Radon is a naturally occurring colourless, odourless, water-soluble gas produced by the radioactive decay of radium. Chronic exposure to radon is recognized as a health risk. Ingested water with elevated levels of radon can present a risk for developing internal organ cancers. Thirty (30) water samples collected from four different water sources (borehole, pond, hand – dug well and river) in Pwalugu and their environments were analysed using the Gamma Spectrometry System. The radon concentration varied from 29 ± 1.1 to 40 ± 2.1 µBq/L. These values fall below the maximum concentration level, of 0.148 Bq/L proposed by the US EPA. The highest concentration was recorded in borehole samples because of the nature of the geology and because no radon was lost due to aeration. The calculated annual effective dose by ingestion varied between 2.920 × 10-7 and 2.117 × 10-7 Sv/y which is below the recommended value of 1mSv/y.

Taking a critical analysis of human rights observation over the years, one is faced with the reality that a society where the human person enjoys human rights and full dignity has remain an ever-enduring dream and almost a mirage. The objective of this study therefore is to assess the relationship between human rights observation and true democracy. Data were collected through the administration of structured questionnaires to 150 respondents. However, only 75 respondents returned their questionnaires. The data collected were analyzed using simple percentage analytical methodology. Findings revealed that democracy in Nigeria is an aberration of the ideals of democracy and leaves little to be desired with plethora abuses of human rights. The study therefore recommends that focus should be on how to ensure that the tenets, norms and principles of democracy are fully observed by those elected into offices, and that government should do its best to see that factors that hinder speedy dispensation of justice are mitigated. The study also recommended that the press that is assigned the responsibility of upholding the fundamental objectives of the state, must adequately monitor leadership behavior and style and make their public debates with a view to selecting incorruptible and honest leaders. The study conclude that the act of good governance cannot be discovered in any document rather it is in the willingness of those who governed to provide good leadership. Therefore, Nigerians and people the world over must of necessity direct their attention to fair exercise of power granted by the constitution by those in leadership positions rather than look for perfect constitutions.

Brown tumor also known as osteitis fibrosa cystica is a focal bony lesion due to bone remodeling from either primary or secondary hyperparathyroidism. Torticollis is an unusual clinical presentation of the tumor. We report a 65-year-old female patient who had been on hemodialysis for chronic renal failure, admitted with severe cervical pain and torticollis due to a minor cervical trauma. The imaging revealed multiple bony lesions that turned out to be brown tumors.

More than millions of people are living under the threat of influenza virus over the world countries including Nepal. The pathogenesis of this disease is not clearly understood and is probably attributed to genomic variations in viral strains as well as the host genetic makeup. The present study is to determine the role of polymorphism of TNF-alpha promoter regions at positions -238G/A, -308G/A, -857C/T and -863C/A in the severity of Influenza A Pdm/09 patients. Total of 500 patients including 300 Influenza A Pdm/09 (RT-PCR positive) and 200 apparently healthy individuals (Influenza A Pdm/09 Negative by RT-PCR) were included in the study. Polymerase chain reaction restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR-RFLP) using site specific restriction enzymes were implemented for polymorphism study of TNF alpha promoter. Following the analysis of the digestion patterns of four polymorphic sites of the TNF- alpha promoter region, a significant association was observed between the allele -308A with the patients of Influenza A Pdm /09 patients. TNF- alpha 308 G/A has been shown to be associated with elevated TNF- alpha transcriptional activity. As per the literature search, this is the first study to identify the role of TNF- alpha promoter in Influenza A Pdm/09 infection. Our results show that subjects with - 308A more vulnerable to the severe form of Influenza A Pdm/09 infection

The electrochemical polarographic analysis of complex of Re (II) complex with the ligand 1-{3-[2-Amino-5-(5-hydroxy-5H-imidazol-4-ylmethanesulfonyl)-benzyloxy]-4H-pyrazol-4-yl}-ethanone were analyzed and it found that ligand forms 1:2 complex with Re(II) in between pH of alkaline range between 7.4-8.6. The logarithm value of stability constant of 1:2 metalis 14.9and the entropy and free energy observed at -78.69 and -43.48 respectively.

Guar gum waste was treated with ethylacetoacetate. The resultant acetoacetyl guar gum (AGG) was then adducted with sodium bisulfate. The so called product was designated as SAGG. The various mixture of SAGG, pumkin peel powder, eggshell powder and activated charcoal were prepared. The waste water from different industrial zones was collected and then qualitative parameters were determined. All the wastewater samples treated with above various mixtures as adsorbent. The analytical parameters before and after adsorption process were documented and discussed.

However, for the odd value of k the path factorization problem of complete bipartite graphs i.e. P_k-factorization of complete bipartite graphs, have been studied by many number researchers[3,4,5,6,7]. For any positive integer p, the necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of the P_2p-factorization of a complete bipartite graph were studied by Hong Wang[8]. Beiliang Du [9] extended the work of Hong Wang [8] and gave the necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of P_2k-factorization of the complete bipartite multigraphs. In path factorization of complete bipartite symmetric digraphs B. Du [10] already discussed the necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of P ?_3-factorization of complete bipartite symmetric digraphs. Here in this paper, we will discuss necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of P ?_2k- factorization of complete bipartite symmetric digraphs, and also in this paper, we construct the P ?_2k- factorization of complete bipartite symmetric digraphs K_(m,n)^*.

Water resources development has been identified as crucial to the control and eradication of communicable diseases and more importantly the well-being of the population. Adequate and sustainable source of ground water can be obtained by geophysical methods. Integrated geophysical methods involving electromagnetic and electrical resistivity methods have been carried out to delineate groundwater potential and locate drilling sites for boreholes in four communities in the Nkoranza South District. The electromagnetic method was used for profiling to identify anomaly conductive sites for further investigation using the vertical Electrical Sounding (VES) technique. Interpretation of the VES data revealed a weathered/ fractured zone at a maximum depth of 25.5 m which are potential aquifer zones.

In order to better understand the zootechnical and economic characteristics of piglet farming, a diagnostic study was conducted from October to December 2019, three months with 30 pig farmers, in the form of cross-sectional and retrospective surveys in the three municipalities of the town of Kindu in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The results showed that pig farming was practiced by both married and educated men and women. They were mainly zimba, Kusu and Nande and associated livestock with agriculture, private activity or trade. They operated in two different livestock systems (traditional and semi-intensive), with a clear predominance of the traditional system (85.5% of farms). The latter was characterized by semi-intensive hog barns (51.1%), where local-bred pigs were mostly reared (90.4% of farms). The average herd size was 19.2 - 20.1 pigs. In 97% of cases, farmers fed the animals from kitchen waste and agricultural and agro-industrial by-products. The average breeding age was 7.6 -1.8 months and the average litter size was 7.4 - 2.2 piglets. This livestock subsector has real potential for poverty reduction because it generates net incomes on average of $40 per piglet, depending on the system. Nevertheless, the lack of training of herders, inadequate pig habitats, food and health constraints remain the main factors hindering the development of pig farming in this city. It would be useful to find alternative ways to improve the habitat conditions, feeding and health monitoring of pigs, accompanied by better organisation and capacity building for producers and other players in the hog sector.
