An analytical solution of two-dimensional MHD free convective double diffusive dusty flow of a viscous, incompressible, electrically conducting and heat-absorbing fluid past a vertical permeable porous plate in presence of radiation and chemical reaction is presented. The plate is assumed to move with a constant velocity in the direction of fluid flow, while free stream velocity is assumed to follow the exponentially increasing small perturbation law. The Velocity, Temperature, Concentration, Skin friction, Nusselt number and Sherwood number distributions are derived and have shown through graphs and tables by using simple perturbation technique.

Policy is a plan of action agreed or chosen by a people; a principle or framework adopted which influences their belief, actions, and operations. Out of 20 million people who suffer from the disease globally, an estimated 8million live in Nigeria. Onchocerciasis has been a public health problem in Nigeria for over three decades leading to disabilities and loss of person-hours with its negative consequences on health and the economy. This article examined the state of onchocerciasis policy in Nigeria since inception. Continuous review and improvement on government policies, strategies, and programmes is a positive step towards attaining a Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTD) free world.

The paper examines the role of management tools in developing markets to respond to the increased competition. The research design was exploratory in nature whiles the data employed were mainly secondary. Statistical test using frequency tables were used to find out the roles these tools play in developing markets. Findings indicate that managers with average score of 84.2% believe that management tools allows firms to identify what goods and services consumers demand, so that the firm produces exactly what is demanded. Throughout the study, the author focuses on the use of management tools and their roles in developing markets.

This study sought to explore occupational health and safety practices among refuse collectors in the Cape Coast Metropolis. The study was qualitative in nature and employed the exploratory study design. In all 30 refuse disposal collectors participated in the study. Quota sampling, snowballing and purposive sampling techniques were used to select the various companies, participants and key informants respectively for the study. Interviewing, focus group discussions and observations were the methods used for the study. However, interview guide and focus group discussion guide were the instruments used to collect data for the study. Data generated was put into themes for analysis.The study revealed that most of the refuse collectors in the metropolis do not put on the protective wears at dump site, it is recommended that management of the metropolis intensify their training efforts to continue to sensitise waste collectors on the need to wear those protective clothing in order to safeguard themselves from coming into contact harmful substances at the various dump sites.

Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in women and it is the leading cause of cancer deaths among women. Breast cancer has arisen as the most commonly detected cancer among women in sub-Saharan Africa, exceeding cervical cancer. This study sought to specifically assess the knowledge levels of female Senior High School (SHS) students of breast cancer and breast self-examination. It was also to ascertain whether females in Senior High Schools practiced Breast Self-Examination (BSE) and the barriers to practicing BSE. The study utilized quantitative method; the cross-sectional design was used to investigate the knowledge of breast cancer and practice of breast self-examination. The Bolgatanga Girls' Senior High School was used; they had a total population of 1, 946. Simple random sampling was used to choose students in year three who were 600. A sample size of 260 students were chosen for the study. The study showed that students had low knowledge of breast cancer risk factors and breast cancer screening methods however, they had high knowledge of breast cancer signs and symptoms. More than half of the respondents never performed BSE. Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 21 was used to analyze the data. Despite high awareness of breast cancer and BSE, in-depth knowledge is low and respondents' BSE practices were characterized by faulty timing and regularity. It was recommended that there was the need to intensify education of the young girls on breast cancer and BSE for early detection and management.

The feasibility of using spent water from parkia seed (iru) processing were tested on wood samples of Ceiba pentandra as preservative against fungi. Spent water (leachate) from locally produced iru processing was used to treat Ceiba wood. Wood samples were at the sawmill unit of Forest Products Development and Utilization Department of Forestry Research Institute of Nigeria (FRIN). Wood samples converted into 15 mm x 15 mm x 25 mm and were inoculated with Sclerotium rolfsii and Pleurotus florida for 12 weeks. Samples soaked for 48 hours had the lowest weight loss (7.143%) for samples inoculated with P. florida thus signifying that the leachate at 48 hours of soaking provided preservative property against P. florida while the 24 hours of soaking was the least effective. But samples inoculated with S. rolfsii show that the leachate was not effective in the control of S. rolfsii.

