The Lineage and Buddhism in Sri Lanka
The conventional thinking on the ‘gnatisisya Parampara’(hereditary succession) and Shiyanishiya Parampara (pupillary Succession) tradition in the kandyan area is that it was primarily, economically determined. But this research will inquire into the structure of political power and legitimacy, social factors- both caste and service tenor system, internal fraternity conflict and external forces that draw these parties onto conflicts paving the way for the formation of their lineage tradition. The new sectarianism was possible not only because of caste mobility in society but also because the colonial state was prepared to promote such division and competition to legal recognition.

This folk merit anew consideration Strategies that NON-NESTs use to maintain their proficiency in English
The case of Non-native English Speaking Teachers (Non-NESTs) teaching English in EFL contexts deserves more attention and research. While it has been argued that these teachers do have their competitive edge, their unique situation has always been underplayed on the notion of the image of a line along which non-natives move towards the native end. The downside of the story is that their linguistic environment is dominated by L1 through life and ridden with errors (student errors when using L2) through work. Yet, they are expected to maintain and improve their proficiency in English and function as perfect models for students. A possible way in which they do this is through strategy use. This study attempts to shed light on the strategies for success local English teachers gradually develop to cope with their unique situation. 23 experienced local teachers of English and 23 advanced non-teachers both Iranian and both balanced by a proficiency test took an 80-item strategy inventory for language learning. The result showed contrastive strategy use for each group. To find out the details of this difference, qualitative analysis was used which highlights the strategies for success which local teachers gradually develop to manage their unique situation.

Trace element characterization of crude oil, petroleum products and waste from the Tema Oil Refinery in Ghana using instrumental neutron activation analysis
A total of 14 different Petroleum samples comprising of 4 crude oil blends, 7 refined products and 3 wastes from the Tema oil refinery were analyzed for 27 elements using Instrumental Neutron Activation Analysis (INAA). Based on the results obtained and analytical procedure used in this work, pattern of occurrence of the metal contaminants in the petroleum products and waste suggest they are native to the crude oil and its origin as no external contamination was established. It was observed from the study and previous ones that the Brass and Bonny crude oil from Nigeria have low metal contents. However, despite the low concentrations, trace amounts of these metals could be deleterious in the refinery as they can cause corrosion, catalytic poisoning, and affect the quality of refined products. They could also contribute to environmental pollution as results of combustion of fuel products and hence should be reduced or removed.

Unique locality with charophytes in the Mount Arbel National Park, Israel
First study of new locality the Mount Arbel National Park and Nature Reserve with charophyte algae in the Lower Galilee region of Israel has been implemented for revealing of algal diversity and ecological assessment of the water object environment by bio-indication methods. Altogether twenty nine species of algae including one of them macro-algae Chara vulgaris L. were revealed in the Arbel stream. Chara was found in massive growth in the middle part of studied stream. Bio-indication and chemical variables characterize the charophyte site environment as mesotrophic to eutrophic with prevailing of benthic type of organisms of autotrophic type of nutrition, which are mostly attached of substrate and preferred slow streaming water with temperate temperature, low salinity, low alkalinity, and low to middle organic pollution, Class II-III of water quality. Seasonality of algal community and water quality showed of organic and other contaminants pollution during winter rainy period as a result of grazing impact. Charophyte community is sharp limited in its development as a result of periodical desiccation of the stream. We found unique property of Chara vulgaris to renewing after two years desiccation. We can recommend the Arbel Biblical stream for monitoring of natural aquatic object in the Lower Galilee, and Chara vulgaris as climatic indicator of surviving under future climate change.

Women, Their Character, Outlooks and Wishes in the Novel
Novels, in contemporary literature, have given us a new perspective. This is, especially, due to the presence of female writers using new story writing and narrative techniques in creating the settings. Among these is the novel under study, written by an Iranian novelist, which tends to introduce and present Iranian women’s problems and challenges. This study is, in effect, carried out on a Persian contemporary novel entitled Adat Mikonim (We’ll Get Used to It), written by Zoya Pirzad. The main character of the story is a middle-aged woman from a middle class family who is living with her daughter as well as her mother. The novel depicts the obstacles the woman faces communicating with as well as being understood by her daughter and mother.Following Hodge and Kress' (1993), the present study is carried out within the Critical Discourse framework to analyze the text. The book contains 31 chapters, out of which the first16 chapters were selected. The texts were analyzed with regard to the following properties: grammar (regarding two properties: syntagmatic models and transformations), and vocabulary (i.e., adjectives, adverbs, and verbs, with their ideological significance) The study is an attempt to depict linguistically the identity, wishes and outlooks of three women belonging to three generations, their similarities as well as differences.
