Different media vehicles are used to influence the consumer buying choice and attitude formation. Television is one of the most vital and widely used medium of communication. The present study aims to find out the influence of television advertising on consumer attitude formation and purchase intention particularly in the telecom sector in Odisha. The survey was done to both mobile handset buyers and mobile service buyers with sample 675 and 657 respectively. The data is analyzed through Descriptive Statistics, ANOVA and Post Hoc Tukey test. The result indicated that the more the respondents agreed with the cognitive factors the more is the attitude towards the television advertisement; there is a significant difference between the mean of attitude for different groups of respondents who strongly agree, somewhat agree, neither agree nor disagree, somewhat disagree and strongly disagree with the each of the cognitive factors. The study also revealed that mean of attitude and mean of purchase intention vary for each of the category in the demographic variables.

Writers have long been interested in dealing with the adverse effects of science on the life of the human race. Earlier, the science achievements on various fields of life were looked at positively. However, sci-fi writers, since H. G. Wells' dark pessimistic view of man's future under the control of scientists, robots, or computers altered the general perspective, have been concerned with the undeniable damaging consequences of man's complete reliance on advancement of technology in managing his life. Douglas Adams believed that science should be viewed as dangerous and destructive because it neither ameliorated man's life nor it kept as it is; rather, devastated not only man's achievement throughout history, but also brought all humans' hopes of perfection to a horrible end. Stress?Strain response of sands focusing sand’s shearing stress, angle of shearing resistance, dilatancy and contraction during volumetric changes etc. is of highly research interest due to its application in soil modelling and prediction of soil hazards even in a case of soil liquefaction. In this research paper, grain size and state of compactness (loosest and densest) influence on the stress?strain response of 8 (eight) different and specific sized granular sand grain have been researched by analyzing the results of a digital direct shear test corresponding to a constant strain rate of 0.5 mm / minutes and increasing normal load (5 kg, 10 kg and 15 kg). In a bird’s eye view of the results, shearing stress (irrespective of compaction state) increases only 4 % from smaller to larger grain whereas approximately 30 % increase is discernible in dense grain than that of loose grain (irrespective of grain size). Larger sized grain possesses approximately 1.5 times more angular shear resistance than smaller size but in densest state it is about 2 times more. Authors have opined that, Though both the grain size and state of compactness (loosest and densest) affects the stress?strain response, state of compactness reveals more significant influence. In a dilation?contraction region, a loose grain contracts (18 %) while a dense grain contracts initially (15 %) but finally dilates (21 %) for an increase of size during plastic volumetric deformation of the grain.

In the context of today's socially-networked-society and the rise of social media applications like Facebook , new perspectives need to be considered. The present research explored social media by examining their potential as new venues for political participation. This research seeks how using social media (e.g Facebook) for free time affects political participation (in Chandigarh, Panchkula, Mohali and Zirakpur areas). A sample of 200 males who were staying with and away from their families in the age group of 19-23 years were administered scales of Facebook usage and political participation. Correlation and descriptive analysis were applied. Results revealed a negative correlation between Facebook usage for free time and political participation. Significant difference also emerged between the males staying with and staying away from families on using Facebook for free time.

One of the most important concerns in arid and semi-arid areas of Iran is water erosion and sediment transport. Several experimental models were used for predicting the erosion severity and sediment yield in a sub-catchment area. These models are often developed for different regions than those in which they are applied. Therefore more field data should be gathered for model calibration and, ultimately, a better evaluation of method should be undertaken. However because of insufficient and less reliable sediment yield data in Iran the objective of this study is to evaluate the output results of PSIAC model in five small catchments, Semnan Province, Iran using reliable sediment yield data deposited in reservoir constructed in the outlet of these catchments. Correlation analysis showed that Upland erosion is closely related to Specific Sediment Yield (r2= 0.86). Comparison of the amount of PSIAC predicted and observed reservoir sediment SSY indicate that model was predicted lower than observed values in one catchment (Amrovan) and higher in four other catchments but these differences are not considerable in catchment scale.

Comparison of the observed fundamental vibrational frequencies of Acetone Thiosemicarbazone by HF and DFT method. The electric dipole moment (?) and the first hyperpolarizability (?) values of the investigated molecule were also computed.

The objective of the study was to compare effectiveness of yoga and exercise therapy in the management of mechanical low back pain. Total 60 subjects with mechanical low back pain were devided in to two groups. Yoga group and exercise group. Yoga group underwent yogic counselling, asanas, and instant relaxation technique and exercise group underwent educational talk, strengthening exercises, and supine rest. Subjects evaluated for disability and flexibility with Roland Morris Disability Questionnaire and sit and reach box test respectively. Data was collected at baseline and at 4th& 8th week. Yoga and exercise therapy both showed a significant reduction in disability and improvement in back flexibility. Yoga and exercise therapy both are effective in the management of mechanical low back pain.

This paper investigates the technical efficiencies of rubber product manufacturing industry in Malaysia. We employed Stochastic Frontier Analysis (SFA). Secondary data from 313 firms that manufacture rubber product was obtained from the Annual Survey Of Manufacturing Industries 2004 by Department of Statistics Malaysia. Variables that are included in this are such as capital (RM), labor, and energy. Results clearly show that the mean technical efficiency of manufactured rubber product industry in Malaysia is 0.70328 or 70.33 percent. Majority of the firms are also fairly efficient in the use of available resources. Some technical assistance such as training programs for the proprietors of the firms and financial support such as subsidies could be offered to boost their production level as rubber is indeed an important component of the manufacturing industry in Malaysia.
