Albizzia lebbeck and Syzygium cumini are two natural plants with secondary metabolites and antioxidant properties, which was shown to have a diabeto-protective effect in animal experiments. There were major reductions in the levels of endogenous antioxidant enzymes like superoxide dismutase, catalase and reduced glutathione after 30 days of experimental period with STZ suggesting the generation of free radicals in animals. The co-administration of aqueous, methanolic and methanolic fraction of aqueous extract of Albizzia lebbeck and Syzygium cumini significantly increased these antioxidant enzymes and reduced the elevated serum levels of malondialdehyde in the experimental animals. The established diabetoprotective actions of various extracts of Albizzia lebbeck and Syzygium cumini in experimental hepatic injury in rats widens the scope for further investigations in the field of research on other models either alone or in combination with other herbal molecules with proven diabeto-hepato-protective action in clinical practice.

There has been an increasing level of interest, among government and industry constituents, in the growth of the SME sector in India. There is today a recognized need felt for the transformation of firms in this sector from a hitherto ‘family-owned-and-run’ orientation to a more ‘professionally managed’ one. This transformational process unfolds several challenges to the organizations in the SME sector. This exploratory study, on a sample of auto-components firms in the SME sector, located in the Tamilnadu Capital Region of Chennai, has the objective of furthering our understanding of the specific challenges faced by these organizations. The case-study method has been used to carry out this study. Areas in this sector that need immediate attention have been identified. A couple of propositions based on this study, related to the source of organizational transformation and to the major challenge to firms in this industry, have also been put forth.

As a frequent phenomenon, paradoxes often occur in physics. In electromagnetic, paradox arises mainly due to the existence of bulk conductor in the loop. The paradoxes are analyzed by two experiments. The experimental results demonstrated that the law of flux should not be used to solve some problems, otherwise paradox may arise.

Surface texturing by fabricating micro dimple on a surface have been proven to be very effective to improve tribological performances of sliding surfaces. Studies and research shown that micro-dimple reduced friction coefficient significantly and increase the service life of artificial hip replacement. This study aim to investigate and to compare the wear factor between four different micro-dimpled dimensions which comprise diameter, depth and pitch. The main objectives are firstly to determine parameter to fabricate micro-dimple surface, secondly to optimise surface micro-dimple pattern and finally to determine surface characterisation. Four samples have been chosen with different dimple parameter. In this experiment, pin-on-plate wear test machine was used. The result shown that wear factor at the pin for pattern 1 (1.53905 x 10-6 mm3/Nm), pattern 2 (1.50764 x 10-6 mm3/Nm) and pattern 3 (1.61234 x 10-6 mm3/Nm) were compatible with result done at the same test rig at Newcastle University, where else result for pattern 4 (3.66440 x 10-6 mm3/Nm) slightly off for varies reasons. On the other hand, there are no significant mass loss at the plates although the surface roughness of the plates have record changes. Conclusion from the experiment is wear factor from less dense micro-dimple is lower than wear factor in denser micro-dimple.

The growth of outsourcing industry across the globe is magnificent and has been continuously shooting up with double digit growth every financial year. It is like a fashion going on across the world of outsourcing. Due to its ever expected growth rate many firms have entered into outsourcing business in India too. But there is a dilemma among the entrepreneurs whether they will achieve the same pace of growth in outsourcing business or not? Whether they will have positive impact of outsourcing industry growth on their financial performance? Is there any relation between industry growth and firm’s individual growth? To answer these questions the current study has been taken over with two BPO firms as sample and finds relation with outsourcing industry growth. The study has taken 10 years financial data of BPO firms and 10 years revenue data of outsourcing industry for analysis. The research finds impact of industry growth on financial performance of sampled firms and studying relation between these two variables. With help of important financial ratios, t-test & pearson’s correlation study analyzed the data and achieved research objectives. The result indicates that there is a positive relation between the studied variables. Firms’ financial performance has been increased during the 10 years duration with an increase in industry revenue.

