Aim: To assess the long-term effects of antioxidants in individuals according to age and sex distribution. Methods: The studied subjects included a total of 150 healthy adults of 96 men and 54 women aged between 30 and 74 years. At the baseline visit, eligible candidate were randomized to either 1 capsule per day of antioxidant nutraceutical or antioxidant functional foods or placebo, and the first dose was dispensed and followed up for six months. Results: The results were grouped based on gender and age ranges, a positive increase in Immunoglobulin M (IgM) and Cytotoxic cluster of differentiation antigen 4 (CD4) counts after antioxidant dietary intervention and higher level of IgM and CD4 in men than in female at some age ranges were observed. Conclusion: The authors suggest the use of antioxidant functional foods as an alternative to antioxidant nutraceuticals in boosting immunity and therefore suggest such for immuno-compromised individuals.

Results: The results were grouped based on gender and age ranges, positive decrease in the MDA after antioxidant dietary intervention and lower concentration in men than in female at some age ranges was observed. Conclusion: We suggest the use of antioxidant functional foods as an alternative to antioxidant nutraceuticals/functional foods in reducing the effects of MDA in either healthy or stressed individuals.

Abstract. This paper is aimed at finding an optimal estimator of the normal population mean when the coefficient of variation. The paper proposes an “Efficient Minimum Mean Square Error (MMSE) Estimation Approach [Using Two ‘Sample Standard Deviation’, for improving the well-known Searls’ Usual MMSE Mean Estimator (1964)] for Normal Population with Known Coefficient of Variation”. The ‘Relative Efficiencies [as compared to the usual unbiased sample-mean estimator ] estimator, per the proposed approach, has no simple algebraic form, and hence is not amenable to an analytical study determining its relative gainfulness, as compared to the usual unbiased sample mean estimator. Nevertheless, we examine the relative efficiency of our estimator with respect to the usual unbiased estimator , using an illustrative simulation study with high replication. MATLAB R2013a is used in programming this illustrative “Simulated Empirical Numerical Study”.

The main purpose of this research is to examine the impact of corporate social responsibility initiative of the state bank of India on the customer satisfaction. A conceptual frame work comprised of four elements (economic, social, legal and philanthropic) developed by carroll 1991 is used to examine the impact of corporate social responsibility on customer satisfaction. A multivariate likert scale (1-5) has been developed with one additional dimension customer satisfaction. A sample of 192 customers of the bank has been used to collect the data. Regression and correlation analysis is conducted using SPSS 22 on full version of data to generate the result of analysis. The results show that there is a significant and positive impact of CSR dimensions on customer satisfaction. Also this research shows that economic CSR have a significant impact on customer satisfaction. This result is confirmed by correlation analysis. Correlation analysis shows that the CSR positively and significantly correlated with customer satisfaction. Hence the research found that there is significant and strong positive relationship between improved customer satisfaction and CSR. This study concluded that improving customer perception of CSR practices such as legal, ethical and philanthropy CSR will improve customer satisfaction. Therefore the banks should take initiatives to improve their CSR practices to enhance customer satisfaction

The increasing municipal solid waste (MSW) generation along with the high fraction of organic and other types of wastes is the current scenario in many tourist resorts of Kashmir valley in India. As a response to this problem, we carried out a study on the municipal solid waste (MSW) generation between May 2010 and 2011 in Yusmarg area, of the valley. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the quantity, composition and sources of wastes generated to recommend appropriate management practices. The study was based on three sites with marked differences in their physical and biotic features. The pattern of generation of municipal solid wastes (MSW) during the study showed a marked seasonal variation. The maximum average net weight of wastes was observed at site 2 (7.86 Kg/day), while as minimum was observed at site 3 (2.55 Kg/day). Among the constituents of wastes the net weight (%) was dominated by Food wastes (41.23%) followed by cardboard (15.28%), glass (11.16%) and rubber & Leather (0.17%) at all sites. Further analysis showed that the maximum Total Net Weight (46.25 Kg/Day) was contributed by recyclable wastes followed by (33.33 Kg/Day) compostable wastes, 2.57 Kg/Day by combustible wastes and 0.7 Kg/Day by inert materials. These insights into generated waste and management practice in Yusmarg health resort allow making suggestions for improved collection and disposal methods. A primary conclusion is that the biodegradable waste is a major fraction having suitable properties for recycling.

The growing importance of quality software systems has brought about increasing demand for efficient software testing. Traditionally, there is a typical approach for testing the software manually, which consumes a lot of time and effort. Hence there is a need to decrease the amount of resources needed and to increase the efficiency and throughput. One attractive solution to this problem is test automation, i.e. allocating certain testing tasks to computers. This thesis opens up the discussion on test automation framework made by us. Here we have used Selenium Web driver, Java, HTML and other necessary languages and packages for implementing the framework. The framework uses the Driver Script and allows to automatically fetch data from the spreadsheets and uses them in testing the web application automatically and also generating report automatically for the same.

This paper is organized such as, it is based on the study of an industrial factory building to the bridge pile foundation construction stability, and it investigates the effect of a new building to the bridge pile foundation internal force by the finite element analysis software ANSYS. Matching the data of numerical examination with the one of monitor measurement, we achieve that a new building has a small influence on the deformation under load action and the stress difference of a bridge pile foundation. Besides, the bridge pile foundation is safe and stable under load action.

Chhou dance and gymnastics are having almost the same pattern of movement demand same type of physical fitness components with the different objectives. Both the events required strength, speed, agility, flexibility, co-ordination, balance, rhythm etc. Objectives: The main objective of the study was to compare the physical fitness components between the Gymnasts and the Chhou dancers. Procedures: Total 50 subjects, 25 from each group about 16-20 years of age were considered as the subjects from the district Purulia of West Bengal. The measured criteria were agility and flexibility. Sit and reach test was considered for testing flexibility and SEMO agility test was taken for testing agility. Findings and conclusions: The result showed the significant difference in case of flexibility but the difference in case of agility was not significant. In both the cases the gymnasts showed better performances.

The CENTURY 4.0 Model have many variables that can be simulated. One of them is microbial respiration. In soil carbon studies there are three principal parts: total organic carbon, CO2-C and CO2. They are used to quantify soil carbon storage, microbial biomass and microbial respiration respectively. Soil total carbon comes from photosynthesis, translocation, decomposition, mineralisation processes. Soil CO2-C gives basic mass of microbial communities while soil CO2 is indicator of microbial respiratory activities. They are complimentary and supplementary approaches to virtual soil health. They are strong indicators of life in the soil media. The CENTURY 4.0 Model has additional benefit of simulating microbial respiration. In this study measured and simulated soil microbial respiration was compared in a Hanslope Soil under different land management practices. The simulated results started with ages record of 59.6 g m-2 y-1 soil respiratory rate to as low as 0.001 g m-1 y-1 in other periods of perturbations and human civilisation that impinged on natural processes of soil regeneration.

Technology today offers many new opportunities for innovation in educational assessment through rich new assessment tasks and potentially powerful scoring, reporting and real-time feedback mechanisms (Scalise, K. & Gifford, B. 2006). This paper elaborates on the pros and cons of computer-based assessment. The intended purpose is to provide a new assessment horizon for assessment developers and teachers and to help them to get a better understanding of using computer-based assessments in the educational settings.
