Surface water quality status and chemical speciation of Qua Iboe River system, Niger-Delta, Nigeria
This study assessed the surface water quality of Qua Iboe River system in the coastal Niger Delta, Nigeria. A total of 7 sampling stations were selected for the study and results obtained using FAAS revealed the following mean trace element concentrations (molar): 3.65x10–7 for Cd, 1.50x10–7 for Pb, 3.89x10–7 for Cr, 1.10x10–6 for Cu, 2.50x10–6 for Zn, 1.06x10–6 for Ni and 9.34x10–7 for Co. The ion association model based on Debye-Hückel theory using the llnl.dat database of the PHREEQCI computer program as well as the thermodynamic data was used for the chemical speciation studies. The distribution of solution species for the trace elements using the PHREEQCI model revealed that the predominant species in the river system was the free ions of Ni2+(97.6%), Co2+(97.7%), Zn2+(92.6%), Cu2+(70.2%), Cu+(81.2%) and Pb2+(62.0%) as well as the hydroxy species, CrOH2+(58.7%) and chloride species, CdCl2+(82.3%). From the model calculations, atacamite, CdCr2O7, CuCr2O7, PbHPO4, ternorite and pyromorphite solubility showed positive values of the saturation indices (SI), indicating supersaturation which led to mineral precipitation condition of water.

Synthesis, Characterisation, DNA-Binding Studies and antimicrobial activity of Copper(II) Complex with 2,2’Bipyridine, L-Tyrosine and Thiourea as Ligands
A copper complex of the type [Cu(Bipy)(L-Tyr)(TU)](ClO4), where Bipy = 2,2’ Bipyridine, Tyr = L-Tyrosine and TU = Thiourea, was synthesised and characterised by elemental analysis, UV-Visible, IR, conductivity measurement and EPR studies. DNA-binding properties have been studied by electronic absorption, emission, viscosity and cyclic voltammetric methods. The results suggest that the copper(II) complex bind to DNA via different modes. Gel electrophoresis study reveals the fact that the copper(II) complex cleaves super coiled pBR 322 DNA to nicked and slight linear forms in the presence and absence of ascorbic acid. The in vitro antimicrobial study indicates that the complex has good activity against gram positive, gram negative bacteria and fungus.

The detention and correction of multicollinearity effects in a multiple regression diagnostics
A dynamic graphical display among the set of independent variables (partial regression plot), tolerance value, variance inflation factor (VIF) and pair wise correlation matrix among the set of predictors offers a variety of measures for assessing the problem of colinearity and multicollinearity in a multiple regression diagnostics. Multicollinearity is a violation of one of the assumption of regression analysis. Many diagnostics measures have been proposed for detecting multicollinearity. A tolerance value of less than 0.10 or 0.20 which is equivalent to a VIF of 5 or 10, p value>0.05 and the pair-wise correlation showing a linear dependence of 0.90 and above. A transformation is carried out to remove the problem of multicollinearity and the removal will help to improve on the model (yi = b0 +b 1X1 + b2X2 +……+ bkXk, improve coefficient of determination (r2) and validate any of the assumption of regression analysis of homocesdasticity, linearity, normality and independence of the observations. Examples using stimulated small data sets illustrate this approach

The Effect of Teaching Intercultural Competence on Cultural Awareness of Iranian’s EFL Learners
Language and Culture are not separately of each other's. Over than 10 decades in the EFL classroom in many countries have been taught Cross-Cultural and also it is emphasis on familiar to culture. Therefore this study reports the effect of teaching Intercultural Competence on Cultural Awareness of EFL learners in English classroom. The data were collected from advance level based on standard Cultural awareness questionnaire to homogenized learners who are selected in both Female and Male. The range of learners who are examined 83 that taught reading text about the different and similarities of both languages in addition in their classroom to improve their cultural awareness, the resulting of this research by Cronchbach shows that it is effecting when familiarize the learners to both Persian and English language. It makes aware to some aspect of mother tongue and target language differs. The SPSS shows that the correlation coefficient between Intercultural and Cultural awareness is positive.

