This paper focus on the investigation of kinetic and thermodynamic characteristic of adsorption of Pb2+ ions unto functionalized Nigerian Ahoko Kaolin. The adsorption rate of Pb2+ onto the TPP-functionalized and the un-functionalized kaolin was found to increase from 0.479 to 1.915 and 0.340 to 1.894 (mgg-1min-1) in the first 10 min while increasing the initial Pb2+ concentration from 250-1000 mg/L. There was decrease in adsorption thereafter attaining equilibrium after 70 min. Increase in temperature from 298 to 323 k increase both the pseudo-second order reaction rate constant K2 and the initial sorption rate h on both the functionalized and un-functionalized kaolin. The values of K2 increase from 0.365 to 0.426 (mgg-1min-1) and 0.217 to 0.296 (mgg-1 min-1). The values of enthalpy obtained suggest that the adsorption process is endothermic in both material used with the functionalized kaolin showing higher endothermic behavior. The values for entropy and enthalpy are 106.40 and 33318.82 (kJmol-1) for functionalized kaolin and 109.78 and 34624.73 (kJmol-1) for the un-functionalized kaolin. The adsorption process follows a pseudo-second order reaction path.

This study investigated the effects of an 8 – week supervised circuit training program with moderate intensity on the fasting blood glucose level of NIDDM patients of sedentary lifestyle over conventional oral therapy medications. 40 NIDDM patients aged 35-55 years volunteered for the study. Subjects were randomly assigned into exercise and diet group (n = 20) and conventional oral therapy group (n = 20). The exercise and diet group received 60 minutes of supervised circuit training thrice a week for 8 weeks along with a prescribed diet control. Subjects in the other group were only on conventional oral therapy medications. Measurements were taken on 1st, 30th, and 60th day which include fasting blood glucose level. The results showed a very highly significant (p = 0.001) decrease in fasting blood glucose level. When both groups were compared the exercise and diet group was found to be more beneficial and effective than the conventional oral therapy medication group. Both conventional oral therapy medication and exercise and diet groups can be used in management of NIDDM. However in this present study it is seen that exercise and diet is more beneficial and effective as compared with conventional oral therapy medication in reduction of glucose levels and thus, reducing the need of oral medications.

Transition metal ions coordinated to nitrogen containing ligands, such as 1, 10 – phenanthroline and/or 2, 2? – bipyridine have found wide applications in chemotherapy. The ligands form very stable chelates with many first row transition metals and the ligands, as well as some of their derived complexes, do exhibit antimicrobial properties. The mechanism of action of these novel set of drugs was reviewed and compared to that of the conventional antifungal drugs (polyene and azoles). Transition metal complexes of 1, 10 – phenanthroline and/or 2, 2? – bipyridine demonstrated a significantly different mode of action and thus could be used either in combination with existing antimicrobial drugs or in a situation where resistance to conventional antimicrobial drugs have emerged. However, the antimicrobial properties of the various transition metal complexes of phen and bpy are not uniform indicating a degree of metal – ion dependency on their mode of action. The DNA binding, DNA cleavage and antitumoral properties of the transition metal complexes of the chelating ligands were also reviewed. DNA cleavage by these metallonucleases is reported to be dependent on the presence of a biological reductant (e.g. L-ascorbic acid, gluthathione) and an oxidant ( H2O2). The metal complexes were reported to control cancer cell division by significantly reducing DNA synthesis. However there is a significant difference in the mode of action of these novel sets of antitumoral drugs compared to the conventional antifungal drug cisplatin.

The fact that attendance has a positive effect on the performance of students has been studied by many researchers. This paper provides some evidence on the assumption that the subject of finance requires more teacher-student interaction than the subject of management. Thus attendance and academic performance has more strong relationship for finance than for management subjects. The 170 responses collected from students were analyzed through OLS technique. A stronger positive relationship of attendance and performance was found for Finance as compared to Management. The findings can be applied for other subjects, keeping in view the technicality and non-technicality of the subjects. The limitation in the research has been the variability in the personality of teachers and also the students, which can be very difficult to measure correctly and thus the finding can be different in different scenarios.