Objective: to understand the conditions of the elder’s depression and to explore the connections between personal background, self-concept, and depression. Design: The population included 366 samples of the older people above 65 in Ren-Ai district, Keelung City, Taiwan. A self-designed structured questionnaire was used as our research tool. Our data were collected through both questionnaire and one-on-one interview, and then processed and analyzed by package software - IBM SPSS Statistics 20 (Windows version). Results: The average depression scores from our research targets were 2.69 (±2.76). Some major factors that might have to do with the elder’s depression included gender, age, education degree, marriage status, self-consciousness of economic condition, chronic disease index, self-consciousness of health condition, self-concept, and social support.The degree of depression developed by the population of higher education degree (such as college) is less than lower education degree (below junior high school and the illiterate); the female are less than the male; the married and the widowed are less than the divorced; self-consciousness of the economic sufficiency is less than economic insufficiency; and the self-consciousness of healthy condition is less than unhealthy condition.The age and chronic disease index both are positively correlated to the degree of depression, but self-concept and social support are negatively correlated. Lower education degree (below junior high school and the illiterate), self-consciousness of economic condition, self-consciousness of health, age, chronic disease index, self-concept, and social support all have important forecasting capability for the elder’s depression. Self-concept, among them, has the highest explaining capability for the elder’s depression. Conclusions: Our study suggested self-concept and social support should be emphasized for treating the elder’s depression. This should be considered for any future researches.

Effect of different doses of nitrogen with or without GA3 application on plant height, nutrient uptake (N,P,K and S). Yield parameters in NDR-8501 Brassica juncea cultivar in year 2013-14. Field experiment was conducted at Instructional Farm of N.D.U.A.&T., Kumarganj, Faizabad (U.P.) during Rabi season, mustard seeds were grown under different treatments. Three doses of nitrogen (90, 120 and 150 kg ha-1) and GA3 (50 ppm) spraying at 30 and 60 DAS, nutrient uptake, siliquae plant-1, seed siliquae-1, seed yield increases at 120 kg N ha-1 with spraying of GA3 at 30 DAS as compared to without GA3 spraying GA3 at 60 DAS spraying increase the observed parameters but it was low in comparison of 30 DAS. The optimum dose of nitrogen of recommended dose of fertilizer along with spraying of 50 ppm GA3 at 30 DAS can be used as optimum recommended source for improving mustard seed yield under local agro climatic conditions.

Fats from guttered Nile tilapia were collected melted into oil and used to fry; eggs, beef sausages and beef. Widely used oils such as vegetable oil and sunflower oils were use as control oils. Ten (10) semi trained panellist judged the test oils used in frying the foods based of the attributes of colour, odour, flavour, texture and overall acceptability using 3 descriptions: “like”, “neutral” and “dislike” The results shows that Tilapia oil can compete favourable with other commercial oil, hence it extraction and use be promoted.

In this paper, slow evaporation method was used for the synthesis of 4-aminopyridinium adipate in triclinic crystal system and it was characterized by the powder X-ray diffraction pattern. Using the X-ray broadening, the crystallite sizes and lattice strain on the peak broadening were studied by Williamson-Hall plot. The result of mean particle size showed that the particle size increases with the decrease in breadth (in degrees) with mosaic defect. Thin-film ruthenium oxide electrodes are prepared by sol-gel spin coating technique on a stainless steel substrate. To obtain different film thicknesses deposition coats are increased. Thin films are used as electrodes for supercapacitor application with 0.1 M KOH electrolyte. Film thickness affected on the specific capacitance and charge–discharge. A maximum specific capacitance of 489 F/g is achieved with an electrode thickness of 0.1mg/ cm2. These results are explained by considering the structural and morphological changes that take place with increasing film thickness. The energy efficiency decreased with increasing film thickness. RuO2 film can withstand about 1000 cycles without a significant decrease in the capacitance. The EIS analysis data gave low value of ESR for 4 coats.
