The epithermal neutron shape factor(?) in the permanent cadmium lined irradiation channel of the Nigeria Research Reactor-1(NIRR-1) was re-evaluated using the four monitor combinations 198Au-99Mo- 97Zr- 95Zr, 198Au- 97Zr- 95Zr- 65Zn, 198Au-60C0- 97Zr- 95Zr and 198Au- 60Co- 97Zr- 95Zr- 99Mo in the monitor set Al-0.1%Au thin foil, Zr and Zn foils, Mo and Co thin wires irradiated for ? determinatiom by the cadmium covered multtimonitor method. The monitor combination 198Au-99Mo- 97Zr- 95Zr was found to give a relatively higher and more reasonable value of ? of -0.101±0.019. Also the value of ? determined using only the three monitor combination 198Au- 97Zr- 95Zr was found to be -0.106±0.014 and is comparable with the ? value for the monitor combination198Au-99Mo- 97Zr- 95Zr. The negative values of ? in both determinations indicate a hardened epithermal neutron spectrum in the cadmium lined irradiation channel.They are comparable with the value of -0.137±0.018 previously obtained. The values of the epithermal neutron flux(?e ) and comparator factor (Fc,Au ) of 4.80±0.04)×109 and (1.38±0.01)×103 respectively using the activity 198Au for the monitor combination198Au-99Mo- 97Zr- 95Zr are comparable with the ?e and Fc,Au values of (4.76 ±0.04)×109 and (1.37±0.05)×103 respectively for only the three monitors 198Au- 97Zr- 95Zr .The ?, ?e and Fc,Au values can be well determined in the cadmium lined irradiation channel of the NIRR-1 using only the Au+Mo+Zr or Au+Zr monitor combinations.

In a previous study, the epithermal neutron shape factors (?) determined with the monitor combination 198Au-99Mo- 97Zr- 95Zr by the cadmium covered multimonitor method and the triple monitor 198Au- 97Zr- 95Zr in the cadmium lined irradiation channel of the NIRR-1 were found to have relatively high and more reasonable values of -0.101±0.019 and -0.106±0.014 respectively. In this study, the ? value determined with the triple monitor 198Au-99Mo- 95Zr that was obtained from the monitor combination 198Au-99Mo- 97Zr- 95Zr was found to be -0.114±0.017. The accuracy of the ? determination with the monitor combinations 198Au-99Mo- 97Zr- 95Zr , 198Au- 97Zr- 95Zr and 198Au-99Mo- 95Zr was tested by elemental analysis of the standard reference material NIST 1515 Apple leaves by the ko-ENAA method using Al-0.1% Au thin foil as the single comparator. The concentrations of the elements Sm and Br with high Qo values determined in the NIST 1515 Apple leaves are in good agreement with the certified values. The monitor combination 198Au-99Mo- 97Zr- 95Zr or the three monitors 198Au-99Mo- 95Zr from the monitor set Au+Mo+Zr or only the three monitors 198Au- 97Zr- 95Zr from the monitor set Au+Zr can provide reliable values of ? in the cadmium lined irradiation channel for application of the ko-ENAA method for elemental analysis of samples of materials in the NIRR-1.

Media is considered to be the fourth estate of democracy; they play an integral part in shaping public opinion. India is the land of festivals and elections and we say this because every year more than one of the 29 states are on election mode. But the last 18 months has witnessed heightened interest among Indians in every election and this can be attributed to the massive victory of Narendra Modi led NDA in May 2014. This trend did not stop here as BJP won every state election after that in the months that followed. After commanding an indispensable win, the NDA government faced a strong hurdle from the united opposition. The watershed moment for the political parties was the 2015 Bihar elections. The opposition created an anti-NDA alliance to overcome the NDA. Experts say that the anti- NDA alliance used the media effectively as a communication tool to inject the messages of intolerance in the society and dent the chances of the NDA. Newspaper coverage can create a positive or negative impact on the political image. Media focused on political and social issues that created an atmosphere of intolerance debate nationwide, intellectual class raised the issue and confronted the government by returning their awards famously known as “Award Wapsi”. This research intends to find out how the entire Award Wapsi controversy had an impact on the Bihar state elections. The research further tries to probe if concepts like Agenda Setting and Manufacturing Consent by and through the media helped in this endeavor.  Colonialism has been conceived as a policy and practice of a strong power extending its control territorially over a weaker nation or people. So, a colonial territory is that political entity over which a stronger power exercises political control. From around the mid 19th to about the mid 20th century, what we know today as the Nigerian nation-state was a classical colonial territory. Without bothering to obtain their consent or allow indigenous centripetal leaders emerge, a stronger British power proceeded not only to extend its control over the territorial space, but railroad its diverse peoples and cultures into a commonwealth they neither understood nor bargained for. What followed was a struggle of one group against the other, or others, either to ingratiate itself with the colonizing power, or assert itself against its pretensions. When the later disposition failed or became forlorn, all groups settled more or less for the former. In the midst of this novel social setting, the various cultural norms of transparency and sublime modesty in public affairs began to give way for new social ethos of competition and graft. The emerging urban areas provided a perfect arena not only for the social contact of the various culture groups, but one that saw to the flowering of seeds of dichotomy and discrimination amongst the people. This paper seeks to situate the so-called “culture of corruption” in Nigeria within the colonial environment, and posits that the aphorism, ‘culture of corruption’ is actually alien to indigenous Nigerian peoples. It contends that if the current so-called ‘War against Corruption’ must be successfully pursued, then the sublime virtues of indigenous cultures need to be propagated and adopted as national ethos. Rapid developments in curricular education in Malaysia have raised questions about curricular teacher education. Many institution has been developed many of curricular organization for students to increase the achievement of skills in curricular. However, the understanding role of a curricular teacher is not balanced towards the achievement of students in curricular. The achievement of curricular was not totally performed very good due to the preparing curricular teacher was not being more effective. Education and the challenges of preparing quality curricular teachers are important priorities in many developing and developed countries. This is because to achieve in curricular education depends on the quality of its teachers. Therefore, a framework of skills need to be built to achieve the target of participating involved in curricular programs. The success of curricular depends on the quality of its teachers. Effective curricular teachers help to build a strong system of curricular education. The desired attributes of a beginning curricular teacher were articulated and a skills framework was developed.

