For women of childbearing age, the major challenge is the risk of maternal death as a result of poor health during pregnancy and childbirth. This study explores socio-cultural factors and their implications on maternal health in rural communities in Nigeria using Owukpa community and Obollo-Eke community as study areas. The data were generated from a cross sectional survey of mothers aged 15-49years in both communities whether married or unmarried. A cluster random sampling procedure and non probability sampling were adopted to select 572 respondents for the study, out of this 560 constituted the questionnaire which was the major instrument for data collection, and 12 was based on in-depth interview guide. The result shows that most of the factors identified have serious implications for maternal health in the two communities though the degree at which the factors affect health varied. The factors include; education, poverty, nutrition, lack of basic social amenities, inadequate and inaccessible health care services, lack of family planning, low status of women, gender base violence, and paternity pattern. The study revealed that paternity pattern practised in the two communities differed, The result also shows that certain attitudes like; early marriage, delay in seeking service, sex preference and desire for many children, and sexual activities among the unmarried affect the health of women however with certain degree of variations among the two communities.

Takotsubo cardiomyopathy is characterized by transient systolic dysfunction of LV apical midventricular segments in the absence of obstructive coronary artery disease. Inverted Takotsubo is a very rare variant in which a patient’s transthoracic echocardiogram that we report revealed the characteristic basal and midventricular segmental kinetic disorders. The non-association with coronary artery disease can be differentiated with the use of echography by evaluating the temporal changes of akinetic areas and coronarography by showing the normality of the coronary arteries

The topic of this project is titled the impact of pre-marital counseling to young marriageable girls. Agape Baptist Church was used as a case study. the objectives of the research work is to know if pre-marital counseling has positive effects on marriage. A primary data were used for this research work and a chi-square was used for carrying out the research, test, the research work was done in 2018. The outcome of the research shows that, premarital counseling to marriage girls has positive effect. Therefore marriageable girls or couples should always be counseled before marriage so as to avoid the menace or problem caused by broken homes and divorce.

Breast is a host to many diseases which present as lumps in the breast. Fine Needle Aspiration Cytology’ (FNAC) and ‘Core Needle Biopsy’ (CNB) are commonly used to obtain pathologic diagnosis. Total 104 patients presenting with palpable breast lumps were subjected to FNAC then Core needle biopsy in a single sitting. Finally the results of FNAC and Core Needle biopsy were compared in the light of excision biopsy results. Sensitivities of FNAC and Core Needle biopsy were 83.33 % and 95.83 % and specificities were 96.55 % and 100 % respectively showing that Core Needle biopsy was more accurate than FNAC.

The word guano originated from the “Quichua language” of the Inca civilization and means the droppings of bat. The bats forage at night for insect over a particular area, and they return to the old temples during the day to sleep and care for their young’s. They attach themselves to ceiling, and their excrement accumulates on e floor below. In some situation the guano can reach a depth of feet in many years and appeared as guano-hip, and it has a valuable importance. Bat guano was collected from the temple of Lonar crater Lonar, Buldana District, Maharashtra. The bat guano, it dissolved in water of Purna River, (10:100) concentration was prepared and kept undisturbed till 30 days and parameters was noted at an interval of 2 hour and thereafter 5 days for about 24 hour and 30 days respectively. Resulted into increasing in the pH content of Purna water after the addition of bat guano. Our investigation results indicate that bat guano used for bioremediation of aquatic ecosystem. 

Isolated right ventricular myocardial infarction is a rare entity in the spectrum of acute coronary syndrome. It is often overlooked during the assessment of patients suspected to have acute coronary syndrome.A 49 years old male presented with atypical chest discomfort associated with vagal symptoms. The initial ECGs were not supporting. The Echocardiography revealed an isolated right ventricular myocardial wall motion abonrmality that was initially missed. Coronary angiogram revealed a dominant right circulation and a selective occlusion of an acute marginal branch. Successful angioplasty was done .Cardiac MRI performed 48 hours later confirmed isolated character of the infarction by showing hyperenhancement of free wall of right ventricle.In the current report, we illustrates the importance of looking carefully for isolated right ventricular infarction during echocardiography in all cases of suspected myocardial ischemia.

The objective of this work was to make an agronomic evaluation and morphological characterization of 4 varieties of upland rice (Lioto, Liboga, Lienge and Nerica7) and 1 traditional variety (Kitombe) in the ecological conditions of Kisangani.To achieve this objective, two trials were conducted at Kisangani in a randomized complete block device with 4 repetions and 5 treatments (varieties). The Qualitative traits were evaluated by using the Standard Evaluation System for Rice (SES). Quantitative trait analysis showed the statistical difference between varieties (p<0.05), ranging from 145±10 to 119±13 for total spikelets/panicle, from 215±6.5 to 318±31.5 for panicle/m2 and 112±5 to 143±6 for spikelets filled/panicle. Among the qualitative points common to all 5 varieties we found the ligule shape, shape and panicle habit. All varieties have a pointed ligule with two slits, panicle with secondary branches and drooping port.We had identified the proportion of teeth on the leaf Leaf blade as a new distinguishing feature of rice varieties. The variety Kitombe and Nerica7 have a denticulation on 2/3 of the Leaf blade length against 1/3 for the other varieties 

Since the era of the Green Revolution, Agricultural production worldwide experienced much efficiency with a remarkable aim to eradicate threats of food insecurity. This breakthrough was anchored on science and technology. Among the interventions this era saw to date were the use of fertilizers and pesticides in our day-to-day farming activity to boost yield and control pests/diseases. The study assessed farmers’ knowledge in the use of Agrochemicals given their environmental effects such as on water bodies, occupational hazard and safety, disposal, and storage regarding product use. Questionnaires were administered to farmers cultivating vegetables, food, and cash crops under Open-field and Greenhouse managements in respective Production Specification; Organic and Inorganic productions. The study revealed that 85% of respondents who cultivated cash crops such as Cocoa and Rubber heavily relied on the use of inorganic fertilizers and pesticides. 35.40%, 32.74%, and 19.47% of respondents disposed of Agrochemical containers using Pit burial, Burn/Incinerate, and Indiscriminate methods, respectively, while 12.39% used ecological (biodegradable) materials. 92.7% of the respondents had knowledge about perilous consequence and yet didn't garment recommended protective apparels during application. It was concluded and recommended that the necessity of Agrochemical for pest, disease and weed control were unavoidable in the smallholder farming business in Ghana, despite the gradual rise of inorganic fertilizer and Integrated Pest Management control products. However, needful actions such as Government policy on educational campaign/programs must be intensified. to help appropriately redress misapplications and chemical residue on fresh food produce.
