Breakdown mechanism in air insulating medium by an experimental study
Various phenomena occur in Air dielectric when a voltage is applied. When low voltage is applied, small current flows between the electrodes and the insulation retains its electrical properties. If the applied voltage is large, the current flowing through the insulation increases very sharply and an electrical breakdown occur. A strongly conducting spark formed during breakdown, practically produces a short circuit between the electrodes. The maximum voltage applied to the insulation at the moment of breakdown is called the breakdown voltage. For a uniform gap, the effect of humidity on the breakdown voltage is negligible. For non-uniform gaps such as rod-sphere, point-sphere like gaps the influence of humidity is found to be of significant. A correction procedure recommended by IEC is commonly used for converting the measured voltage or the test voltage from non-standard to standard reference atmosphere. So the result in analysis is then corrected into the standard reference conditions [in STP].

Building up connections in the mind of the learner; a method to improve mathematics’ understanding
Understanding in mathematics is mainly concerned with building up connections between mathematical concepts. Literature reveals if we are succeeded in embedding one mathematical concept into another then this lead to better understanding in mathematics. In pursuance of this idea twenty pre-lectures were prepared from grade 10th level mathematics textbook keeping in view the predictions of information processing model. In each pre-lecture efforts were made to build up connections between the previous, existing and coming mathematical concepts. To find out the effectiveness of pre-lectures and to in-depth the students concepts twenty post-tests were prepared keeping in view Blooms’ taxonomy. The subjects of this study consisted of two secondary schools in Cantt/ Garrison setup Peshawar Pakistan. The whole sample (n=114) consisted of boys (n=78) and girls (n=36). The boys’ sample (n=78) further divided into with pre-lecture group (n=39) and without pre-lecture group (n=39). Similarly the girls’ sample further divided into with pre-lecture group (n= 18) and without pre-lecture group (n=18). The data collection was continued through out the whole academic session 2011-12. The data analysis was made by using t-test at 5% level of significance. The results revealed as whole the students with pre-lecture performed significantly better than the students without pre-lecture. The findings outlined that the use of pre-lecture strengthened mathematical connections, which further enhanced their understanding in mathematics.

Co-curriculum management practiced by principle in level secondary schools
Co-curriculum is an important learning component in order to help develop a pupil in full in terms of physical, spiritual, mental, emotional and enhancing values. This study aims to discuss the process element management curriculum of planning, organizing, directing and controlling by co-curriculum’s management team in school of the components human, physical and financial. This study focus on principals role which have to apply the elements of planning, organizing, directing and control in the manage school curriculum. Best practices of principals include planning, organizing, directing and controlling the extra-curricular activities at school. In conclusion, the best practice principals play a role very important in order to produce excellent students as envisaged in Philosophy National Education.

Collaborative Writing Assessment: A Forum for Critical Practice
In this information era in which people are facing huge amounts of incoming information and communicating too many people who are trying to convince others, teachers’ ability to think and to teach critically gains an ever greater saliency as a prime goal of education. To this end, the present study was an attempt to investigate whether collaborative assessment can enhance teachers’ critical thinking abilities through empowering them. The collected data consisted of think aloud protocols of 24 individual and 12 collaborative raters. The results were qualitatively analyzed in search of themes relevant to empowerment as a critical educational practice among raters/teachers. Transcription of think aloud protocols, comments written down by raters, marginal notes of papers, and qualitative analyses revealed that collaborative assessment as an activity in EFL pedagogy seems to empower raters and provide them with opportunities to express their ‘voice’. The findings of this study provide insight into a more effective assessment which contribute to enhancing teachers/raters’ critical thinking and present suggestions for further research.

Congruence lattices of uniform lattices
In this Chapater we prove two important results. Let L be a lattice. A congruence of L is said to be uniform, if any two congruence classes of are of the same size. The lattice L is said to be uniform, if all congruences of L are uniform. We prove that every finite distributive lattice D can be represented as the congruence lattice of a finite uniform lattice.

Control of fruit drop in hot pepper (Capsicum frutescens) via Intercropping
The study was carried out to evaluate various selected crops which were used as intercrops to control fruit drop in hot pepper (Capsicum frutescens). A Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) was used. There were six treatments and four replications. The treatments were control (pepper), Pepper-tomato, Pepper-mint, Pepper-citronella, Pepper-onion and Pepper-garden eggs intercrops. It was observed that there were significant differences between the mean total number and weight of harvested marketable pepper fruits but the other means were not significantly different for the other parameters that were observed. Pepper-citronella recorded the highest number of harvested pepper fruits. Pepper-tomato intercrop recorded the least number of harvested pepper fruits. Percentage fruit drop in the pepper fruit was high in all treatments.

Cross-cultural Differences in Managing Businesses: Applying Hofstede Cultural Analysis in Germany, Canada, South Korea and Morocco Abstract Recently, expansion to new markets is a common thing for international business. Nevertheless, any decision to expand should be preceded by a thorough analysis of all possible obstacles. Culture is among the most significant factors influencing the business model. Therefore, it is of critical importance to demonstrate cross-cultural competence while making any decision to establish business in a foreign country. The purpose of this study is aimed at providing support for the decision-making process related to expanding business to other countries. This study utilizes Hofstede cultural analysis applied to four countries including Germany, Canada, South Korea and Morocco. Basing on the findings it is possible to better understand the peculiarities of each country in terms of their cultural differences including the following factors: power distance, individualism, masculinity/femininity, uncertainty avoidance, long term orientation and indulgence. The results of analysis are gathered in a table offering brief information on each reviewed country. Moreover, this paper reviews business opportunities and potential conflicts in the above-mentioned countries. Degrees of q- fuzzy groups over implications operator of [0,1]
In this paper, we introduce the notion of degree to which a Q- fuzzy subset is a Q- fuzzy group by means of the implication operator of [0,1]. A Q-fuzzy subset A in a group G is a Q- fuzzy group if and only if its subgroup degree dg(A) = 1. Some properties of subgroup degree are investigated.

Design of hydraulic jump type stilling basin at Warana canal
Hydraulic jump type energy dissipaters are widely accepted methods of energy dissipation while designing the hydraulic structures like dams, weirs and barrages. They are popular for their simplicity and efficiency, but have certain limitations when there is variation in discharge conditions. The energy dissipaters satisfactorily function at design discharge condition. But in case of varying discharge conditions they are not efficient as the location of hydraulic jump tends to shift on apron. This would result in percentage reduction in energy dissipation and in turn damage hydraulic structures and adversely affect tail channel conditions. Therefore it is necessary to address the issue of controlling the location of hydraulic jump and evolve a new technique for the same. This paper discusses the design of hydraulic jump type stilling basin for the overflow weir of canal escape at Warana dam (India). It also throws light on the aspect of jump location and percentage energy dissipation. A physical model study is carried out by applying Froude’s model law.

Determining process variation via statistical process control
This research is carried out to study the used of SPC tools towards identifying the variation in quality finished product at Bio-organic fertilizer company. The objectives of this research are to analyze and monitor quality of finished product using Xbar R chart and identify the relationship between variables using scatter diagram. Data was obtained from Quality Department through finished product of 5.5.5PE from January 2008 until December 2008. This finished product can be measure according to pH, moisture, and crash. SPSS version 11.5 software has been used to analyze and interpret the data into control chart and scatter diagram. The unstructured interview with respective workers was done in order to support the data analysis. The finding revealed that the SPC tools can determine process variation in finished product through systematical analysis with more accurately. Since All Cosmos has no specific tool to analyze the data, it is suitable for them to implement this tool.