The aim of this research is to identify the components of knowledge management and their relationship with the organizational entrepreneurship in Labor and social affairs department of Qom province. In order to evaluate the components of “knowledge management” with respect to previous researches, 41 questions related to the knowledge management cycle based on Jashapara’s theory were used. In order to evaluate the components of “organizational entrepreneurship”, 31 questions used by Shokri were implemented. The research method used is quantitative and is of correlation type and is done by the survey method. A survey tool having appropriate validity and reliability was used for gathering the research data related to variables of knowledge management and organizational entrepreneurship. After determining the sample size using Cochran equation, a simple random sampling method was used in order to access the members of sample. The correlation test was implemented to test the research hypothesese. The results showed positive correlation between the knowledge management and the organizational entrepreneurship.

The main purpose of this study is analysis of the correlation between organizational justice and organizational commitment. This study also analyzes the correlation between organizational justice components as encompassed by three specific forms of justice perceptions; distributive justice, procedural justice, and interactional justice with organizational commitment. Statistical population includes employees of Mellat Bank supervisory branch in Tehran borough 5 with B. A. and M. A. degrees. The quantity of statistical population is 112. Data collection tool is questionnaire. Collected data were analyzed by and Pearson correlation test and Friedman test by SPSS software. Findings indicated significant relationships between organizational justice and organizational commitment. Correlation analysis for the three components of organizational justice showed that three components of organizational justice had relations with organizational commitment.

This study aims to analyze the phytochemical screening and antibacterial activity of leaves extract of Jatropha curcas against histamine forming bacteria, and determine of minimum inhibitory concentration. The extraction process is done by maceration method using hexane, chloroform, ethyl acetate and methanol. The extract was obtained continued by antibacterial activity test against histamine-forming bacteria. Concentration all extract of J. curcas is 1%, 10%, 20%, and 30% (w / v). Positive control using synthetic antibiotic ampicillin and negative controls used dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO). The results of phytochemical screening showed that ethyl acetate and methanol extracts containing 5 secondary metabolites, while the hexane and chloroform containing only 2 secondary metabolites. Antibacterial activity test showed that the negative control and positive control do not provide inhibition against test bacteria. All types of extracts with concentrations of 1% to 30% (w / v) gave inhibition against test bacteria. The diameter of the inhibition of K. pneumoniae and C. perfringens for all jatropha leaf extract at a concentration of 1% (w / v) did not show any significant difference to the concentration of 10%. Lowest MIC (0.10% w / v) there at the ethyl acetate extract (E3) and methanol (E4) for the bacteria C. perfringens.

Denoising an image is a crucial issue as images are widely used in various fields. Denoising deals with noise estimation and removing noise from it. While removing the noise it should preserve the sharpness and clarity of an image. This paper provides the image enhancement techniques with the estimation techniques. Various filtering approaches are suggested to remove the Gaussian additive as well as Gaussian multiplicative noise.

Alternative assessment has been acclaimed as an approach to assess activities which are authentic and engaging students with active and cooperative learning. It also foster skills needed in the 21st century and preparing students for future careers. The study is an attempt to build an analytical rubric to evaluate students science project and enriching it with 21st century skills and providing a space for students to develop their potential. Delphi technique is used to validate the rubric and intra-class correlation coefficient (ICC) was conducted to measure the reliability of the rubric. The study encountered that the rubric reached high consensus by panel of experts and high absolute agreement of [ICC = .75(95%CI, .41 to .93)] which can be concluded that is has a fair reliability of 75.0%. Thus the rubric can be practiced and implemented to assess students science project. However the study have found numerous issues and constraints but the creation of the rubric concedes assessment of students activities which are authentic and relevant to nourish 21st century skills. Though, further research on the validity and reliability of the rubric is crucial.
