The study is conducted in order to identify the role of Non-Governmental organizations in community development in Ideato North LGA of Imo State. The objective of the study is to examine the role of non-governmental organizations in community development in Ideato North Local Government Area of Imo State. Three research questions were raised for the study while three hypotheses were formulated. The survey research design was adopted for the study. The population size is 118,519 while the sample size is 100, and to get the sample size, the Taro Yamani formula was used. The questionnaire was the main instrument used for data collection. The data collected was subjected to simple validity and reliability tests. The analysis of the data was based on statistical frequency tables, and chi-square x technique was used to test the level of significance. Some of the findings were that non-governmental organization has helped in the rapid community development in Ideato North. Based on the findings, recommendations were made for improvement. Serious efforts were made by the NGO's to bring about a uniform development in the communities in Ideato North LGA of Imo State.

Visual Data mining (VDM) is extensively used and being studied field of research area now a days. We surveyed in this paper the basic idea behind the visual data mining. How and why we have to classify the VDM techniques and corresponding classification criteria’s. We also presented some of its advantages.

This study investigated the effect of problem solving techniques on secondary school students’ academic achievement in algebra. Two research questions were posed and three null hypotheses were tested at 0.05 level of significance. The study adopted a quasi-experimental design, specifically, the pre-test posttest non-randomized control group design. The sample consisted of 80 senior secondary school two (SS 2) mathematics students from two co-educational schools in Owerri West Local Government Area of Imo State, Nigeria. Achievement Test in Algebra (ATA), developed by the researchers and validated by experts, was used for data collection. A reliability coefficient of 0.94 was obtained using Kudder-Richardson formula 20. Data were analyzed using mean and ANCOVA. The findings showed that the students taught with problem solving technique achieved higher than those taught with lecture method. Gender was found to have no significant influence on achievement in mathematics though the females performed slightly higher than the males. In addition, no significant interaction effect was observed between gender and treatment. The researchers recommended among others, that problem solving technique should be adopted by mathematics teachers to help students learn mathematics more effectively.

In the present investigation suggests that screening of heavy metal degradation by microfungi. Some of the microfungi were isolated from heavy metal contaminated soil samples. The percentage degradation was high in Trichoderma viride followed by Aspergillus awamori, A.fumigatus, A.niger, Penicillium chrysogenum, Penicillium sp, P.citrinum, Fusarium sp, F.solani and Trichoderma harzianum were screening. The specific heavy metal such as magnesium sulphate, zinc sulphate, copper sulphate and lead acetate with different concentration of 100, 200, 300, 400 and 500 mg/l was treated with PD broth. Among the four heavy metal degradation process with the maximum percentage of magnesium sulphate heavy metal degraded by potential microfungi. However less concentration of heavy metal was maximum percentage of degradation when compared with high concentration because molecular oxidation and reduction process was very easy. The potential microfungi T.viride was excellent degradation not only the low concentration but also high concentration of heavy metal due to the that native isolates of microfungi.

This research was carried out to examine the Impact of recruitment policies and procedures on the performance of civil service, (A study of the Nigerian Television Authority towards the effectiveness or efficiency of the present civil service compared to the past, Consequent upon this, the organization is realizing its goals and objectives which form the primary aims for establishing the company However if is recommended that the company should maintain her training policy and the establishment of its own educational in-door programmes. There should be creation of work-study section in all the departments of the organization which could enhance on the spot identification of problems for correction. Also staff motivation should be encouraged to enable them put their best. Recognition of the above is essential because great management ideas are strictly arm chair until a manager puts them into effect through manpower planning.

Conflicts in works of literature are expected to show the dominance of good deeds over bad ones. In this way, readers are to be abreast of proper behaviour for the guilty must be punished and the righteous should be rewarded. However, this is not always the case in Igbo folktales. In them, there are three determinants that affect resolution of conflicts. The first is the poetic justice which is the generally expected one. Though there are numerous cases where it is applied, sometimes it is tampered with when it comes in contact with wisdom which unfortunately cannot be distinguished from trickery. Therefore, application of wisdom or trickery is the second determinant. The third determinant is when wisdom is in combination with vengeance. Of these three determinants, the only one that does not fail in Igbo folktales is the last mentioned. It is with them that the Igbo curtail the excesses of both Tortoise and other stronger animals. Therefore, of the three determinants that control the resolution of conflicts in Igbo folktales, the most dominant is the merging of vengeance and wisdom in a character.

