Compression of the neurovascular structures crossing the thoracic outlet usually causes severe pain at the neck and this is called thoracic outlet syndrome (TOS). Elongated transverse process (ETP) of the 7th cervical spine (C7) (transversomegaly) is one of the risk factors of TOS. The aim of this study was to measure the length of transverse process (TP) of C7 on plain x-ray of AP cervical spine in order to determine and predict risk of TOS. A cross sectional study carried out on 126 subjects with neck pain referred to the radiology department, Federal Medical Centre, Owerri, Nigeria. Stratified technique was used. Prominent TP rating scale was taken as > 4.12 cm on x-ray cervical spine AP view. Data was subjected to descriptive statistics and relative risk was determined.Mean age of subjects was 54.5 + 2.1 years. Subjects with normal right TP (< 4.12cm) was 105 (83.3%) {males = 48.6% (51) and females = 51.4% (54)}. Prevalence of left transversomegaly (> 4.12 cm) was 7.9% (10). The relative risk patient with transversomegaly is 3.0 times more likely to develop TOS Transversomegaly is 3.0 times more likely to develop TOS compared with a patient whose TP is not enlarged. Male subjects are at more risk than females (p < 0.05). The prevalence of transversomegaly is 12.3 % in the studied population. True AP cervical X-ray projection is implied to patients suspected of having TOS.

Water pipelines are also called as lifelines as they serve the most important parameter to the peoples. Hence water pipelines are most important structural element and to make it more safe take utmost priority. When pipelines are subjected to various loads such as earth fill or surcharge load, uplift pressure, lateral side pressure and sometimes may be subjected to superimposed traffic load if roadway or railway comes over it. The various factors such as depth of fill above pipe, side trench width, internal water pressure, support conditions are the some factor which are observed, which greatly affect he stress behavior in the pipeline. The study and experimental work done shows the satisfactory parameters for making underground pipe structure more safe and efficient and thus will prove beneficiary to society even in worse disasters such as earthquake.

The aim of this project is investigating parameters that affect response of buried pipelines due to high-frequency seismic excitations. The main focus of the study is on reinforced concrete pipelines. Steel pipelines are also studied for comparison purposes. Two-dimensional finite element models are developed for dynamic analysis of pipelines loaded by seismic waves that propagate from the bedrock through the soil. The models describe both longitudinal and transverse cross-sections of pipelines. The interaction between pipelines and surrounding soils is accounted for, including a nonlinear behavior. The pipelines studied are assumed to be surrounded by frictional soils with dense, medium and loose stiffness. The effects of water mass, burial depth, soil layer thickness and non-uniform ground thickness caused by inclined bedrock are studied. It is demonstrated how two-dimensional plane strain models can be used for seismic analysis of pipelines with circular cross-sections.

In this study, an experimental investigation on the strength properties of recycled aggregate concrete M40 incorporating copper slag as partial replacement of fine aggregate and micro silica and nano silica as partial replacement of cement has been carried out. For this purpose, eleven concrete mixes were prepared with different replacement ratios of copper slag, micro silica, and nano-silica. Each set of concrete mix comprised of 12 cubes, tested at the age of 3, 7,14 and 28 days of curing period. The physical properties such as grading, specific gravity, and water absorption were determined. According to the results of the experimental study, it is concluded that with complete replacement of natural aggregates with recycled aggregates there was a decrease in the 28 days compressive strength by 23%. However, the best compressive strength was achieved by mix M7 with an increase of 52.93% in 28 days compressive strength compared to the control R.A.C concrete mix C2. Also with the increasing silica content in the concrete, there was a reduction in both the workability and weight density. Therefore, promising results were obtained showing that recycled aggregate concrete can be very well used in place of natural aggregate concrete with the addition of some strength enhancing materials like micro silica and nano-silica.

Abstract: Data mining is emerging technique now a day’s .The main aim of data mining is to find meaningful information from pool of dataset. It is also called knowledge Discovery in Database (KDD). Data mining is technique that extracts the important information from the large amount data base. Clustering is significant key technique in data analysis and data mining application. It is used for combining observed object into groups or cluster such that each group or cluster is homogeneous or compact with respect to characteristics. The clustering is an example of unsupervised learning. A good clustering method will produce high superiority clusters with high intra-class similarity and low inter-class similarity. Clustering algorithms can be categorized into partition-based algorithms, hierarchical-based algorithms, density-based algorithms and grid-based algorithms. The aim of this survey is to provide an analysis of different clustering algorithms in data mining.

The present paper reviews the comparative effect of different transition metal complexes derived from hexaminecobalt(III) chloride metal complex on the thermal properties of polyaniline nanocomposites. These metal complexes are obtained through photo-substitution route in which some of the amine ligands of the hexaminecobalt(III) chloride metal complex are photochemically substituted by different organic ligands like 1,10 phenenthroline, pyrazine and imidazole. It is observed that the metal complexes thus synthesised containing both organic and inorganic moieties enhance the thermal stability of polyaniline to a great extent as compared to simple hexamine metal complex filled nanocomposite. However, as far as the role of different incorporating organic ligands of metal complexes on the thermal properties of polyaniline nanocomposites are concerned, there seems to be little or no effect.

This study is based on the dynamics of Nigerian politics as portrayed in the two select post-colonial works of Chinua Achebe and Chimamanda Adichie. The paper considers the role of identity in the post-colonial era and narrows it down to the Nigerian/Biafran civil war of 1967-1970. It sets out to reveal the problem of identity that was prevalent in Nigeria during the civil war and the state of Nigeria's politics during the period of the war. The study is based on different research materials such as internet sources, journals, textbooks and interviews. Achebe's book is the most accurate, recent and comprehensive prose that has discussed the past, present and the possible future of Nigerian politics. Adichie, though never experienced the war, skillfully constructs a tragic story that depicts accurately the events of the civil war, The findings of this research is based on the fact that, if the political leaders of the country will be able to compromise their diverse identities and the ethnic groups in the country come together to believe in a common identity, then the strife and disagreement will be in its barest minimum. Finally, conclusions are drawn on how to address the problems of national disunity and selfish politics in Nigeria.
