This paper deals with the simulation of three, five, seven and nine level output using H- bridge inverter. This paper presents H – bridge inverter simulated using MATLAB with different levels (like three, five, seven and nine level). The percentage (%) total harmonic distortion THD is calculated. The harmonic reduction is achieved by selecting appropriate switching angles. The functionality verification of the three level, five level, seven level and nine level output is done using MATLAB.

This paper presents a Diode Clamped Inverter for Static Compensator (STATCOM) using Space Vector Pulse Width Modulation (SVPWM) technique. Static Synchronous Compensator (STATCOM), a Flexible Alternating Current Transmission Systems (FACTS) controller .For a given dc bus voltage the maximum inverter line-to-line voltage generated by the SVPWM scheme is 15.5% higher than that by the SPWM scheme. SVPWM scheme is used to reduce the switching losses, by changing switching states such that only single phase voltage changes every time. SVPWM strategy enables balancing voltages of the dc capacitors without using additional devices multilevel (three level) inverter is used to reduce THD in its ac output voltages in comparison to the two-level inverter. In order to achieve reactive power control, by maintaining unity power factor at the source end feeding reactive load by three level diode clamped SVPWM Inverter which is adapted as STATCOM is employed in this paper. The control strategy for the compensation is based on the instantaneous active and reactive power theory The STATCOM is modelled and simulated in MATLAB Simulink environment. The simulation results of STATCOM under balance voltage condition are presented.

A novel phase-shift plus pulse width modulation (PSP) control ZVS bidirectional dc–dc converter is proposed in this paper. By adopting active clamping branch ZVS condition is realized for all switches. The proposed converter has the advantage of wide range of input, output control and reduced switching losses. The performance of proposed converter is compared with the same power rated conventional topology and the results are presented.

Grid computing is a high performance computing environment to solve larger scale computational demands. Grid computing contains resource management, task scheduling, security problems, information management and so on. Task scheduling is a fundamental issue in achieving high performance in grid computing systems. A computational GRID is typically heterogeneous in the sense that it combines clusters of varying sizes, and different clusters typically contains processing elements with different level of performance. The scheduling problem is computationally hard even when there are no dependencies among jobs. Thus, the new local search (LS) and particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm seems to be efficient for the problem of batch job scheduling on computational grids. We consider the grid scheduling as a bi-objective optimization problem consisting of the minimization of the makespan and flowtime. The bi-objectivity is tackled through a hierarchic approach in which makespan is considered a primary objective and flowtime a secondary one. In this, a heuristic approach based on particle swarm optimization algorithm is adopted for solving task scheduling problem in grid environment. Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) is one of the latest evolutionary optimization techniques by nature. It has the better ability of global searching and has been successfully applied to many areas such as, neural network training etc. Due to the linear decreasing of inertia weight in PSO the convergence rate becomes faster, which leads to the minimal makespan time when used for scheduling. To make the convergence rate faster, the PSO algorithm is improved by modifying the inertia parameter, such that it produces better performance and gives an optimized result. The computational results show that our PSO & TS implementation clearly outperforms the compared algorithms. This work proposes optimization technique called Tabu search that is combined with the ant colony optimization and PSO technique to solve the grid scheduling problems.

In this work we have proposed a new application on mobile to cater the well being of heart and we designing a new mobile which is incorporating with stethoscope. We call it as “Mobile Steth” with automatic application for suggesting the food and heart related problems. Mobile steth will record the user datum; with this datum critical label will be checked. If the subject (patient) reaches the critical label, mobile steth will initiates an alarm to their family members and if the subject needs it will fix appointment in the nearest hospital.

