CDK6 expression in dentigerous cyst, odontogenic keratocyst and ameloblastoma
To investigate the expression of CDK6 in odontogenic lesions. In this study 77 odontogenic lesions consist of 19 unicystic ameloblastoma (UA), 18 solid ameloblastoma (SA), 20 odontogenic keratocysts (OKC), and 20 dentigerous cysts were reviewed by immunohistochemistry (IHC) for CDK6 staining. Frequency of positive cytoplasmic CDK6 expression in ameloblastoma (solid and unicystic) and DCs, were recorded as, 100% and 15% respectively which show a statistically significant different (p=0.000). Positive nuclear CDK6 in SAs and UAs was 100% and 94.7% respectively which was significantly higher than DCs and OKCs (p=0.000). Mean percentage of both cytoplasmic (72.71 ± 10.0) and nuclear (45.0 ± 10.7) CDK6 staining in SAs was significantly higher than other lesions (p=0.000). Our study demonstrated that overexpression of the nuclear CDK6 and dysregulation of the PRb pathway play a role in the oncogenesis of ameloblastoma but not DCs and OKCs and might be one of the reasons for aggressive behavior of ameloblastoma.

Mycoremediation of textile dyes by fungal isolates from dyeing industry effluent
A vast amount of dye effluent from textile industries cause severe water pollution as it comprises of xenobiotic azo dyes that are recalcitrant to biodegradation. Continual research is going on worldwide to develop effective, economical and environment-friendly treatment processes while biological treatment is considered the most promising in all aspects. This study aims at the evaluation of textile dye decolourizing capability of naturally occurring fungi. After screening, 4 fungal species identified as Aspergillus fumigatus, A. flavipes, A. luchuensis and Penicillium rubrum from dye effluent were found as potential decolourizer, exhibiting strong to mild decolorization of Novacron dyes viz. Blue FNR, Red FNR, Yellow FN2R, Orange W3R and Navy WB at habitat concentration of 0.05% after 3, 5 and 7 days of co-incubation in Czepex-Dox broth medium. Maximum decolourization usually found at 7 days. Notably, A. fumigatus and A. flavipes exhibited 85-99% decolourization of all the dyes. In contrast, A. luchuensis selectively decolourized 76-80% of yellow FN2R and blue FNR. P. rubrum also caused significant decolourization of red FNR, yellow FN2R and orange W3R. This study thus elucidates that indigenous microorganisms of textile effluent cause remarkable degradation of azo dyes and can be used as potent agent in their bioremediation.

Hydro-geochemical study to evaluate the suitability of water for irrigation purpose at Qareh sou catchment, North of Iran
In the present study, investigation of the chemical quality of water at the Qareh sou catchment has been carried out to evaluate the suitability of water for irrigation purpose. Water quality of the area has been studied based on physico- chemical analysis of six hydrometer stations during 2010. Various parameters, such as pH, EC, chloride, sulfate, bicarbonate, sodium, potassium, calcium and magnesium have been determined to evaluate this purpose. Irrigation water quality on the basis of Doneen’s permeability index, residual sodium carbonate, sodium adsorption ratio, Magnesium adsorption ratio, Kelley’s ratio, Corrosivity Ratio, potential soil salinity and Chadha’s diagram have been computed. Results showed that the water was suitable for irrigation purpose. According to Chadha’s diagram, the type of water is determined as Ca–Mg–HCO3. Also, according to the Wilcox diagram water classified as ‘excellent’ and ‘good’, except for the Siah ab and Naharkhoran stations, but Corrosivity Ratio suggests that the Qareh sou water is not safe for Water Transmission. In shastkola and pol ordgogah stations, the value of MAR is harmfully over 50%.