Mn-doped and Undoped Ruthenium Oxide composite nanostructures in thin film form were prepared on stainless steel substrates by sol-gel spin coating method. The at % of Mn was increased as 0.1, 0.2, 0.5, 1 and 2 %. The XRD pattern of undoped and Mn-doped Ruthenium oxide films showed crystalline nature with porous morphology. EDAX confirms the successful doping of Mn in RuO2. The infrared spectrum illustrates stretching mode of Ru= O and O-Ru-O and absorption peaks attributed to the –OH bending vibrations along with Mn atoms was also seen. Electrochemical behaviour of the deposited films was attempted in 0.1 M KOH aqueous electrolyte using cyclic voltammetry, chronopotentiometry and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) tests. For 1 At % Mn:RuO2 thin films electrode showed maximum specific capacitance of 328 F/g. Chronopotentiometry study showed that for 1 at % Mn doping the specific energy and specific power are increased than undoped Ruthenium oxide and decrease in the charge transfer resistance .

Having a child with disability in a family is not the same as having a child without a disability. Parents of disabled children after knowing that their children have disability, develop highly ambivalent feelings towards their babies. Parent’s social life becomes restricted, and feelings of social rejection and isolation may follow. Parents having a child with mental retardation experience a variety of stressors and stress reactions related to the child’s disability and the parents have the feelings of guilt, anxiety, hostility, and insecurity. Having a child with autism also found to be a significant financial burden to the family. Parents of children with autism are more likely to use avoidant coping strategies that may have a negative impact on the marital relationship. Parents may feel self-conscious about taking a child with autism out into the community. An attempt has been made to present a critical analysis of a preliminary review of epidemiological studies on psychological distress in parents of children with mental retardation and autism.

Drug-related problems include medication errors and adverse drug reactions. Liver is the hub of metabolic activity of the body indeed, most drugs are modified or metabolized in liver. Thus, drugs that are dependent primarily on the liver for their systemic clearance are like to have reduced elimination and subsequent accumulation, leading to excessive plasma drug concentration and adverse effects. However the effects of hepatic insufficiency on the pharmacokinetics of the drug are not consistent or predictable. The pharmacokinetic properties of an administered drug may be modified due to alterations in hemodynamics and/or in the so-called intrinsic clearance. Drugs with first pass metabolism require reduction in oral dosages; for high clearance drugs both loading and maintenance dosages need adjustment whereas for low clearance drugs maintenance dose only needs adjustment whenever possible, measuring drug level in the blood and monitoring of adverse events should be done fairly frequently. To sum up thus there are a large category of drugs used for different therapeutic indications which are toxic to the liver and kidney and thus should be cautiously administered; particularly when given at high doses or used for chronic or long term administration. This review pitches light on various drugs which induce renal and hepatotoxicity, with their mechanism of damage and clinical scenario.

 It is said in Manu Samhita (Chapter II, Para 145) Upadhyaayan-dasacaryaacarryanamsatam pita; Sahasramtupitrnmatagauraveratiricyate, which means that - “A Guru who teaches Veda is 10 times superior to an ordinary teacher and the father is 100 times more than a teacher, but the Mother is 1000 times more superior to the father.” This vividly speaks how our ancient saints and culture held a woman in high esteem and recognised her not merely a mother but as a superior scholarly Institution. Unarguably, women are the nuclei of families; more so in rural India. They are not just confined to household chores but they play a very important role in grooming the children and shaping their future, upholding and preserving our traditions and culture. While everything about women in the past and in history is dark and dismal, women of late are seen in the forefront both in economic and social activities. Several NGOs, Voluntary Organisations, Training Establishments such as Rural Development and Self-Employment Training Institutions (RAPID) have been conducting customised and innovative skill-building training programs, Entrepreneurship Development programs (EDP's) which contribute to economic empowerment of women through self-employment. This paper studies various types of EDP's conducted at one of the RAPID in Karnataka, India to create economic, social and cultural opportunities for women in distress through skill development, employment and counselings.
