Corpora first found their way into Translation Studies as a means to study the language of translation and its distinctive features (Baker, 1993). They were applied, however, by translation researchers in other areas such as translation evaluation and machine translation as well. Translator education is another area which has enjoyed the benefits of corpora in recent years. This paper elaborates on the applications of corpora in translator training and the kind of information they have to offer to student translators in this context. It further explores the benefits of corpus-based translation teaching for student translators in terms of their professional prospects. The paper finally reports the results of an experiment in which an undergraduate class of translation students from the Department of Translation Studies at Allameh Tabataba’i University, Tehran, Iran was introduced to disposable corpora. The problems students faced in building disposable corpora of Persian texts and, later on, in analyzing Persian corpora with corpus analysis tools and finally the solutions adopted to resolve the problems are all explained in detail.

Students’ satisfaction has become an essence of success in today’s highly competitive world. In service industry specifically the education industry, communication is vital to determine students’ satisfaction. Past researches indicated that, most meaning of conversational messages comes from non-verbal communication. Therefore, this study intended to examine the relationship of non-verbal communication cues to students’ satisfaction. A total of 300 respondents were sampled from all around UiTM Kedah. They were evaluated on their perception on lecturers’ non-verbal communication behavior that would lead to their satisfaction to the services provided. The results of the study illustrate that three of the non-verbal communication cues were significant and positively related to students’ satisfaction. Kinesics and paralanguage was rated as among the non-verbal communication cues that provided the most impact on students’ satisfaction. However the result also indicated that there was no significant relationship between physical appearances of the lecturers to the students’ satisfaction. Overall, students’ in UiTM Kedah are fairly satisfied with the non-verbal communication cues of the lecturers. The present study caters for a wide spectrum of students and development professionals, especially those who are interested in non-verbal communication related issues. It is highly hoped that the information gleaned from the present study may assist all service employees specifically in understanding better, the importance of non-verbal communication and its effects on students’ satisfaction.

Enterprise Resource Management (ERP) software was considered a cure for all ailments by organizations for some time before its official demise news given by Gartner Inc, which had coined the term in the first place in the 1990s. This was due to several problems encountered by organizations during the implementation of ERP software, including inflexibility in meeting organizational specific needs. This paper proposes the Best of Breed (BoB) Strategy which involves integrating number of standard package and/or custom software as a better alternative to single vendor developed ERP system. The study is based on two case studies, one case representing ERP implementation and another one representing a BOB strategy. This was followed by an in depth analysis of the two approaches using Questionnaire and personal interview. The study concludes that though traditional single vendor ERP systems, provide several benefits by integrating the Information system silos throughout the organization, but the Best of Breed provides another approach in which greater flexibility and competitive advantage can be obtained coupled with faster implementation. The paper also highlights the differences in complexity of implementation, levels of functionality, business process alignment potential and associated maintenance, between the two strategies.

Sexism (prejudice and discrimination, usually against women) is a social problem in most societies of the world that undermines the rights and potentials of women in societies. It also impinges development. Thus there is a need to explore its causes.This study was therefore designed to investigate the influences of sex, sex role orientation and personality variables on sexism in Nigeria. With the aid of a set of questionnaires comprising Bem’s Sex Role Inventory (BSRI), Ambivalent Sexism Inventory (ASI) and the Big Five (Personality) Inventory (BFI), data were collected from 780 research participants drawn from among Nigerians resident in South Western Nigeria. Participants’ age range is 15-69 with a mean age of 31.91 years. Using a 4x2x2 analysis of variance (ANOVA) and regression analysis, it was found out that sex and sex role orientation have main and interaction effects on sexism. It was also revealed that sexism is significantly jointly predicted by personality variables. However, the dominant personality trait of an individual was found to determine the type of sexist ideological leanings and behaviors displayed by the person. These findings were discussed in the light of available literature and recommendations were made.

The main aim of this study is analysis of organizational commitment and professional commitment between staffs Private bank in Kermanshah. This study is according to descriptive analysis and reaching branch and information gathering tools is questionnaire. Sample population volume 350 subjects from privet banks in Kermanshah and according to sampling random way some of them had been chosen a stoical population and finally we collected 95 questionnaire for determining normality of data we use kolomogrove – sminoroph test and results of tests confirm normality of data so meaningful relationship between them had approved the study results show that in the statistical society of the study ,there is a, there is a positive relationship between Organizational Commitment and Organizational Commitment.

Students can experience conflict in educational institutions. This study aimed at exploring various types of conflict and conflict resolution strategies among the university students. For this exploration two research instruments (TOCQ and CRI) were used. The population of the study was all the university level students of Islamabad. Sample of 75 students was selected randomly (25 were males and 50 were females) from the target population, who’s ages ranged from 20-50 years, family income levels ranged from Rs.25,000-Rs.100,000 per month. After data collection it was analyzed with statistical package of social sciences (SPSS), various statistical analyses were performed to achieve the research objective such as mean, standard deviation, correlation. The results of the study revealed that male students experience more inter-individual and intra-individual conflicts than the female students. On the other hand female students experience more Goal-conflict than their male counterparts. Male preferred conflict resolution style is confrontation whereas female use compromising and withdrawing as a strategy of conflict resolution. Older students experience more conflict than the younger ones. Moreover stressed, work overload, personality differences, attitudinal differences and frustration were underlying causes of student conflict at university level.

In this paper analytically investigated the effects of water–Al2O3 nanofluid on the entropy generation through a coiled tube heat exchanger under uniform wall temperature condition in laminar regime. Nanofluid thermo-physical properties are obtained from literature or calculated from suitable correlations. It is found that adding nanoparticles improves the thermal performance of water-Al2O3 flow and with increasing volume constriction of nanoparticle, total entropy generation at fixed Reynolds number, decreases. By increasing , entropy generation decreases, also with increasing , total entropy generation increases.