Ultrasonic Trapping of Bioparticles Using Cylindrical Cavity
In order to increase the ultrasonic trapping efficiency of bioparticles, a new cylindrical acoustic cavity with a concentric stainless cylindrical steel reflector for trapping and separation of bioparticles was designed and constructed. The resonant modes in this cavity were estimated by theoretical modeling and verified experimentally. For all bioparticles under study (RBC's, yeast and E-C0li), the simulation and measurement results were well agreed. Results obtained indicated that trapping efficiency reached 94% for RBC's at ultrasound intensity of 3 w/cm2. Acoustic contrast factor changed according the density of bioparticles and suspended medium. So it is possible to separate particles with different densities.

Voltage Stability Enhancement using SVC (FC-TCR)
Voltage instability is the major concern of power system stability. It is caused due to the deficit of reactive power in the system. Improving the systems voltage by increasing the reactive power handling capacity of the system by using Static VAR Compensator, during a large disturbance is the area of study. The simulations are carried out for IEEE 14 bus system by using MATLAB/PSAT software. The result shows the effectiveness of SVC to improve the voltages when connected to a system.

Willingness to pay for safe water in ejigbo local government area, osun state, Nigeria.
This study examines the willingness to pay for safe water by households in Ejigbo local government of Osun State. Eighty respondents were selected for the study. A multistage random sampling technique was used to select the respondents. The data used for this study are mainly primary data through the use of structured questionnaire administered via personal interviews emphasizing on the importance of safe water and willingness to pay for safe water among households in Ejigbo Local Government Area. Descriptive statistics such as tabula presentation, frequency distribution, cumulative percentages and mean were used to analyze the slated objectives. The Logit model was also used to test for the formulated hypothesis. The study revealed from the socio-economic characteristics that majority of the respondents is male while most of them are within their youthful age. Sixty percent are married, 55% of them have a household size of between 1 and 5. More than four-fifth (80%) of them get their water from wells and boreholes, 62.5% treat their water before consumption, 47.5% have a record of one illness or the other. Two-third (67.5%) prefer other water sources. The highest percentage of respondents (56.3%) was willing to pay for safe water. Marital status is statistically significant at 5% with a value of 2.079, these shows that marital status has a positive significance with the willingness to pay for water. Primary occupation is statistically significant at 5% with a value of -2.227, this implies that it has a negative significance with the wiliness to pay for safe water. Secondary occupation is statistically significant ay 5% with a value of -2230, this implies that it has negative significance on the willingness to pay for safe water. Age, primary occupation and secondary occupation have a negative marginal effect on the willingness to pay for safe water in the study area with a value of -2.192,-2227 and -2230 respectively. Even though significant, and increase in these three variables will not raise the morale to willingly pay for safe water. Conclusion was drawn that most of these respondents are willing to pay for safe water but a lot of factors inhibit their willingness to pay such as price, distance to the source of water supply and availability.

Women Writers in the Renaissance Era: A Bourdieuian Approach to Isabella Whitney`s A Sweet Nosegay, or Pleasant Posy (1573)
This article presents a Bourdieuian reading of Isabella Whitney`s A Sweet Nosegay (1573) and offers some important insights regarding the social status of women in the patriarchal society of the Renaissance era. This study embodies two primary aims; firstly, to investigate women`s social status based on Bourdieu`s theory concerning cultural, social, and economic capital and secondly, to ascertain that both habitus and field have a central role in determining one`s social position. The research data for this study are collected using Bourdieu`s assumptions regarding women`s perspectives in society that, to some extent, are in line with theories of Hélèn Cixous and Elaine Showalter concerning “écriture féminine”. Taken together, this study confirms previous findings and contributes evidence that suggests whether or not women had experienced the renaissance of female consciousness in the sixteenth century. A Genetic Algorithm Based Approach to Closed Sequential Pattern Mining
Closed sequential pattern mining has attracted increasing concerns in recent data mining research because it is more efficient than sequential pattern mining and produces more compact result set. Genetic algorithms perform global search and have less time complexity compared to other algorithms. In this paper, we propose a novel algorithm GCSP for mining closed sequential patterns using genetic approach. It uses an efficient fitness function to improve the performance. The results show that the proposed algorithm GCSP can find closed sequential patterns efficiently and outperforms CloSpan and ClaSP.
