Left Ventricular Aneurysm Associated To Double Ventricular Septal Defect In Acute Myocardial Infarction: A Serious And Fearsome Entity
Ventricular septal defects following myocardial infarction are a relatively infrequent complication occurring transmural myocardial infarction. The simultaneous presence of ventricular septal defects and left ventricular aneurysm in the same patient is extremely rare and usually occurs within the first week after myocardial infarction. Surgery remains the only viable treatment option. A 63-year-old man with multiple risk factors for coronary artery disease diagnosed with acute extensive anterior wall myocardial infarction, presented to our emergency room with heart failure symptoms, cardiac auscultation revealed a band-shaped systolic murmur in the left parasternal area, radiating to the whole precordium.Electrocardiography revealed sinus rhythm with persistent ST-segment elevation in leads V1–V4 with Q waves in the anterior precordial leads, and chest X-ray revealed bilateral pulmonary congestion. A Transthoracic 2D echocardiography was performed at our facility which demonstrated dilated left ventricle with severely reduced systolic function. Important regional wall motion abnormalities were present with an aneurysm of the medium and apical segments of anterior and septal wall complicated by two muscular ventricular septal defects. Colour Doppler revealed a shunt between the left and right ventricle through the aneurysmatic segment. Coronary angiogram showed a significant disease of the left anterior descending and right coronary artery. The patient underwent surgery for the simultaneous repair of the ventricular septal defect, apical aneurysm and a coronary artery bypass. Post-infarction left ventricular aneurysm associated with a double ventricular septal defect is a very unusual mechanic complication, especially five weeks after the inaugural episode with no evidence of recurrent heart attack. We present such a case that was successfully treated surgically. Rapid diagnosis and urgent surgical management significantly improves the patient's prognosis.

Longitudinal Study Examining the Mental Health of Individuals During the Corona Virus Epidemic
With the spread of the Corona virus worldwide, concerns about the consequences of the virus on the physical and mental health of individuals have increased widely. In addition to the problems that poses to individuals and society in terms of physical health, the virus can also have a direct or indirect effect on people's mental health. The present study was conducted to investigate the effects of this virus on the mental health of individuals during the corona virus epidemic. In this study, 550 individuals were evaluated using mental health assessment tools at different time points to investigate the effect of time in epidemic conditions on mental health.

Maths attitudes of gifted and talented girls in Mukumu girls high school, Kenya
The study explored maths attitudes of gifted and talented students in form one, two and three of Mukumu girl High School. Eight of the nine domains of the Fennema-Sherman Mathematics Attitudes Scale (MAS) were used to survey the math attitudes of two hundred girls. The domains included; attitude towards success, mother’s attitudes, father’s attitudes, anxiety and motivation in learning math. K.C.P.E and present classroom/teacher scores are contrasted MAS. The study was based on Bandura’s Social Learning Theory which emphasizes that much of learning of gifted and talented is mainly through observation and imitation. Questionnaire technique will be used to collect the data. Data collected was analyzed using SPSS with a predetermined alpha level of 0.5, and MANOVA. Results of the study may be used as a vehicle or catalyst for the implication of assisting children to enhance learning of the subject spawn discussion with counselors and others investigating the emotional and academic implications of the GT girls. The study recommends that policies be put in place to eliminate negative cultural teaching of mathematics through open-ended techniques.

Microplastic in food, food residues and composts: A review
Due to urbanization, population growth and modern lifestyle plastic was extensively used in the second half of the 20th century and became indispensable for humans of the 21st century. Plastic particles of less than 5 mm in diameter termed microplastic, due to indiscriminate use and mismanagement are found in all the environmental compartments (air, water, soil, food chain) and reach human food. Sewage sludge, plant composts, and food waste composts containing nutrient-rich soil amendments contain microplastic particles. The most common types of plastic polymers present in composts are polypropylene (PP), polyvinyl chloride (PVC), polystyrene (PS), polyester (PET), cellulose, polyurethane and nitrile fibre. When these organic composts are amended with the cultivated soil the plastic particles are accumulated in the plant roots and travel to shoot and crop yield i.e. fruits, vegetables, rice, etc. Microplastic particles enter human organisms mainly by ingestion (water, seafood, non-seafood, salt, honey, sugar, drinks, fruits and vegetables), inhalation (air), and dermal contact (personal care products, face washes, hand cleaners, toothpaste, and facemask). Accumulation of the microplastic particles in the human body causes several health problems such as hypertension, atherosclerosis, respiratory toxicity, cytotoxicity, immunotoxicity and reproductive toxicity. Accumulating organic compounds associated with plastic manufacturing ( bisphenol A (BPA), bisphenone, nonylphenol, polyphenol, PFAS and phthalates) also have negative human health effects. Phthalates act as endocrine gland disrupters. Pathogenic, non-pathogenic and antibiotic-resistant bacteria form a biofilm on microplastic surfaces intake of such microplastic particles poses a serious challenge to Doctors. This work summarizes the concentration of microplastic in compost, food wastes, sewage, and the human food chain and their impact on plant growth and human health.

Model of corrosion rates in refinery boiler components (Bafflewall tubes, Vapourizing tube bank and the superheater coils)
This paper predicted the corrosion rates of three refinery boiler components namely: Baffle wall tubes, vapourizing tube bank and the superheater coils, using a mathematical model developed from the balance equation of the refinery boiler. The results obtained were then compared those already measured by Ultrasonic Thickness Scanning Technique (UTS). The essence is to determine if the prediction equation can be useful in predicting the life expectancy of the various boiler components. The prediction was done for a period of four years. Metal loss recorded for Baffle Wall Tubes was 0.10 mm to 1.10 mm from UTS, while the one from the model was 0.11 mm to 0.98 mm. Metal loss recorded for vapourizing tube bank was 0.06 mm to 1.00 mm from UTS and that from the model was 0.05 mm to 0.98 mm. Metal loss recorded for superheater coil was 0.026 mm to 0.67 mm. The percentage deviation calculated between the model and that from UTS showed a correlation between the rates observed by the different measurement tools. The introduction of the inhibitor model indicated that inhibitor application can greatly reduce the corrosion rates of the refinery boiler’s components. The paper has also shown that the mathematical predictive model can be used to predict the corrosion rates of the internal boiler components as compared to the recorded readings of the Ultrasonic Thickness Scanning Technique.
