The paper exposes some of the unethical practices that surrounds IMF stabilization polices. It specifically examines the functionality of the financial programming model of the IMF vis-à-vis its adoption and imposition on LDC’s. This is in turn juxtaposed with foundational Islamic norms. The author concludes with some remarks and recommendations.

The trends and effects of gears on catches of tuna landed in Ghana by the artisanal, semi-industrial and industrial sectors were analysed over a ten-year period (2001 to 2010). Greater catches were made by the industrial sectors of about 698,754 metric tons out of 846,223 metric tons and skipjack tuna Katsuwonus pelamis dominated the catches of tuna over the study period. Of all the gears used in exploiting tuna in the Ghanaian coastal waters, the purse seine gear used in the industrial sector made the highest catches of tuna of about 374,218 metric tons over the ten year period. Analysis of variance was used to ascertain whether there was significant difference in the quantity of tuna caught using the different gears; for Thunnus albacares P-value (3.25E-13) < significant level (0.05), for Thunnus obesus P-value (0.001437) < significant level (0.05), for Katsuwonus pelamis P-value (1.04E-15) < significant level (0.05) for Auxis thazard P-value (2.41E-06) < significant level (0.05) and for Euthynnus alleteratus P-value (8.14E-07) < significant level (0.05). It was observed that fishing in the Ghanaian waters is having a large impact on the biomass level; and the current level of exploitation of about 80,000 metric tons of tuna averagely per annum appears not to be sustainable in the long term, unless the high recent reports of recruitment is maintained. The purse seine gear employed in the industrial sector was the only gear that showed relative increase in the percentage growth rate in output of all the tuna species in the ten-year period. These were 18%, 17%, 16%, 11% and 6% for Thunnus obesus, Euthynnus alleteratus, Auxis thazard, and Katsuwonus pelamis respectively. This could be attributed among others to the fact that the purse seiner fish around fish aggregating devices (FADs) and also use relatively more sophisticated equipment. It is recommended that detailed tuna species stock assessment should be undertaken to enable adoption of improved and adaptive management approaches.

This paper is part of an ongoing research on the development of systemic maintenance management model for Malaysian university buildings. In order to achieve this aim, there is a need to develop a performance model against which services are measure. Measuring performance is a significant part of systemic maintenance management service delivery. Maintenance organization needs to know where they are in order to provide user-driven services and to enhance productivity. Through “hypothetico-deductive” theory, this paper developed a 10 points matrix for the university maintenance organizations for measuring and improving their service delivery. The aim of this paper is to present the validated maintenance management model for Malaysian university maintenance organizations. The model is to guide and facilitate value added service delivery through initiating maintenance according to user value system rather than mainly on the condition of the building

Heat and mass transfer effects on the unsteady flow of micropolar fluids embedded in a porous medium are studied by taking into the account of viscous dissipation with a homogeneous chemical reaction of the first order. Using the Galerkin finite element method the expressions for the velocity, microrotation, temperature and concentrations are obtained. The effect of material parameters such as Prandtl number Pr, Grashof number G, Modified Grashof number Gm, Schmidth number Sc, Eckert number Ec, the spin-gradient viscosity ?, the dimensionless viscosity ratio ?, the coefficient of gyro-viscosity or vortex viscosity ?, permeability of the porous medium K, Chemical reaction parameter , and time t. Further the results of Skin friction coefficient, the rate of heat transfer and mass transfer at the wall are presented with various values of fluid properties and flow conditions on the velocities, temperature and concentration are plotted in the graph and discussed. In the present analysis we study the effect of viscous dissipation on unsteady free convection flow of a laminar incompressible micropolar fluid with heat and mass transfer past a vertical porous plate embedded in a porous medium with chemical reaction.