We have long used mechanical devices to compensate or physical disability, it may be possible to augmented mental capacity to add memory or carbon-based neural net 'wetware' brains-at a point in history, when we might be able to imprint the circuitry of the human brain using transistors on a silicon chip? Brain Chip-a direct interface between the biological information processing system of the brain and neurons system and the artificial information processing system of microprocessors and silicon electronics. The brain is a parallel processor. The colorful blue jay, I see flitting from tree to tree in my garden appears as a single image. But the brain divides what it sees into four component-color, motion, shape & depth. These are individually processed-at the same time-and compared to my stored memories. My brain combines all of these processes into one image, that's just vision aspect of a multiplexed moment of perception..- The human cortex has about 22 billion neurons and 220 trillion synapses. In this paper, we purpose to initiate ethics of implanting computer chip in the Brain and focuses on issues of manufacturing and scientific responsibility, anxieties about possible usage in children, and most troubling, issues of privacy and autonomy.

Distance learning over the past several years has gained in popularity not only as a way to offer instruction in locations without local expertise, but also as a cost effective method where limited enrollment at one location would not normally warrant offering the course. In this paper, we use the embedded board with interface module to implement a remote electronic measurement system which includes the power supply, signal generator and oscilloscope. This design uses an embedded board to replace a computer, since the embedded board has the advantage of being easily carried, a real-time operation, a low cost, and programmable. In addition users can operate this measurement system with the help of the operating system and the TCP/IP modules to connect to the Internet. By using the on board operating system, our design provides the step by step function to help user operate, such as keying in the waveform parameters with the embedded board keyboard, providing the waveforms and then connecting the circuit to the embedded electronic measurement system. This design can also show the waveform measured by the embedded measurement system in the embedded board LCM (Liquid Crystal Monitor). Because the file size of measured waveforms is very small around 1 KB, the prototype system show that the main delay time to receive the measurement waveform at the server site from the client site is within 2.5 seconds In the server, the observers can observe many waveforms from the different clients. If the client’s waveform is error, the observer can also send the required waveforms to the client’s embedded measurement system and input these waveforms to the testing circuits and re-observe the circuit measurement and help the user to debug.

The liver supports almost every organ in the body and is vital for our survival. Liver disease may not cause any symptoms at earlier stage or the symptoms may be vague, like weakness and loss of energy. Symptoms partly depend on the type and the extent of liver disease. Liver diseases are diagnosed based on the liver functional test. Though this disease cannot be predicted at earlier stage due to lack of symptoms and signs, in this paper we attempt to apply soft computing technique for intelligent diagnosis of liver disease. The classification and its type detection are implemented in three phases. In first phase, ANN classification is applied for classifying the liver disease. In second phase rough set rule induction using LEM algorithm is applied to generate classification rules. This rule induction overcomes the drawback of MLP and hence improves the accuracy. in third phase fuzzy rules are applied to identify the types of the liver disease. Using LEM algorithm 6 rules are generated with accuracy of 96% in correct classification. On applying rules generated by LEM, improves the classification accuracy by 6% compared to MLP. The 4 fuzzy rules are framed to identify the types of liver disease.

Data Mining is the use of algorithms to extract the information and patterns derived by the knowledge discovery in databases process. Classification maps data into predefined groups or classes. It is often referred to as supervised learning because the classes are determined before examining the data. The Verification of handwritten Signature, which is a behavioral biometric, can be classified into off-line and online signature verification methods. The feasibility and the benefits of the proposed approach are demonstrated by means of data mining problem: online Signature Verification. This paper addresses using ensemble approach of Genetic Algorithm for online Signature Verification. Online signature verification, in general, gives a higher verification rate than off-line verification methods, because of its use of both static and dynamic features of problem space in contrast to off-line which uses only the static features. We show that proposed ensemble of Genetic Algorithm is superior to individual approach for Signature Verification in terms of classification rate.

For some decades, power quality did not cause any problem, because it had no effect on most of the loads connected to the electrical distribution system. Voltage sags is the most common type of power quality disturbance in the distribution. Recently various power electronic devices are proposed for this purpose. Among these devices special attention was given to the family based on the VSC technology for faster response. This project intends to investigate mitigation technique that is suitable for different type of voltage sags source with different type of loads. The mitigation techniques that will be studied are such as Dynamic Voltage Restorer (DVR), Distribution Static Compensator (DSTATCOM). The simulation is done using PSCAD/EMTDC software.