Water supply payment system is old fashioned has many problem and need improvement. In this paper a new approach was designed that is based on pay method where you buy amount of water in advance. Water companies have difficulties in accessing conventional water meters in remote places. Inefficiency is increased with growing number of population .It has high cost and difficulties in delivering water bills. This paper discusses a pre-paid SMS based water dispensing system that solves these problems by allowing the amount of flow of water pre-paid to pass through based on low cost intelligent control system that uses microcontroller, solenoid valve, turbine flow meter and GSM server. This system accurately controls the amount of water paid for in advance without human intervention or need for conventional water meters by turning solenoid valve on and allowing certain amount of water to pass through the flow meter until credit expires shutting the solenoid valve. The software application provides real time information about the credit left and quantity of water consumed both locally on LCD and remotely by SMS server as well as date and time and validity of credit if applicable.

Feed restriction is one of the methods used in commercial treatment in poultry breeding industry to reduce the cost of production. This study was carried out to examine the effect of feed restriction on growth performance characteristics of broiler chickens. A total of sixty Anak broiler chicks were used. The birds were allotted into four dietary treatments in a Completely Randomized Design (CRD). Each treatment was replicated three times with five birds per replicate. The dietary treatments were identified as T1, T2, T3 (which was commercial diet from Vital feed industry) and T4. The study lasted for a period of 8 weeks which includes 2 weeks of acclimatization prior to the starting of experiment. Birds on T1 were on ad libitum feeding throughout the experimental period, T2 were on 70% ad libitum for the first 21 days followed by ad libitum feeding for the last 21 days, T3 were on 70% ad libitum throughout the experimental period and T4 were on 70% of commercial diet + 30% sun-dried maize sievette throughout the experimental period. Analysis of data showed that the final body weight of T1 and T4 were significantly difference among other treatments (p<0.05). Feed intake values of T1 and T4 were significantly (p<0.05) higher than T2 and T3. Feed efficiency did not differ between treatments. Result on carcass quality revealed that there was a significant difference between the slaughtered weight of T1 and other treatments. But similarities existed between T2 and T4. No significant differences were found between T1, T2 and T4 for the breast, drum stick/thigh, wing and gizzard weight but T3 remains the lowest among the treatments. From the result, birds on T1 had the highest feed intake followed by T4, T2 and T3. T3 had the least net return. Based on this experiment, T4 was found to be of more economic value.

Bovine blood/rumen content mixture (BBRCM) is an abattoir by-product that provides a cheap source of livestock feed. It is a source of protein which is readily available at the slaughter house. This experiment was conducted to evaluate the performance of broiler chicks fed bovine blood/ rumen content mixture (BBRCM) as partial replacement for soybean meal. Experimental diets T1 which served as the control contained 0% BBRCM, diets T2, T3 and T4 contained 20%, 40% and 60% BBRCM respectively. Sixty (60) five weeks old Anak 2000 broiler chicks were randomly assigned to the four dietary treatments in a completely randomized design (CRD). Each treatment was replicated three times with five birds per replicate. The experiment lasted for 35 days. Results showed that there were significant differences in the growth performance of the birds on the treatment groups in all the measurements recorded. Birds fed T4 diet had the highest weight gain and the best feed conversion ratio. There was a significant (p<0.05) increase in weight gain as the inclusion level increased. The feed intake of birds fed diet T1 was significantly (p<0.05) higher than those fed other treatment diets while T4 recorded the least. There were significant (p<0.05) differences on the feed conversion ratio of the birds fed diets T1, T2, T3 and T4. T1 had the poorest feed conversion ratio. Organ weights were not significantly affected (p>0.05). The result of the experiment showed that bovine blood/rumen content mixture can replace soybean meal in the diet at up to 60% level without any negative effect. Economics of production showed that bovine blood/rumen content mixture were profitable as regards to the cost of feed per kg weight gain and thus cost savings.
