Genetic programming for document segmentation and region classification using Discipulus
Document segmentation is a method of rending the document into distinct regions. A document is an assortment of information and a standard mode of conveying information to others. Pursuance of data from documents involves ton of human effort, time intense and might severely prohibit the usage of data systems. So, automatic information pursuance from the document has become a big issue. It is been shown that document segmentation will facilitate to beat such problems. This paper proposes a new approach to segment and classify the document regions as text, image, drawings and table. Document image is divided into blocks using Run length smearing rule and features are extracted from every blocks. Discipulus tool has been used to construct the Genetic programming based classifier model and located 97.5% classification accuracy.

Granulometric, Heavy mineral and Field studies of the Lokoja Bassanga and Fugar Sandstone outcrop sequences on the Benin Flank of the Anambra Basin, Southeastern Nigeria
Field study of Basaanga and Fugar Sandstone was embarked upon in order to determine lithostratigraphy profile, their relationship and laboratory studies including granulometric, heavy mineral, and petrographic analysis. The research studies were aimed towards understudying stratigraphic stacking pattern, textural parameters such as grain size, sorting, transportation history, paleoenvironment of deposition and provenance. The Bassanga Sandstone revealed angular grained basal conglomerate deposited on basement rock by flash flood (fluvial) processes deposited close to the source; overlain by fining-upward sequence in cyclic manner with azimuth of ~2500 paleocurrent direction. Laboratory data deductions show that the average grain size (-0.05 to 2.67 ?) vary from fine to coarse; sorting (0.18 to 0.86) varies from moderately sorted through moderately well sorted to very well sorted; skewness (0.16 to 4.15) varies from fine to strongly fine skewed. ZTR index (10.0 to 43.2%) from heavy mineral study suggests submature to matured sediment while thin section analysis shows texturally and compositionally mature to sub-mature sublitharenite tending strongly to quartzarenitic rock. The Bassanga sediments were transported by southwest paleocurrent and deposited in fluvial setting. However, Fugar Sandstone is fine grained (2.14-2.98?), herringbone structured, fairly bioturbated unit deposited in marginal marine environment; very well sorted (0.18 to 0.28), and strongly fine skewed (2.78-4.5). ZTR index varies from 35.9-50.0% suggestive of mineralogically immature sediments sourced from metamorphic rock (NW) and deposited by paleocurrent in southeasterly direction.

Growth and characterization of a new organic nonlinear optical 2-methoxy-1-naphthaldehyde (2MN) single crystal
2-methoxy-1-naphthaldehyde (2MN) an intriguing new organic material for frequency conversion has been grown by slow evaporation solution growth technique at room temperature. Their structural, optical and physicochemical properties were characterized by X-ray powder diffraction, FTIR and UV-Vis spectra. The crystal belongs to monoclinic system with point group m and space group Cs. The material has a wide transparency in the entire visible region. It is found that the cutoff wavelength lies in the UV region. The mechanical response of the crystal has been studied using Vickers microhardness technique. The SHG relative efficiency of 2MN crystal was found to be 12 times higher than that of KDP and 1.6 times higher than that of Urea.

Investigating Reading as a learning Method amongst Student Nurses in Buea, South West Region, Cameroon
Reading is a method of learning as well as self-teaching that is a basic necessity for the education and training of a nurse. Reading in most instances is enhanced by awareness of its importance, and knowledge of the techniques involved in. In the absence of these two, a student nurse may be incapacitated in the art of remembering and memory recall. Reading as a learning method was investigated among student nurses following the decline in remembering basic facts during oral examinations. This was more common with facts that had been studied earlier on in the education and training programme. Based on this, the study looked at three objectives: to outline some demographic parameters of the student nurses; investigate the importance and reasons for reading; and to assess students’ knowledge on the reading techniques. It is hoped that the results on the importance, reasons and knowledge of reading techniques can motivate other student nurses.