This research study investigates the possibilities of "Re-engineering the objective of this study therefore, was to find out the major causes of the problems of low performance of the public enterprises, seek for the possible means of re-engineering the system and to determine how the public enterprises can assume a "going concern" identity after the process. Questionnaire was designed for the collection of data and ANOVA statistical test was used for the analysis of data. It was observed that public enterprises were impoverished by the leadership style of management and bureaucratic tendencies and the culture of the people that gave rise to corruption, abuses, impunity, etc, that the only thing that can salvage the system is entrenching a new public- management (NPM) where the elements of private sector system are put in place to abolish the old bureaucratic public service system. It was however recommended that government should grant autonomy of funds and management to public enterprises with adequate supervision for control, checks and balances, reward performing officers and punish deviant ones.

This research focused on the transformational leadership behaviors of lecturers in three institutions of higher learning in Nigeria and its impact on student satisfaction and retention. A questionnaire of 36 questions with Likert scale (1-5) was used as an instrument to gather data which helped to determine the student assessment of the transformational leadership behavior displayed by their lecturers and its impact on student satisfaction and retention in institutions in Nigeria. A sample size of 300 students was randomly selected for this research. Students who have been in the institution for more than one year were chosen for this research to ensure reliability of the data. In analyzing the data, Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) was used. From the correlation analysis, it showed that transformational leadership behaviors such as intellectual stimulation, inspirational motivation, idealized attributes, and individual consideration were highly correlated and significant with student satisfaction and retention in those two institutions in Nigeria. However, regression analysis shows that Transformational Leadership behavior of idealized attributes, inspirational motivation, intellectual stimulations, and individual consideration were significant and positively influence student satisfaction level. This research has contributed to the existing knowledge by identifying those essential attributes of a lecturer which impacts positively on students’ satisfaction and retention in institutions in Nigeria. It was recommended among others that lecturers should always improve on the four areas of transformational leadership behaviours.

The word "Inyenzi”, which is a Kinyawanda word for cockroaches, came into political lexicon in Rwanda following the Revolution of 1959 in that East Central African nation. Following that Revolution, a hitherto politically dominant ethnic fraction of a broadly homogeneous population - the Tutsi, lost its status to an erstwhile dominated group - the Hutu. Consequent upon this scenario, and in order to escape state-sponsored persecution, the Tutsi fanned out in different directions into the countries of the Great Lakes region - Burundi, Uganda, Tanzania, DR. Congo. From these countries of asylum, Tutsi refugees began to carry out sporadic raids into Rwanda, in an effort to get even with the authorities, but more ostensibly to forcibly re-enter Rwanda and re-assume its former dominant position. The now dominant Hutu ethnicity responded by referring to them as cockroaches, so as to encourage not just disdain and hatred for them from the larger society, but a murderous pre-disposition, much like the natural human disposition toward cockroaches. It is the extent to which this contextualizes the denial of justice and human dignity that this paper seeks to determine. The paper also evaluates the consequences of this exercise for peace and development in the Great Lakes region of Africa.

The present study will serve as guide to Understanding the behaviour of consumers while they shop, it will help the marketers to develop market strategies so that they can understand the need of consumers better and give them exactly what they need. The present study focuses on exploring the hedonic or utilitarian consumer behaviour of males. The study was conducted in Jaipur city. The sample size used was 25 samples from two age group i.e. 25-29 and 30-35 years. Out of these 12 males were from age 25-29 years and 13 were from age 30-35 years. The data was gathered from respondents through questionnaire. Respondents were selected using random sample selection method. The study revealed that the respondent’s age is inversely proportional to the hedonic behaviour of the respondent; with the increase in age the hedonic behaviour/trait decreases and utilitarian nature increases. The study reveals that working male are more utilitarian in nature where as non-working are more hedonic in nature. The study further indicates those un-married males are more hedonic as compared to married male.
