The problems of adaptation and of reduced possibilities of expression and externalizing of the psychic or somatic suffering of alexithymic patients is a special attention among specialists, being outlined a set of measures taken to reduce these deficiencies. One of the methods with curative potential on the human psyche is the music therapy, which offers endless possibilities for improving somatic and mental suffering. The interest for this art grows, more so when the latest researches finds many advantages attributable to the music, this being achieved thanks to the action of sound vibrations on the cerebral cortex, which may serve as a means of stimulation and potentiation of some intellectual and affective processes. However, the music can accomplish the major goal in achieving a cathartic process, acting as a purifier to the accumulated negative emotions, present in alexithymic patients . To develop a deeper perspective into communicative sphere, invite you to the reflection on the influence of musicby designing an intervention process in the future and awareness of how this can be done. Recently the sediment tracing has been increasingly employed as a means of establishing sediment source information. The first step of this approach is the selection of diagnostic properties, which distinguish potential sediment sources in an unequivocal manner. However the selection of the most effective properties is required in the design of cost-effective catchment management strategies. This contribution reports an attempt to address this issue by testing the discrimination of sediment source within two small drainage basins in Iran using four base cations (Na, K, Ca and Mg). By field investigation, 10 representative samples were collected from each sediment sources per catchments. Several statistical methods were applied to the data including the Kruskal-Wallis, discrimination function analysis (DFA) and multivariate stepwise selection algorithm. The results indicate that in the case of the Amrovan basin, K is the most sensitive discriminator of source type (65 %), followed in decreasing order by Na (60 %), Mg (55 %) and Ca (45 %).  In the case of the larger and more complex Atary drainage basin, Na and Mg are the best individual properties which successfully classify 54% of source material samples into the correct categories, followed in decreasing order by Ca (52 %) and K (45 %).

The thermal power plants are designed based on required conditions (like quality of steam, pressure and temperature of steam e.t.c.), but actually inlet conditions are not as per the design conditions. In practical situations, when power plants are installed there are lots of constraints. This tends to reduce or increase output power and heat rate of thermal power plants. These constraints are leakages, installation errors etc. So due to these conditions, the designed power and heat rate are never achieved. Due to these variations in the power output from plants, it is always a matter of disputes. So the correction curves for power and heat rate are generated for pressure drop in extraction line 5, as a parameter at different conditions. These curves indicate that if operating conditions are vary, then power output and heat rate also vary. This paper deals with the generation of the correction curves for 120 MW thermal power plant by using computer aided software for pressure drop in extraction line 5.

Graham Greene is a colossal figure in twentieth century literature. He is a prolific writer and has proved to be one of the main literary experts to the English speaking world. His writings are not just pieces of entertainment. They have more profound meaning and significance. Greene’s childhood seemed to be unhappy. From the events and influences of Greene’s early life readers can gather evidence of “flight, rebellion and misery during those first sixteen years when the novelists is formed.”1 Being a sensitive boy, Greene felt cramped in the environment in which he was placed. From his book of essays, The Lost Childhood and from his autobiography, A Sort of Life, we get an idea of Greene’s feeling of a sense of emptiness, boredom and lifeless depression during his early years.

The aim of the present paper is to obtain two summation formulae based on half argument involving hypergeometric function. The results derived in this paper are of general character and are believed to be new.

A plea is made for the recognition of a disorder of the colon, commonly encountered in the elderly, which is characterized by elongation (and also by dilatation) of the colon, especially the sigmoid. It may give rise to symptoms which suggest a diagnosis of carcinoma. The condition is believed to be acquired, and is an important aetiological factor in the development of sigmoid and, less frequently, of caecal volvulus. Three main colonic transfer forms were identified: slow transit in the proximal colon (STC), normal proximal colonic transit with anorectal retention (NT-AR), and rapid proximal transit ± anorectal retention (RT)

The congenital abnormalities of the aortic arch derived vascular and ligamentous structures are vascular rings. They encircle trachea and esophagus at variant degrees which results in respiratory or feeding difficulties in children. An abnormality of pulmonary arterial system results in airway compression is known as a sling. CT gives excellent spatial and temporal resolution coma a wide field of view, multi planner reconstruction capabilities and simultaneous evaluation of the airway. A brief discussion of the embryology of the branch vessels and aorta is followed by discussions and illustrations of some uncommon and common vascular rings with critical informations required by surgeons.

The cutting forces required for machining of a material are important factors in production design that need to be evaluated carefully for newly developed materials. The cutting forces directly influence the power requirement of the machine tool, tool deflection and tool wear, among other things. In this study a computational model will be developed for prediction of cutting forces in end milling of metal matrix composites. Modeling of cutting forces in milling involves evaluation of chip load, instantaneous shear angle, strain rate and temperature dependent shear stress. The computational model will be validated against experimental data from measurements of cutting forces during end milling of composites under different conditions. The validated model will then be used to conduct a parametric study on the influence of feed rate (f), depth of cutting (a), cutting speed (v), and other cutting parameters on the cutting forces generated during the end milling of composites.

This study argues for a third wave feminist interpretation of Daughter of Fortune and The House of the Spirits by Isabel Allende as two significant texts that take multiple feminist perspectives into consideration and oppose certain patriarchal systems. As will be argued, the problems faced by the female characters that relate to their personal feminism cannot be explored sufficiently by assuming that they are tossing aside their liberties. Rather, the characters and their stories are best examined by exploring how each woman can work through her problems in ways that allow her to maintain her feminist position.

The purpose of this paper is to identify competitive marketing strategies used by home-based businesses in the northern and southern suburbs of Pietermaritzburg, to help the businesses focus on the target markets they can best serve to achieve a competitive advantage. The researcher adopted an exploratory study in which both qualitative and quantitative research methods were used. The target population for this study comprised of 118 home-based businesses, operating in various industries, in the northern and southern suburbs of Pietermaritzburg. The study enabled an insight into the various types of marketing strategies employed by home-based businesses and the effectiveness of the identified marketing strategies. Through the study it was possible to determine the home-based business owner's knowledge of marketing strategies and whether they were adopting the correct strategies for their businesses in order to achieve a competitive advantage. The major findings revealed that the main challenges were the lack of finance as well as lack of marketing knowledge and skills which inadvertently had a negative impact on the choice of marketing strategies being adopted as the majority of home-based businesses relied mostly on word of mouth marketing and networking. Factor analysis carried out in the survey enabled the identification of latent factors that could affect adoption of marketing strategies. The results of the findings led to the development criteria that would enable home-based to be able to decide on the marketing mix strategies that would be suitable for their target markets.
