein, Hexokinase, Pyruvate kinase, Glucose-6-phophatase, Fructose 1, 6 biphosphatase and glucose 6 phosphate dehydrogenase. This study strongly suggests that the ethanolic extract of Caralluma atteunata attributed its prominent hypoglycemic activity on experimental diabetic rats through suppression of gluconeogenesis and stimulation of glucose oxidation using the pentose phosphate pathway.

This study investigates the impact of brand attributes on consumer. The objective of the study were to determine whether brand loyalty, perceived quality and brand awareness will jointly and independently predict purchase intention. The study employed survey research. Primary data was used for the study and questionnaire as research instrument. The sample surveys were 550 students of Ajayi Crowther University, Oyo. The 5 hypotheses formulated for the study were tested with Pearson’s regression, multiple regression and analysis of variance (ANOVA) with the aid of Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). The findings from the study showed that independent variables i.e. Brand loyalty, perceived quality and brand awareness are significant and will jointly and independently predict purchase intention. The findings indicated significant relationship between brand loyalty and purchase intention. The study also reveals that there is main and interactive effect of brand loyalty and perceived quality on purchase intention.

Rotenoids are group of natural insecticidal compounds. Six rotenoids (deguelin, dehydrodeguelin, rotenol, rotenone, tephrosin and sumatrol) were isolated and identified from callus cultures of Lablab purpureus L using chromatographic and spectroscopic techniques. Growth Index (GI) of in vitro grown cultures showed a sigmoid pattern of growth curve with maximum GI at 4 weeks and minimum at 2 weeks old culture after fresh subculturings. Gradual decrease in rotenoid content with age and passage of subculturings of the tissues was observed on maintaining the callus for a period of 12 months. Use of various treatment doses of amino acid precursors (phenylalanine and methionine) and immobilization of cell cultures significantly increased the rotenoid content in callus culture. Immobilization of in vitro grown cells released the rotenoids in the medium, which was ideally found useful in maintaining the cell culture and harvesting the insecticides from the nutrient medium.

For many years, actinobacteria were best known as a source of large numbers of antibiotics. More recently, they have been found to be a promising source of a wide range of important enzymes. Studies on proteolytic marine actinobacteria especially in the southeast coast of Tamilnadu have not been carried out adequately. Actinobacteria were isolated from the flesh content of the Mud crab, Scylla serrata. This is first report on isolation of protease producing actinobacteria from crab. These crabs have a high tolerance to both nitrate and ammonia. Partial purification of the enzyme by DEAE Cellulose yielded 2.16-fold purity. Streptomyces nigellus showed highest enzyme activity at pH7 and 40°C. Out of the 7 morphological different strains, the strain LK-3 which was tentatively identified as Streptomyces nigellus showed protease activity. Therefore, the present study was undertaken to isolate the proteolytic actinobacteria from the crab.

This study aims to determine the moderating effects of mother’s age on the relationships between maternal parenting style and adolescent’s self-efficacy. Participants included 382 school-going adolescents with an average age of 14.27 years. The data was collected by using multi-stage cluster sampling. Results revealed that maternal authoritative and authoritarian mothers tend to foster high level of self-efficacy. Nontheless, no significant moderating effect was found for mother’s age. The current study underscore the need to focus on the role of parenting style and adolescents’ self-efficacy especially in Asian countries.

In this study, we aim to examine the employee’s on-the-job training courses effectiveness in returning the organizational profit. The statistical sample volume, the entire 40 people of the production line operators in the SAIPA Malibel Company who presented in this course, was included. The sampling approach, head count according to scientific principles, was performed. In line with this research basic goal, the findings of the research were achieved in order to provide the necessary feedbacks on the same systems and industries. Hence, the statistical analysis was done not only to answer the defined questions, but also to generalize the findings and data on the wider statistical society and/or other industries with the similar function, the analysis in which we enjoyed the statistical approach with the confidence coefficient of 95%. This research findings were measured using the questionnaire tools examining the learners satisfaction of the course and the reliability of the questionnaire was calculated using approach of Cronbach’s alpha and the statistical software for the social sciences and also the coefficient 0.783 was obtained. Tests, learning and the learners’ behavioral change were performed based on pair t-test. The study results showed the effectiveness of the employees’ course with the return on investment rate of 78.71.

At present study first, some physical properties of four varieties of peanut (pod and kernel) were measured at initial moisture content. Afterwards, the required force for initial rupturing of the peanut kernels under compression loading was determined as a function of kernel moisture content (between 7 and 35% w.b.) and compression load direction. The compression load was applied laterally containing the suture line (direction 1), perpendicular to direction 1 (direction 2) and longitudinally through the hilum (direction 3). Results showed that Iraqi 1 variety had the highest value of rupture force for both kernel and pod. Also, it was observed that there was a strongly polynomial relationship between rupture force and kernel moisture content for whole tested varieties. The average values of the rupture force at direction 2 were 61, 60, 64 and 57% higher than direction 3 for Goli, Valencia, Iraqi 1 and Iraqi 2 varieties, respectively. Considering peanut kernels, the rapture force required to initiate rupturing was less at direction 3 than directions 1 and 2, therefore it is proposed that cracking operation should be performed along this direction.

The conduction polymer Polypyrrole base is soluble in selected organic solvents. The Polypyrrole becomes conductive upon partial oxidation or reduction by a processcommonly known as doping. The Polypyrrole base was doped by chemical method usingHydrochloric acid (HCl) as a dopant. The doped conducting polymer was dissolved inthree selective organic solvents namely p-Cresol (PCL), Dimethyl sulphoxide (DMSO)and 2-Chlorophenol (2CPL). The variation in the ultrasonic velocity values measured using fixed frequency (3MHz) continuous wave ultrasonic interferometer techniquewith temperature and their related thermodynamic parameters have been discussed with a view to understand the molecular interactions of the conduction polymers in solutions. Hence the acoustic properties of Polypyrrole base and its doped polymer in solutions will pave the way to obtain possibly a new product ideas and benefits over the traditional polymers.