Investigating the Ways of Reducing the Inter - Organizational Conflicts of Educational Institutions (Case Study of Dashtestan City)
This study is an attempt to investigate the ways to reduce the internal organizational conflicts of the educational sets of Borazjan city. The methodology of this study is a descriptive-survey method. The study included all administrators and teachers training centers of Borazjan city who are 420 people. In this study, a systematic random sampling method (regular) has been used. The required data were collected using OCCI questionnaire and their reliability are 0/80, 0/75and 0/70and 0/73and 0/84 that they were confirmed. The obtained data were analyzed using descriptive statistics such as a one or two-dimensional table of frequency distribution, percentage, mean, standard deviation and inferential statistics such as comparing the means by independent t-test. The result of this study has shown that the difference between the mean of internal organizational conflicts of principals and teachers in educational sets of Borazjan city is significant . Based on this study and previous studies, can be concluded that one of the most important ways to reduce internal organizational conflicts of educational sets is using an appropriate management styles in dealing with internal organizational conflicts and also it is not recommended to just use a particular management style to reduce the level of internal organizational conflicts.

Investigation of the Relationship between Psychological Empowerment, Job Satisfaction and Organizational Commitment of Secondary School Teachers in Robat Karim City
The present study was conducted to examine the relationship between psychological empowerment, job satisfaction and organizational commitment among Secondary school teachers in the city of Rabat Karim through descriptive survey. Statistical population were 1753 people among Secondary school teachers in the city of Rabat Karim which 156 subjects (90 females and 66 males) with sampling alternating to the volume were selected based on Cochran's formula. Tools used in this study consisted of Aspirytzer's psychological empowerment questionnaire, Smith's job satisfaction questionnaire, Kendall and Holin as well as organizational commitment questionnaire of Alan and Meyer. The reliability was confirmed by Cronbach's alpha. Correlation test and stepwise Regression was used for data analysis. Pearson correlation test results indicate that psychological empowerment and its subscales (significance), self-determination has a positive and significant relationship with job satisfaction at the level of p <./.1. Results also indicated that there was no significant relationship between feelings of competence and job satisfaction (r = 0/044, p = 0/624). In order to more closely examine the relationship between psychological empowerment and job satisfaction among components of psychological empowerment, job satisfaction, the results indicated that job satisfaction has a positive and significant relationship with self-determination (r = 0/55, p = 0/000), feeling of efficacy (r = 0/42, p = 0/000) and significance level (r = 0/207, p = 0/02). well as the results of the Pearson correlation test showed that there not exists a significant relationship between psychological empowerment and organizational commitment of teachers r = 0/12, p = 0/181)), the result is that in the development of psychological empowerment and job satisfaction of teachers is increased and it will be certainly followed with the enhanced quality of education.

Investigation of the relationship between the p wave and s waves within the basement complex of Northern Nigeria
The relationship between p wave and s wave is dynamic, and it is majorly a function of terrain. Knowing the relationship between p wave and s waves for any particular terrain is of vital important for both seismic exploration and geotechnical analysis. The aim of this research work is to establish an absolute relationship between the p waves and s wave seismic velocities within the basement complex. This factor (ratio) will be a guide to a better estimate of shear wave velocity during data analysis that will enhance exploration and site characterization in areas where vertical geophones will be exclusively used for data acquisition. With a bid to achieving this aim, seismic survey was carried out within some locations in the basement complex. The data was processed to generate the p wave velocity models and s wave velocity models independently. The result revealed that both the p waves and s waves from the tomographic model generally increase with depth. The ratio of these p waves and s waves velocities ranges between 1.767981 to 1.999435347. The average representative value for these p waves and s waves velocities ratio was determined to be 1.794860218. The result also revealed that the ratio of p waves and s waves does not genially increase with depth. Therefore, a value of 1.8 approximated to one decimal place, can be taken as a representative value for the ratio between p waves and s waves down to a depth of 40 m within the basement complex. However a value of 1.9 to 2.0 can be adopted as a ratio between p and s wave velocity within the basement complex beyond the depth of 40 m.
