Women constitute about one half of the global population, but they are placed at various disadvantageous positions due to gender difference and bias. Globally, at least one in three women has experienced some form of gender based abuse during her life time. Of all the forms of violence against women ‘Domestic Violence’ is a serious type but caused silently. Domestic violence is the most serious violation of all basic rights that a woman suffers in her own home at the hands of members within her own family. The manifold problems associated with domestic violence have been systematically exposed by the women’s movement. Indeed a number of recent studies such as the National Family Health Survey and National Crimes Records Bureau have identified the home as the site of violence against women and girl children. Almost every six homes some where in India, a married women between the ages of 15 and 49 have experienced domestic violence at some point in their lives, domestic violence has not only serious consequences for the health and well being of the individual women but it also serves to maintain their subjugation as a class, it is generally denying the woman her rights as an individual. The purpose of domestic law is to prevent such a situation and to restore the women to a position of equality with in marriage so as to give her the time and the space to decide what she wants to do in the rest of her life. No doubt, it is difficult to enable women to break the silence around their violent situations, so there was a dire need to have a law that can address the problem of domestic violence in more holistic manner and can change the lives and realties of women. The Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005 was notified in the Gazette of India on 14-9-2005. This paper is an attempt to have a holistic view of the Domestic violence against women in india and I have made an attempt to analyze the statistical data on domestic violence against women in india.

Our work is a retrospective study of 14 cases of dorsal lunate fracture-dislocations of the carpus, listed in the service of traumatology and orthopedics of the Ibn Sina Hospital between 2010 and 2014. The back lunar dislocation of the carpus , the most common intra-carpal dislocations, interest in most cases of adult male youth, and whose injury was caused in half the time by accident from the public highway.The diagnosis is only radiological because the clinic can not be evocative.Surgical treatment was recommended at the outset in all cases. The dorsal approach was performed in 10 cases, and the volvar approach was used earlier in one case. Patients were reviewed at a mean of 30 months for clinical evaluation of functional results according to the score of Allieu and Witvoet. The results were satisfactory in all cases reviewed, and only three were lost to view. In conclusion and in light of a literature review, we believe that surgery alone provides a satisfactory reduction and repairs bone and ligament injuries, the only guarantee of a favorable outcome to avoid the long term most serious complication: osteoarthritis of the wrist.

Feed restriction is one of the methods used in commercial treatment in poultry breeding industry to reduce the cost of production. This study was carried out to examine the effect of feed restriction on growth performance characteristics of broiler chickens. A total of sixty Anak broiler chicks were used. The birds were allotted into four dietary treatments in a Completely Randomized Design (CRD). Each treatment was replicated three times with five birds per replicate. The dietary treatments were identified as T1, T2, T3 (which was commercial diet from Vital feed industry) and T4. The study lasted for a period of 8 weeks which includes 2 weeks of acclimatization prior to the starting of experiment. Birds on T1 were on ad libitum feeding throughout the experimental period, T2 were on 70% ad libitum for the first 21 days followed by ad libitum feeding for the last 21 days, T3 were on 70% ad libitum throughout the experimental period and T4 were on 70% of commercial diet + 30% sun-dried maize sievette throughout the experimental period. Analysis of data showed that the final body weight of T1 and T4 were significantly difference among other treatments (p<0.05). Feed intake values of T1 and T4 were significantly (p<0.05) higher than T2 and T3. Feed efficiency did not differ between treatments. Result on carcass quality revealed that there was a significant difference between the slaughtered weight of T1 and other treatments. But similarities existed between T2 and T4. No significant differences were found between T1, T2 and T4 for the breast, drum stick/thigh, wing and gizzard weight but T3 remains the lowest among the treatments. From the result, birds on T1 had the highest feed intake followed by T4, T2 and T3. T3 had the least net return. Based on this experiment, T4 was found to be of more economic value.

The aim of this paper is to determine the effect of salinity on the growth of some previously known petroleum biodegrading Bacillus sp. under laboratory condition where petroleum hydrocarbons are the sole source of carbon.Bushnell-Hass (BH)mineral salt media consisting of different NaCl concentrations (0.0 to 0.4 mole/liter or ML^-1) were prepared and supplemented with 2% kerosene/diesel/engine. The media were then inoculated with the bacteria namely Bacillus pasteurii, B. badius, B. cirroflagellosus, B. circulans and B. brevisindividually. After 7 days of incubation, bacterial growth was determined by measuring the optical density (OD) of the media at 620 nm. We found that salinity has a great impact on the growth of the bacteria under investigation. A NaCl concentration ranging from 0.05 to 0.3 ML^-1was found to have a positive impact on the growth all 5 Bacillus sp.NaCl concentrations below and above the said range were found to be growth limiting.Interestingly our findings indicate that the maximum growth of a bacterium depends not only on the optimum salinity level but also on the type of petroleum hydrocarbons provided.The findings of this study are important for understanding the impact of salinity on the biodegradation process of petroleum hydrocarbons and to develop optimized application approaches to sweep such pollutants from contaminated sites.

In the present study we have evaluated effect of different plant diets on the amount of food consumption, absorbed, converted and metabolized in the fresh water fish Cyprinus carpio. We discussed the feeding rate, absorption rate, conversion rate and metabolic rate of fished when they consumed different foods, and the absorption and conversion efficiency were observed. The maximum absorption efficiency was observed in the potato fed fish and the minimum was observed in the radish fed fish. But maximum conversion efficiency was noticed in cabbage.