This research seeks to examine the nonverbal communication of an influential leader to change mind and behaviour of others, particularly in the field of dakwah. The portrayal of young Imam in the Malaysian reality show “Imam Muda” brings new landscape of muslim socialization process and implies significant values of dakwah. The definition of young Imam and its role as a progressive leader in a modern, multiracial society are described and illustrated in this 10-episode show. The researchers give special attention to nonverbal communication of the winner as this aspect is a determining factor of being a good and influential leader. The contestants may have more or less the same quality in terms of Islamic knowledge, but to gain social influence as an Imam, obviously nonverbal communication talks louder than verbal communication. The silent messages displayed by an individual are more countable and reliable in the eyes of people, as concluded in Mehrabian’s 7%-38%-55% Rule. Five episodes of Imam Muda have been selected and five elements of nonverbal communication have been analysed – kinesics, paralanguage, haptics, appearance and proxemics. A thorough analysis of the top Imam is carried out to see to what extent he uses the nonverbal communication in interpersonal or mass setting that promote him as the most eligible young Imam.

This study was an attempt to evaluate Iranian high school English textbooks in terms of vocabulary, grammatical structures and compatibility between reading comprehension texts and grammar exercises. Readability formula and experts’ judgment were used to ensure that high school textbooks, English American headway and English American file books were at the same level of difficulty .The findings revealed that, there were a significant lack of compatibility between the grammatical structures and reading comprehension passages in each lesson and also between high school textbooks and English American headway and English American file books in terms of the order of presentation and content.

There are many primitive trust systems which have adopted unique approach for communication in Wireless Sensor Networks. These traditional trust systems do not meet the requirements like maintaining resource efficiency and dependability between nodes in Clustered Wireless Sensor Networks. This is because of their high overhead and low dependability. LDTS (Light-weight and dependable trust system) proposes low communication overhead and makes efficient use of energy resources by proposing light-weight algorithm. Also LDTS (Light-weight and Dependable Trust System) proposes dependable trust system that helps improving system efficiency by reducing effect of malicious nodes. As compared to traditional trust systems LDTS (Light-Weight and Dependable Trust System) demands less memory .So it can be said that LDTS is light weight and dependable trust system for communication in clustered wireless sensor networks.

The primary objective of the study is to investigate the existence of seasonality in stock price behavior in Indian stock market and more specifically in the Gas, Oil and Refineries sector. The period of the study is from 1st January 2006 to 31st December 2010. For the purpose analysis, the study has employed daily price series that have been obtained from the official website of National Stock Exchange (NSE). The daily price series of selected eight Gas, Oil and Refineries companies were selected for this study, and used multiple regression technique to examine the significance of the regression coefficient for investigating month of the year effects. It is found that all the eight selected Gas, Oil and Refineries companies evidenced month of the year effect and mostly either on September, August or February. Only GAIL, and HPCL evidenced significant October and July effect.

Hence the study has been taken up at micro level to bring out the consumer’s satisfaction towards the Cadbury products advertisements and the factors which determine the same based on the opinion as expressed by the respondents of Coimbatore Town. The present era is known for mass production and mass distribution. Similar products are available in the market. This involves stiff competition amongst the produces. Many finny therefore adopt vigorous means of sales promotion to maintain their existence in the market, as there are many substitutes in the market. This certainly pores a struggle & the produces & their survival and modern business world. The study brings out sufficient information about the effectiveness of advertisement on the Cadbury products. In the cause of ascertaining the effectiveness of advertisement on Cadbury products advertisement beliefs and opinions of consumers were collected which would help to promote the sales of Cadbury products.

The importance of controlling water pollution has increasing in recent years. Dyes are visible in nature, despite it constitutes only a small portion of water pollution to the environment. Color delivery onto the textile fibres in the form of dyes is not an efficient process. As a result, most of the textile industry wastewater is coloured. The treatment to remove this color was not considered until the usage of synthetic dyes. Due to the effects caused by the synthetic dyes to the environment. Government is forcing textile industries to treat their waste effluent to an increasingly high standard before releasing it to the environment due to the recalcitrant nature of modern synthetic dyes. Several strategies have been investigated cost-effective process to remove the colour from wastewater produced by the textile industry. This article reviews the current available technologies and suggests an effective, cheaper alternative for dye removal and decolourisation applicable on large scale.
