Streptococcus mutans (s. mutans) and Streptococcus sanguis(S.sanguis) are two important bacteria of the oral microflora. S. mutans is the most important cause of dental caries and S. sanguis is one of the major bacteria that play an important role in formation of microbial plaque. The aim of this study is to determine the effect of cigar and cigarette smoke on the growth of streptococcus mutans and streptococcus sanguis. The standard strains of s.mutans (ATCC25175) and sanguis(ATCC10550) were cultured on blood agar and incubated for 48h in different environments: atmospheric air, microaerophillic, carbon dioxide, cigar and three type of cigarette smoke (Winston ,ultralight Winston and kent). Then digital photographs of the colonies were taken and the diameter of the colonies was measured. Data were analyzed using post hoc and general linear model statistical tests. Both cigar and cigarette smoke significantly increased the growth of s.mutans and s.snguis (p=0/000). In almost all environments except cigar smoke, the growth of s.mutans was more than s.sanguis. The diameter of s.mutans colonies in dioxide ,microaerophilic, cigar and cigarette smoke (Winston,ultra light wniston and kent) showed in order: 82%, 65%, 69%, 106%, 92% increase and the diameter of s.sanguis showed in order: 45%, 53%, 137%, 89%, 40%, 55% increase. These findings indicate that cigarette smoke increases the s.mutans/s.sanguis ratio but cigar smoke decreases this ratio.

The use of information systems has led to the recognition of the importance of quality management in the competitive environment. However, only few companies have taken actions to measure and enhance the quality of information& technology. One of the main attributes that a company with good efficiency could have is that it could expand the information & technology services from its business strategies, goals and needs. The main objective of this paper is to present relationship between objective, decision and performance for all hierarchical levels within a company, by identifying key factors and performance indicators, and present information tools that support performance management and decision making.

Nowadays, consumption of fried potatoes is highly growing and due to its high oil uptake during the process, it makes a lot of calories which are harmful to human Health; so, attempts to reduce the amount of absorbed oil will improve the health of society. In this research the effect of Psyllium seed hydrocolloid as coating material (0.5, 1%), changes in slices dimensions (6×1.25×1.25, 6×1.5×1.5) and predrying (reducing moisture to 60%) are assessed on the oil uptake by potatoes in the deep fat frying process individually and together. Results show that coating by Psyllium seed hydrocolloid due to its blocking nature causes decreasing the loss of moisture during the frying while water can control the amount of absorbed oil. Increasing in the concentration of hydrocolloid solution decreased the efficiency of frying, moisture (resulted from coating) and the tissue smoothness. Taste and color improved by predrying. The loss of moisture, the amount of coating and reduction in absorbed oil, also increased. Reducing in slices dimensions increased the efficiency of frying, coating percent and the tissue smoothness.

This paper contemplates a single vendor single buyer integrated production inventory problem with stochastic demand and transportation cost. Instead of constant lead time, it is assumed to be proportional to the size of vendor’s batch in each cycle. That is, lead time is composed of a lot size dependent run time and constant delay times such as moving, waiting and setup times. Transportation takes a crucial part in the manipulation of supply chain. The operation of transportation determines the efficiency of moving products. The problem is to find the number of shipments m, shipment size Q, safety factor k and the reorder point r. The objective is to minimize the joint total relevant cost incurred in the supply chain. A solution procedure is mentioned for solving the proposed model. Finally a numerical example is provided to illustrate the proposed model.

Therefore, this article reviews the insurance company in Zahedan, with an emphasis on human relations marketing, as well as surveys the impact of human resource characteristics on sales, customer loyalty and ultimately profitability.

My article explores the predicament of the marginalized women in the major plays of Tennessee Williams- one of the most prolific American dramatists of the 20th century. In his three major plays- “The Glass menagerie’, “A streetcar named desire” and “Summer and Smoke” we witness the women who live with a sense of despair- trapped and displaced by the patriarchal norms of the American society. Though Williams does not openly champion the rights of the woman in his plays, he however strongly empathizes with their marginalized existence in the contemporary society. They are portrayed as helpless figures, who have no control over their destinies and are alienated in their social circles. Blanche, Stella, Amanda, Laura and Alma are delicate and sensitive women who struggle their best to adjust with the society- but in the long run are misunderstood, rejected and victimized in the male-dominated American society. They inhabit a world of men, who are indifferent to their needs and to their womanhood. Each of these women loses her place in the world governed by the male characters. The pathos of Blanche, Laura, Amanda and Amanda is that they refuse to acknowledge their state of passivity and continue to struggle for their dignity and social standing even when the battle seems lost.

The paper investigates the impact of corporate social responsibility on firms’ financial performances in Pakistan. The data of 50 companies listed in Karachi stock exchange are used over the time 2005-2013. Return on equity, and return on asset is used as a proxy of company’s financial performance. Whereas, community performance, environment management system and employee relations are taken as a proxy of corporate social responsibility. The data is collected from the annual financial statements published by the companies. The community performance, environment management system and employee relations confirm significant positive relationship with return on equity. The community performance confirms a significant positive relationship with return on asset; environment management system proves significant positive; on contrary, employee relation is insignificant and has no role in firms’ financial performances. The results conclude the significant role of corporate social responsibility on the firms’ financial performance in developing countries.

This paper develops a new technique for the time minimizing in fuzzy transportation problems using triangular fuzzy number. The procedure involves the fuzzy active transportation routes which are based on moving from basic fuzzy feasible solution to another till the last solutions arrived. A numerical example, illustrating the method is also included.

Wetlands have played a significant role as natural purification systems. The aim of this study was to analyze the phytoremoval effectiveness by Typha angustata and Phragmites australis to treat Pharmaceutical industry effluent in CW systems as vertical flow subsurface treatment. Local wetland soil in CW showed significant improvement in all parameters. Phragmites australis gave 98.36% reduction in COD and 98.93% BOD whereas Ammonical Nitrogen and organic Nitrogen were 99.39% and 86.84% respectively. Treatment using Typha angustata reduces COD 94.18% and 72.17% BOD while Ammonical Nitrogen and organic Nitrogen were reduced 97.3% and 41.21% respectively. The results were also statistically verified using one-way ANOVA and 2 tailed Student’s t test Analysis. The study shows that Pharmaceutical industry effluents can be treated in vertical flow subsurface wetland with Phragmites australis,as it gives best reduction in all the parameters of water with retention time of 7HRT. The twist of a para-tubal cyst is an uncommon situation that must be evoked for any pelvic pain for a young woman. Pelvic ultrasound coupled with the Doppler must be realized at first. Ovarian cyst and tubal cyst are the main differential diagnoses. We report the case of a young woman of 36 weeks of amenorrhea, who consulted for a progressive right iliac pit pains. The diagnosis of twisted para tubal cyst was confirmed by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).
